Military promotion for senior army officers

Military lawyer Mohammed Aziz and the army's Land Force Commander Pita Driti have been promoted to the rank of Brigadier. Both previously held the rank of Colonel.

Sources have confirmed that the promotion was announced to the troops last week.

They have also confirmed that some local media outlets were prevented from reporting on the promotion by the regime's censors.

Coupfourpointfive has been told that Driti who has been chosen to lead the next mission of 200 troops on a peacekeeping mission to Iraq, is now not going on the mission following his promotion to Brigadier.

Sources say military commander and dictator Frank Banimarama decided to reward Driti and Aziz after Driti's peacekeeping mission was thrown into doubt.

According to sources the United Nations has decided not to allow Driti to lead the mission because of the military's increasing role following the abrogation of the Constitution as well as its harassment and intimidation of civilians who are pro-democracy activists.

What a shame that Pita Driti isn't going to iraq. Frank, plus the entire country, must have been hoping he'd cop a roadside bomb. Instead, it seems, he stays in Fiji with even more pips on his tunic. Isn't life cruel? On the other hand, none of this is confirmed. So perhaps it's just someone's idea of a joke.

Another clear example of self-preservation and self-promotion by the jaundiced junta and their subordinates.

Gotta keep the brown-nosers happy at home cos they won't get the recognition they DESPERATELY seek from LEGITIMATE ENITITIES overseas.

Just gotta laugh about all these plans to go overseas, as in the failed Leweni promotion to the Malaysian ambassadorial position and now Driti's failed UN leadesrhip mission.

So, to keep them happy at home, Voreqe has to award one with a board position and another the title of Brigadier. OMG! It's amazing how the POWER OF GUN PERSUASION (as tauted here more often by a simpleton Anon) can get you to these days.

But unfortunately the FALL WILL BE HARSHER AND MOST DEVASTING THAN THE RISE!

And the Vore said NO MILITARY PERSONNEL WILL BENEFIT FROM HIM STEALING THE GOVT. OF THE PEOPLE WITH HIS GUNS!

This is very intriguing because if you look at the table of military hierarchy for places like Fiji, a Brigadier in the army has equal status with a Commodore in the Navy. I suspect something else might have happened that we haven't been told about; the elevation of Frank to Admiral. If not, there's now three officers at the very top of the regime, not one. Doesn't sound right does it? Can anyone see Cranky Frankie sharing the top perch with these guys? Not likely.

The higher they go, the higher they fall.

Ha, ha, ha! Da ci ga valevu ni sa mai va tu qo na mataivalu. Donald Duck has become brigadier in the Mickey Mouse Army.

Now you guys are complaining about 2 promotions in the military. Come on - QARASE HAD 36 MINISTERS IN HIS LAST GOVERNMENT. So who do you really think you should be accusing of milking the public purse with inappropriate promotions? The current government is putting out 5 times the work with 1/5 the people.

Talk about life imitating art.

Sailor commands a land army - failed musician in charge of television stations - wonder what Gilbert & Sulivan would have made of it?
