Former attorney general one of three men questioned

POSECI BUNE
The third man taken in for questioning by the military this week has been named to Coupfourpointfive as Anand Kumar Singh, the former attorney general of Fiji.

Singh, a cabinet minister in the Mahendra Chaudhry government, was questioned along with the former deputy leader of the Labour Party, Poseci Bune (pictured right) and businessman, Ben Padarath (pictured below).

BEN PADARATH
All three were released but Padarath is in the Colonial War Memorial Hospital in Suva being treated for burns received during the interrogation.

It's believed the trio were questioned following the discovery of 'suspicious' documents. A source close to one of the men confirmed military had searched his home for documents.

Additional information acquired by Coupfourpointfive suggests the men were questioned for discussing the 'toppling' of Frank Bainimarama and Aiyaz Sayed Khaiyum when rumours were flying late last year.

The Fiji Broadcasting Corporation is reporting that the military and police are continuing their investigation and that a senior officer with the Ministry of Health was also spoken to.

Why bash people up just because you saw some documents?
The Police should enforce the law and go and round up these military thugs who are bashing up people and burning them.
Shouldn't Amnesty Intn'l be notified for these abuse of human rights?
It's becoming a little bit of a habit isn't it?
Bai has been doing this since 2000.
The International community should ban trade or apply some form of sanction on Fiji.

  3. @ Mark Manning

New Years Day is the first Public Holiday in Fiji.

Its people like you who bring up nothing in an attempt to create a Moslem conspiracy.

A class one kid could have answered. Remember the show "I am not smarter than a 5th grader". I think you should proclaim that now.

  8. I can't believe the the level of ignorance idiots like Mark Manning posses. The only reason Mohammeds birthday is celebrated early is because the Arab world follows the Lunar calender which for reasons that i am not totally clear on rotates the dates of important muslim festivals and occasions. It is the same reason that the month of fasting varies each year and the dates for all muslim events vary year to year. Next year it may actually be in December based on its current cycle. It has nothing to do with a Muslim Conspiracy. Its amazing how parranoid some people can get over something as trivial as a public holiday. Believe it or not Mark Muslims in Fiji are certainly not like those you see in the News. I am sick and tied of idiots like you pushing the Muslim agenda. Yes Aiyaz may be a Muslim but Frank is a Taukei so is the rest of his cabinet with the exception of Dr Neel Sharma. Don't you think that it would be rather hard if not impossible to run a Muslim state with only 57,000 members out of 950,000 people. Even Aiyaz with all his short commings would know this.
You really need to look at your self in the mirror mate and see if you like what is loking back at you because their is a common term used for people like you i.e. "racist"
