FDFM: 'Regime does not have resources to arrest and detail 10 or 20 thousand people'

Australia's Democracy Movement is citing the military blow-out as a major example of why the self-appointed Bainimarama government cannot continue to run Fiji.

In an email promoting the Save Fiji Movement march at Sukuna Park in Suva next Friday, the Sydney-based group says the military will have busted its annual budget by $700,000,000 if it's allowed to continue until 2014.

Quoting the work of Dr Nadan Warsey of the University of the South Pacific, it says his calculations reveal the huge cost the country is paying for military rule.

"That is $700 million for unproductive periodically coup conducting soldiers. Which means $700 million less for education, health, social welfare, poverty alleviation, and national infrastructure development – not to mention the enormous damage done to the national economy."

Two protest marches are now planned in the next two weeks for people to rally against the self-appointed government of Bainimarama.

The first is in Sydney and planned for this Sunday (December 5) to co-incide with the fourth anniversary of Bainimarama's December 6 coup.

The second is scheduled for next Friday (December 10), noon at Sukuna Park in Suva.

The email from FDFM urges people to spread the news about the marches and to attend: "....Come let us all march together in Suva on Friday, 10th of December. Remember the regime do not have the resources to arrest and detail 10 or 20 thousand people."

Who would want to march alongside the likes of kaitani, ted and ballu? As much as I strongly support democracy, I cant stoop so low to rub shoulders with these people. They are no better than the current illegal govt ministers.

The marchers will be lucky to number 100 because the March will NOT attract the following; (1)Christians who observe Advent (which began last Sunday)use this period to reflect about the next life and FORGIVENESS allowing God to be the Judge of Fiji will be uppermost in their prayers at this stage, (2)On the other hand, this is also the period for 'oga' so people are busy planning/preparing for - weddings, soli, reunions, urban joining rural relatives for Christmas, (3) Those with families in the military would not want to upset the financial apple cart.

Unfortunately the regime does not have to detain or gaol twenty thousand they will target the individual and beat them senseless. I applaud this peaceful protest but I think this regime is entrenched and arrogant with too many self-ingterests and vanities involved. It is way too hard to compliment or encourage this regime as they use it to trumpet some approval of them and their methods which are unsustainable. But is about time Fijians take the future in their own hands and stand up for the fundamentals. Militocracy is no way to govern these islands.

Each day we are bombarded with useless information notwithstanding information’s that is disseminated from this ineffective and duplicitous Democratic Movement there in Australia,

Should one probe into their past one would find the lack of fair-mindedness which belies their assertions of integrity in propagating the principles of Democracy.

For the leaders of this movement do not engage or encourage the spirit of Democracy they lack the fundamental nous to lead.

If and when like minded people choose to protest it would be in the spirit of Democracy and not to advance these sidewinders self preservation.

They will appeal to the baseness that lies deep within your beings but you must understand when push comes to shove these mongrels will scarper like poltroons that they are.

Listen up people don’t be deluded by these self proclaimed messiah of Democracy.

Do not endanger you lives for the sake of a few thugs.

Go out tomorrow and give these idiots the fingers.

March or no march - it make no difference to the Vore the PIG. Why/ Beacuse he has been, is and will be a very SICK man!
He is in self-preservation mode and will do ANYTHING and I mean ANYTHING to not got to Naboro!!
What "self-preservation" you might ask. Allow me to enlighten one and all.
You see, he has lost all sense of direction and reason after the CRW , rightly tried to eliminate him. From very, VERY reliable sources, Vore ordered that the CRW soldiers be tortured - their tongues were ripped out, they private parts were smashed between two stones etc etc.
I am reliably told that the then Military doctor requested that he be 'Marched Out" as he had never seen 'anything like this ' in his medical career.
I leave to you bloggers to decide.

The only thing to fear is FEAR itself!

Anonymous said...

What Nadina is saying is true. What Nadina is saying designed to make you afraid - whether that was his intention or not. That is exactly what Voreqe knows and that is why he is in power. He knows that if you kill one you scare a thousand.
However for all Fijians, stand still and think for a moment - do you really value your freedom? Do you know what it actually means? have you felt the helplessness of being imprisoned and knowing that there is no one you can appeal to because the law has been "removed" and the real law is the gun and those that imprisoned you are holding it!!!
Fiji has decayed because this generation of Fijians has never fought for it. Fijians since the generation that went to Malaya have reaped where they never sowed.
Lebanon was a joke!
Fiji will only return to the nostalgic isles that we so fondly talk about only if each generation is willing to defend it with their lives.
So the question is this "Will this generation stand up?" or do we leave it to the next generation and this generation quietly dies due to paralysis induced by fear as Nadina tries to portray.
I do not want to be "one of the living dead".
Let us call Nadina his real name Nalasu or Naveivakarerei!
Come and March. You may be surprised by how a crowd begins to feed on each others courage and the regime will crumble from within.

Anonymous said...

It will NOT happen. Commander & Chief Sir Khaiyum will give orders for marchers to be shot on sight and military will follow even if they have to shoot women and children too.

Indegenous Fijians are too afraid and have no guts not like the Indians who did not fear the guns in 87 and marched although many were beaten up especially women and children around Albert Park and Travelodge grounds.

People get used to life under Sir Khaiyum and worry about the future of your families and your children than be involved in something that the organisers who are sitting pretty overseas will not even attend themselves.

Why risk your lives when these loudmouths overseas will take all the accolades and who will feed your family and look after them when you are gone.

This is delusion on a grand scale. Have the protests in Sydney, by all means, but encouraging people to come out in Suva is irresponsible. These guys are sitting in the safety of Sydney encouraging resistance in Fiji at no personal cost to themselves. It isn't going to happen.

Nadina, I attended Bainimarama's daughter's wedding - mass and reception and he is as healthy as can be. Your name is not consistent with your lies. Don't play God!

Nadina, by invitation from Bainimarama's new son-in-law, I attended his daughter's wedding last night. FYI and all wishful thinkers that he be sick or dead, he was very, very fit. Your name (Nadina) is not consistent with what you say. Don't play God!

Once a murderer always a murderer and a coward and that's Vore now joined by Ayarse and the rest of the goons who carried out Vores orders to murder the CRW, witnesses to the murder of the man at the Bowling club involving Peter Kean, yes and many others. Yes, freedom has a high price, even Jesus paid in his bloodshed and death. Long Live Viti.

The lies said about this illegal government are atrocious, amongst which that Frank did not pass his Fiji Junior - check the records and you will find he passed with a B grade. What is a lie is Kaitani claiming to have a bachelor's degree from USP - check with USP. And of course Ted Young and other march supporters like Ballu Khan have much to answer for to the people of Fiji for robbing them off their democratic right to honest leadership. Sa dri yani.

Job

Chapter 5

1 Call now! Will anyone respond to you? To which of the holy ones will you appeal?

2 Nay, impatience kills the fool and indignation slays the simpleton.

3 I have seen a fool spreading his roots, but his household suddenly decayed.

4 His children shall be far from safety; they shall be crushed at the gate without a rescuer.

5 What they have reaped the hungry shall eat up; (or God shall take it away by blight;) and the thirsty shall swallow their substance.

6 For mischief comes not out of the earth, nor does trouble spring out of the ground;

7 But man himself begets mischief, as sparks fly upward.

8 In your place, I would appeal to God, and to God I would state my plea.

Do not be fooled by these wolves.

Fijians can only march IF they are definate that the guns are with them and not against them.

Even the big Chief backed off with his marchers when he betrayed the CRW soldiers and used them as pigs to fight for the Chief's cause without sending the promised human shield to protect the CRW.

If your chiefs can betray the CRW who put their life on the table, then do not be fooled into another staunt by those who are trying to use people by themselves be protected same way as the 2000 mutiny attempt.

Learn to understand the basics. Military is a government institution. Any unlawful activity conducted by the institution is invalid to that inconsistency. That does not make those who conducted those acts as criminals unless that is the stand taken by the DPP to trial them in court.

But with a flawed decree stopping filing any case against the goons -smart move by AIAS these unlawful governance will continue until the cows come home.

And no one will take the march - At least not the SDL leaders or the church leaders or the chiefs.

So without these three groups represented in the march, there will not be any one else to follow them to add to the numbers in the march....

These people can only march against the Kai Diya, who do not have any use of guns experience. But although they have experience with guns by many serving in the army, one thing Fiji has achieved since 1987 coup under Frank. This is that the soldiers and the institution has clearly understood there is only one Commander and only one command is to be followed at all times.

In this sense after the next elections (??) there is very little chance to a repeat coup in Fiji. So hold hands for peace and not for the sake of failed politicians!!

One's too many.

It does however possess enough weapons to shoot them - whether it has the will is another matter.

Anonymous said...

Do not be fooled that military will not shoot. THEY will shoot, but not with bullets but definately with stunt guns that the cops use in dangerous situations.

Can the march organisers also tell their people to be ready for the electic shock guns to give them a good spark in the right places if they try to become silly buggers!!!

I see fijians killing fijians and Indians sitting back and watching the dickheads kill each other by the thousands.

Who would have belived this could happen after the events of 87 and 2000.

Anonymous said...

Indians do not sit back and watch. It is Fijians who chose to sit back and let the self proclaimed worrior go unopposed.

In 1987 Indians marched and marched. In 2000 Indians marched and formed refugee camp to protech the victims when Fijians assaulted them and took over their farms to feed the Fijian human shields at the parliament and burnt many houses.

By saying Indians will sit back and watch - well Indians have now left Fiji and given Fijians to outnumber them. So really the threat for Fijians were always amongst themselves but they used Indians as excuse always to meet their personal agenda.

This time, they have left it for the same Fijians to correct themselves - at least cannot find excuse to blame Indians this time around...

May be a learning curve for the Fijians that even if Indian dominated govt will ever come back - there will be acceptance next time around!! I hope..
