Fiji junta: who is where, doing what?

The junta's principal players are all out of Fiji at the same time for the first time, since they seized power in 2006.

Self-appointed prime minister, Voreqe Bainimarama, is in New York for the United Nations General Assembly gathering, his master henchman, Aiyaz Sayed Khaiyum is in Geneva for the World Intellectual Property Organisation conference and the president, Epeli Nailatikau is in China.

At home are Defence Minister Ratu Epeli Ganilau, who will be acting prime minister, and Brigadier General Pita Driti, who has been appointed the Acting Military Commander.
Brigadier Aziz Mohammed has not been given any responsibility as in the past.

Chief Justice Anthony Gates is the acting President in the absence of the President Ratu Epeli Nailatikau – who is on a 16 day international tour including a nine-day visit of China.
The appointments were confirmed by permanent secretary to the Prime Minister’s Office Colonel Pio Tikoduadua, who told the Fiji Broadcasting Corporation, the positions were divvied up by Bainimarama before he left for New York.

Perhaps one of you could have attended Rauluni's funeral. Oops!! sorry, you cant go to Australia with blood on your hands. China is probably your best option. "Birds of a feather flock together". Where to next? Afghanistan or Pakistan?

"Aiyaz Sayed Khaiyum is in Geneva for the World Intellectual Property Organisation conference "

Pardon my ignorance, but I dont know what this is all about. To my understanding, It is all about "real estate", Like selling his Berry Rd home to Tappoos, effectively paid for by the tax payers. Another Taliban scheme of things.

Still a media blackout on the missing $200m? Khaiyum is in the worlds secretive money capital Geneva Switzerland - coincidence?

Ai-arse is at conference dealing with copy rights....there are more important issues he should be focussing his empty brain on.

This idiot Bainisona is really squandering scarse funds trotting the world. What on earth can he intelligently talk about, being an uneducated no brainer, better known normally to responding to interviewers with typical reverse silly questions, expected of a village idiot?

He will be an embarrasment to Fiji at the international forum.

The arrogancy of the Fijian is unbelievable. Its comments like the above that makes one think no wonder they just really deserve the tough stand of the military.
