Fiji's police commissioner orders road blocks

 RFMF goes on high alert!

Reports that Pita Driti and Roko Ului Mara will be taken into custody to wait out their trial have strengthened with the Police Commissioner passing a directive for police, with army on backup, to mount roadblocks.

Fifteen hundred police officers are to be on a 24 hour shift.
The CID and the NIB have recommended to the Police Commissioner that Ului and Driti be taken into custody to wait out their trial.

The reason? Fear of national security.

Insiders say a report was delivered to Ioane Naivalurua today and a copy sent to both the Ministry of Defence and the illegal PM's office.

It's believed the illegal attorney general, Aiyaz Sayed Khaiyum, has signed off on the remand notice but Naivalurua is to approach the dictator when he returns from Vietnam.

Sources say Driti and Mara are likely to be taken in, within the next 24 hours and will be remanded until their hearing on May the 30th and June the first. Their expected place of confinement? Nabaro maximum prison.

If the RFMF are running scared of their own shadows then they should be extra wary of past ghosts coming back to haunt them.

It makes me laugh reading the Blogs especially the curses and hatred hurled at soldiers, I like it and serves them right anyway. The FB soldiers know how much civilian public hates them, how low they rate them, how stupid/idiotic/arrogant people think they are. So Bloggers, let us continue the pressure but leave our doors open for those who wants to join in the struggle like Ului who came straight into his Province seeking support to fight FB.

Ului/Driti’s case highlights few things, i) there are cracks in the FB Army, ii) anyone known of talking in the army will be expelled and locked away in prison, iii) the big majority of the population hates and do not support FB that is why Ului hurriedly came back to Lau and consult.

So, Lau............ loloma, vosota, ciqoma, qai dou vakavulici Ului me bau tawa vinaka i cake.

Lomaiviti - Dou lomani Driti.

You have all missed the point here.
Again, Aiyaz is running the show and riding roughshod over the Indigenous Fijians.
Never trust a man in a skirt I always say !
Does this mean Aiyaz is in charge of the RFMF, Frank Bainimarama and 400,000 Indigenous Fijians?

How does an illegal A.G. overrule a Court ?
Only in Fiji !

It can only succeed if the police Commissioner is complicate in the illegal act of detaining Driti and Mara, despite the fact that the Court has released them both from custody.

These actions by the Pol. Comm. prove with no doubt, that he is part of the establishment now and as guilty of treason as Frank and Co.
If there was ever any doubt, there isn't now.

So if Frank becomes President and Francis Kean Commander of the Military and Aiyaz Prime Minister, will Aiyaz 1st. move be to disband the RFMF to protect himself and Frank ?

Mark, I am of the view that you are giving ASK too much undeserved credit. For someone who was a nobody in the legal fratenity pre 2006, and by that I mean no credible, commendable practical record/ experience other than mere paper qualification,ASK has in a short span of legal years become quite the veteran!!! The only problem is, I do not believe for a minute that he really has become the veteran legal eagle a lot of people have mistakenly made him out to be. If you really think about it, I am sure you will agree that things just dont add up. Something definitely is amiss! I suspect that ASK is still as green as he was pre 2006. So, I believe that we have been missing the target all this time. Find his mentor(s)and legal benefactor(s), and you find who really is/are running the show. The sooner we flush him/her/them out, the quicker we can end this nightmare. Hmmmmm, who has/have been under the radar...yet still very much out there...hmmmmm...who could he/she/they be I wonder...tick...tock...tick...tock...tick...tock...

"Now the serpent was more crafty than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said to the woman, 'Indeed, has God said, "You shall not eat from any tree of the garden"?'"Genesis 3:1 NASB

After the Allies' victorious 1943 North African campaign in World War II, it seemed obvious that they next would invade Sicily. The challenge was to convince Hitler that they had other plans. To help accomplish this goal, "Operation Mincemeat" was developed-an elaborate scheme to fool Hitler into thinking they would invade the Balkans, not Sicily. The effort was a remarkable success. In his book about this operation, Ben Macintyre describes how much of this success was the result of a profound understanding of the art of deception. As Macintyre summarizes, planners succeeded because "deceit can only succeed if the deceived party is willing in some way to be deceived." What did he mean?

Planners discovered that some people within the German government (and its sympathizers) were willing to be deceived. Why? Some were eager for promotion or excessively confident. Others were eager to please or simply gullible. This is just one example of manipulation in action. But the original manipulator was Satan himself, who, as a serpent, "was more crafty than any beast of the field." Eve was deceived because she liked the rewards Satan offered. He sounded reasonable and made attractive promises...and she was manipulated. Each of us faces manipulation in many forms. We can be manipulated to believe the wrong ideas or to follow the wrong people. If we aren't careful, we can be talked into actions we'll later regret.

Ephesians 5:6 Let no one deceive you with empty words... 7. Therefore do not be partakers with them. 11. And have no fellowship with the unfruitfull work of darkness, but rather expose them. 12. For it is shamefull even to speak of those things which are done by them in secrete. 13. But all things that are exposed are made manifest by the light..John 8:12 "And Jesus spoke to them again, saying, I AM the Light of the world; he that follow Me shall not walk in darkness." 12:48. "He who rejects Me, and does not receive My Words has that which judges Him - the Word that I have spoke will judge Him."

Watch the latest on TV from the Arab world as the "dictatorship hemisphere" falls to democracy as military despots try desperately to cling on to their corrupt and evil empires. The writting is on the wall for you Voreqe Bainimarama, your days of reckoning is coming sooner then you expected. You will soon find out that God is still in controll in heaven, on earth and in Fiji - not you. [071240051107]

Aiyaz is the culprit here. All kaiviti do not ever forget that this guy is foccused on an agenda to destroy the indeginous traditional structure and the kaiviti's lotu. Have we forgotten his university thesis. Once the Fijian traditional structure is dismantled, then land and every other thing owned and cherished by i taukei is gone. Kaiviti shud never forget that. It is about time we rise and kick this guy out before it is too late.

@ Mark...OK, I think I can see the GATE to "OUR FIJI" beginning to swing open at last...but still as it is legally professed, they are innocent until proven guilty - deservedly or otherwise! For us,
the mission now is pretty obvious ...tick...tock...tick...tock...tick...tock...let the flies and gheckos on the wall talk tick...tock...tick tock...tick...tock and then we will sing and shout it from the roof top with absolute certainty and confidence that it is THEY all along ...tick...tock...tick...tock...tick...tock...watch these birds of prey flap their wings...tick...tock...tick...tock...

Mara and Driti are charged with "uttering seditious comments". But what are seditious comments? According to Wikipedia sedition is an act, something you do, not mere words. But the Aiyaz Crimes Decree attacks words and thoughts.

The section under which the pair have been charged is Section 67, which criminalises 'uttering seditious words'.

It doesn't confine this to uttering words before an angry crowd to force a violent overthrow of the government.

"Seditious words could almost be words uttered to no-one, except that it is assisted by Section 66 which defines "seditious intention". This is "an intention to bring into hatred or contempt or to excite disaffection against the Government of Fiji as by law established". Simply to excite "disaffection" is enough.

If the court is to convict them, however, it will have to consider in detail what is meant "by law established'. Does it mean no more than whatever is in Decrees Aiyaz has had rubber-stamped by the so-called cabinet? If that's the case any court's decision could be over-ruled by another decree the following day.

This looks extremely draconian, and it is, but the decree provides what is supposed to be a defence of free speech.

It says "'an act, speech or publication is not seditious by reason only that it intends-
(a) to show that the Government of Fiji has been misled or mistaken in any of its measures; or
(b) to point out errors or defects in the government or Constitution of Fiji as by law established or in legislation or in the administration of justice with a view to the remedying of such errors or defects; or
(c) to persuade the inhabitants of Fiji to attempt to procure by lawful means the alteration of any matter in Fiji as by law established; or
(d) to point out, with a view to their removal, any matters which are producing or having a tendency to produce feelings of ill-will and enmity between different classes of the population of Fiji."

It will be entertaining to see lawyers argue over the meaning of these words. Perhaps Mara and Driti were just pointing out "errors or defects in the government or Constitution of Fiji as by law established or in legislation or in the administration of justice with a view to the remedying of such errors or defects".

Who will the regime pick to handle this trial? It could be tried in the Magistrate's Court but it looks like another job for Mr Reliable, Daniel Goundar, who has somehow found himself sitting in judgement on all the big cases - the Qaranivalu (CJ Gates was for some reason unavailable) or Patel and Mau, to name just a couple of examples.

Another wonder of Aiyaz's decree is that we overseas don't have too miss out. Section 8 of his masterpiece extends its reach beyond Fiji to "any citizen of Fiji in any place outside of Fiji" or even "any resident of Fiji in any place outside of Fiji".

Be careful what you say about the regime that calls itself "the Government of Fiji as by law established". If you excite disaffection about them, even by uttering your words in another country, you have broken a law created by "the Government of Fiji as by law established'.
