Sayed-Khaiyum bollocks Fiji Times for not covering Food Symposium

The junta's attorney general has attacked the Fiji Times again, this time criticising the country's oldest paper for failing to file stories on the Food Security Symposium.

Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum is quoted by the Fiji Broadcasting Corporation today as saying: “The point is that the Fiji Times does not does not want to write any stories, does not want to comment on any issues, does not want to cover any events – such as yesterday – if it makes the Bainimarama government look good.

“That is the bottom line and you will see the theme running throughout their publications for the last three years, irrespective of whether that agenda has a positive effect on the people of Fiji, irrespective of whether it will help economic development and advance investor confidence.

“The Fiji Times is not interested in those aspects. All they’re interested in is from a political perspective. That is their agenda.”

The Fiji Times editor in chief, Netani Rika, defended the paper, saying today's edition covers Bainimarama’s visits to Ovalau as well as other positive stories on the work of the government.

He says the Fiji Times has always contributed towards the welfare of Fiji and its citizens and it is the censoring by the government that prevents certain good stories from going to press.

“As for the food symposium, that was a very big event, there are some many issues that need to be covered from there, and it was just too much for us to handle yesterday with everything else that was going on,” says Rika.

“Our 43,000 readers will be able to read about that symposium in tomorrow’s paper providing the censor’s don’t take those stories out. We have described exactly how it is that we contribute to this country. We’ve done so for the last 140 years.”-Source Fiji Broadcasting Corporation

Quite amazing that Aiyaz has the gall to require apaper to report on what he wishes. Take up publishing your own crap papervif you wish unfortunately the diji times is not a toll for government propaganda and any paper the illegal AG would be involved with would go bust as people are to wise to read government tripe. If they want to see what the illegal regime is doing... the government can print it's own paper, oh hang on it does.... the fiji sun, daily post and his own brother with fiji tv to trumpet those hundreds of successes .Apparently he will not be happy unitl all media just riuns government propoganda.

Poor Pretender AG, he just doesn't want to understand why no one respects him and want to do his bidding...why the Fiji Times doesn't want to be a mouth piece for an illegal government, why it is fighting hard for its integrity. It's so obvious he will shut down the Fiji Times

I think the international community is laughing at lil POl Pot Aiyaz. From nowhere he comes, next minute he is demanding obedience. Someone onthis forum had the right idea yesterday - world governments should declare coups a criminal act, which will allow it to arrest and punish the offenders. This means guilty verdicts and jail time, not immunity. It is after all what they are doing to 'rerrorist', who are committing crimes against the interests of the state and people. The illega takeovers in Fiji are harmful to the people and the country - it'sa criminal act and we should start locking them up otherwise we going to get Voreqe and Sayed-Khaiyum's 'I'm so sorry' act in 20 years time.

Khaiyum, if you cannot handle the heat just remove your big arse from Government! You cannot dictate what a private media company reports in its medium. That is the reality of the whole thing.

If Govt thinks that they want to own a newspaper to report its activities then it should establish one-but you cannot decide for others what you want you nitwit!

Just go back to the black hole from which you crawled out!

Just who does this Illegal AG think he is? He remotely compares to the Fiji Times with 140 years serving the people of Fiji compared to his illegal regime for over 3 years.

Just wait when he gets booted out when the people of Fiji can have a say in who their leaders will be. Then Aiyaz and his military cronies and thugs will be languishing in jail or hunted down wherever he runs to to hide on the return of a democratically elected government in Fiji.

The cheek for him to even want his posturing at such a forum to be reported by a reputable paper.. If ever the Fiji Times reports on his useless musings it should at a corner in the second last page of the paper when people are keen to wrap up reading.. That is where his rubbish and illegal diatribe should be reported..

Keep up the great and courageous work Fiji Times in standing up to the bullying tactic of the illegal Fiji regime.

Maybe the Fiji Times did write an article about the food thingo; maybe it went like this.

""Yesterday a meeting was held about food.

After morning tea, the participants heard a mumbled sermon from bananasinpyjamas about sugar cane and how he was going to get production up from rock bottom.

At no stage did bananasinpyjamas acknowledge that the moronic military were the cause of the death of the sugar industry.

bananasinpyjamas also wanted hotels to buy local produce. He forgot to mention that foreign investors have pulled out of Fiji so innovative farming methods can't be tried due to lack of finance.

bananasinpyjamas went on to say that they would have a lovely lunch of NZ lamb, aussie potatoes and US ice cream.

Two people were arrested and badly beaten by green goons when they asked bananasinpyjamas why they weren't having local taro.

A couple of other people got up to speak but reporters were told not to listen to them as bananasinpyjamas was the only important person there.

After a day of rhetoric from the illegal junta and its stooges, there was nothing new as an outcome.

The day was a waste of time."""

After the green goon censor, private Dick Head, was finished with his red pen, the story read like this:-

""Yesterday a meeting was held about food.""

The Fiji Times decided not to publish this today but may print it tomorrow in the 'death' notices.

Another take on the AG's evident desire for publicity is to give that publicity to him. In spades.

FT could get several cub reporters to tail the fellow all the time, like the papparazzi do overseas. Constant flash bulbs going off in his face, picking up and publishing every moment for posterity. The best part would be catching him whilst he's picking his nose, adjusting his fly, scratching his arse etc.

Every greasy open pore could be dwelled upon, every unscripted (and therefore inane sounding) utterance could be tape recorded and once a compilation of all that had been posted onto YouTube, I'm sure he'd be reconsidering his wish for publicity.

It proves the old saying " the pen is mightier than the sword " yet on this occasion, Sayed is complaining because nothing was written !
Maybe they need a new decree declaring that you can't write nothing !

Guys, believe it or not I found someone who likes Cassava Frank's regime. I am currently in Vanuatu and chatted to a hotel owner here. He tells me that ever since 2006, his bookings and occupation have increased and kiwis and ozzies are happy to have an alternative to Fiji. The media bullshit degree is celebrated here as it will again boost tourism in Vanuatu. Keep going Aiarse and Frank, Vanuatu loves you.

Aiyaz, franki and team have everything under their feet, power, money, jury,GUNS, you name it and still they are scared of ordinary men and women. It's the challenge of all the people in democracy, truth and justice, freedom to these bunch of thugs, murderer's, rapists; make the field level. come franki and aiyaz one on one and my feelings say frank will be the first to wet in his underwear, followed by all the HIGRAS.

...and then he decreed...shut the media down... and they were shut down; still he was not satisfied, He commandered...shut their brains down ... and so his column of automaton tried but to their consternation, the sagacious and salubrious court of public opinion 'soldiered' on! Then it sank in (may be not!) that unlike them, the public was not a ROBOT...

Who's the bigger fool here I wonder!
