Fiji's Attorney General says a new chairperson for the Fiji Human Rights Commission and Ombusman will be appointed soon.Aiyaz Sayed Khaiyum says the appointments will be made when interim Prime Minister, Frank Bainimarama, returns next month from a three-week trip overseas.
Dr Shaista Shameem previously held both positions, but was sacked on April 10.
Commodroe Bainimarama is in Georgetown, Guyana, this week for the 11th Special African Caribbean Pacific ministerial conference on sugar.
