All eyes on disgraced regime as word of beatings and torture spread

"There is no assault or implication, or confirmations of any assault ... you know, there would be some minimal force used if people [resist] arrest."

Land Forces Commander, Colonel Mosese Tikoitoga, was back out today defending the regime and pedalling the line that RFMF soldiers don't beat citizens.

Tikoitonga's lame assurances came as regional and international media zoomed in on the Frank Bainimarama regime, and its recent brutal crackdown on citizens.
Australian, New Zealand and British media all picked up on the recent beatings and torture of a number of people (revealed by freedom blogs), ranging from youths to former Cabinet Ministers, journalists and trade unionists.

Amnesty International, of course, has brought its considerable weight to bear, highlighting in the past week the mistreatment of locals by soldiers at the QEB barracks.

Yet, Tikoitonga today claimed no beatings had occurred, and insisted the people behind the allegations had a political agenda.

He told Radio Australia the Fiji military is only involved in arresting people, if police request their help and when the public emergency regulations have been broken.

Naively and predictably, he went on to say the people making allegations should be using the legal system to air their concerns and not just the media.

He then went on to justify the violence on citizens as necessary and acceptable under the PER.

"There is no assault or implication, or confirmations of any assault ... you know, there would be some minimal force used if people [resist] arrest.

"The mere fact that they have disobeyed the public emergency regulations is testimony to the fact that they have different agendas."

Spoken like a true dumb soldier following the orders of someone who has lost the plot.

Like the despotic Libyan dictator, Muammar Gaddafi, the world knows Frank Bainimarama is a dictator who is using the army, illegal decrees and the Public Emergency Regulations to stay in power.

The world also already knows of two of the soldiers behind the beatings, both of whom have been identified to Coupfourpointfive as Major Penioni Naliva (top left) with Bainimarama and Captain Aseri Rokoura (above right).

The reported beatings are the tip of the ice berg. I ask amnesty international to investigate the cruel beatup and death of at least two youngmen in Cakaudrove last year. One of them, a youth of Nailou, Tunuloa,Cakaudrove died,I am told, after his neck and voicebox cracked under military personnell boots after he lied to them about marijuana plantations.
At police stations nearby it is common site to see mothers weepinng at the site of young sons taken in by the joint military and police teams. They are tortured, beaten, made to duckwalk, crawl ontheir stomacks and have their head shaven for petty things like getting drunk.
There is too much fear to report and Amnesty International you must investigate.

The Fijian Military just don’t go out and arbitrarily beat up on their citizens as suggested by Amnesty International among other organisations now these individuals that claim to beaten up by the military don’t tell you the reason why they were allegedly beaten up do they.

Besides if any one deserves to be thrashed is Sam Speight along with his corrupt sidewinders for these people is the bane of society they have systematically brought the country to knees and have assigned the people to extreme poverty.

If AI is so concerned about the alleged beatings than make their way to Fiji and investigate such beatings instead of accepting from pernicious individuals doctored up pieces of paper.

Like RNZ these dickheads at AINZ are nothing more than masturbating tree hugging dip sticks.

The United Nations should sack all Fijian soldiers under its employment and send them all back home.
There are some murderers there, ie those who murdered innocent Fijian civilians eg Rabaka.

Well soldier boy I sincerely doubt the good lord is with you and your friends. If you are proud to be associated with this rabble of an army then you are indeed one of them, one of those who don't think for one minute that this might just be a little wrong. But if you think the good Lord is with you then pray son, pray for your soul. And just a word, following orders that are illegal, unlawful and just plain thuggery has never been a defence in court or your heaven.

All Fiji soliders are a bunch of dickheads who will eat shit if directed by Sir Khaiyum - They cannot distinguish between right and wrong and I hope they all rot in hell and die slow painfnful deaths with a lot of suffering. Let God show them that he is more powerful than all their guns - Na ulukau ga na ulukau.

Well my boss & hero VB has not gone to real combat zone, nor led a battalion in Lebanon, Sinai etc. Simply nothing under his belt to be proud of for now. Similarly with all this hopeless young want-to-be real soldiers.

No wonder they are creating their own fight and war by torturing/beating/cheating and persecuting their own people whom they supose to have protected after all. In other words all the intelleigent officers have left, the cronies and dummies left behind.

sorry boss.

"I wish I believed in the honor of the Fiji Army as I once did"

There is nothing stopping you from showing allegiance because you see the mighty Fijian Army is working for you and the nation.

Hooray to the boys in green.

"Now, they have betrayed the people they were meant to fight for and protect. There is no honor in that"

There is always honour in what the military is achieving moreso now than ever before.

Speaking of betraying Qarase and his debauched thugs betrayed the very people they were suppose to care for.

Its no wonder the people have given Frank the big thumbs up.

The criminal abduction and torture of Tailevu North parliament representative, Samisoni Tikoinasau backfired on the illegal junta and Bainimarama because this time one of the innocent victims have managed to get out of the country and seek medical help overseas so that the doctors can medically and unbiasedly verify the tortures carried out him up at QEB. Better still, this sad event can be reported through the international media and government agencies and other public forums so that more awareness is raised and plans can be put in place to remove this evil and misguided regime.

Voreqe cannot sustain his accusations against the SDL because many other non SDL unarmed civilians are being abducted off the streets and tortured up at QEB by Voreqe’s personal goon squad. These victims are Fijian, Indian, old men, women, young kids, union officials, FLP party members and or expatriates. After being subjected to humiliating and degrading treatment up at QEB and dumped back on the streets these victims remain silent because they are too scared to report It. It is useless going to the Police and courts because they all listen to the will of an illegal Voreqe law.

Vinakavakalevu Tai Samisoni for being a voice for these other victims and for the rest of Fiji in the international forum. The world needs to know what is really occurring in Fiji.

Which people? Frank?

"Its no wonder the people have given Frank the big thumbs up."

No they havent. There has been no election. They have fulfilled none of their promises. There is no free media, no free speech, no discussion, no nothing.

As far as you know, noone other than you and the army like Frank.

Don't be an idiot Jake. Just because you keep writing that "everyone" is happy about the regime does not make it so. Writing from your teitei in NZ doesnt make your opinion valuable at all.

“Which people? Frank”

Frank wouldn’t dare betray the people unlike those debauched SDL thugs who literally stole from the mouths of babes.

“No they havent. There has been no election. They have fulfilled none of their promises. There is no free media, no free speech, no discussion, no nothing”

Oh yes they have in fact they have given Frank the two thumbs up not one as earlier indicated besides the people are coming out in their droves just to greet and apologise to their saviour.

Now who needs an election when the people are so joyous just to have someone like Frank to address their concerns something that was absent with the other lot.

The media are free to print whatever they so choose but instead they decided to tow the military line, in regards to free speech you have not thus far being curtailed in fact you are free like anyone else to speak freely.

“As far as you know, no one other than you and the army like Frank”

The truth is I don’t give a rat’s arse about the military but the majority of people do only because they know Frank is a man of principles.

“Don't be an idiot Jake. Just because you keep writing that "everyone" is happy about the regime does not make it so. Writing from your teitei in NZ doesnt make your opinion valuable at all”

I am not the one being an idiot here you need to pull your head out the sand and clear your eyes because the people are very pleased with this regime some have gone as far to seek authority from their leaders to apologise to this fella you can’t deny that.

The beauty of freedom of speech is everyone including you has an opinion whether it is valuable or invaluable it makes no difference.

Radio lily is still producing milk quite liberally.

It would be inane to argue with majority of people for they have being neglected by their leaders for a very long time Frank is only filling in the void.

Jake

"the beauty of freedom of speech is everyone including you has an opinion"

Once again, you missed the point entirely, then argued against yourself.

We DON'T have freedom of speech in Fiji. What we do have is the regimes propaganda and censorship. You are part of this.

If Frank and the regime were truly as popular as you claim - they wouldn't need to censor the truth.

You can't argue with logic Jake.

Oh yes you do have freedom of speech we are all free to opine at will without fear of persecution it’s a mind over matter thing don’t be preoccupied with this crap.

“If Frank and the regime were truly as popular as you claim - they wouldn't need to censor the truth:

Ah! You see I am not the one making these claims but the people are the truth is out there among the nation.

Be counted among your fellowmen subconsciously you know what Frank is trying very hard to achieve is just.

No. You live in NZ - you do. We don't. Don't be stupid Jake.

"You see I am not the one making these claims"

Nope. Just you and the military.

"Be counted among your fellowmen subconsciously..."

Your idiotic verbal diarrhea is amazing. Your denial of reality is worrying.
