President: I am not gutless ... the people have to act before I can do something

TAKING THE LEAD? Not yet.
The illegal president, Epeli Nailatikau, is reported to have told an advisor "I am not gutless."

Coupfourpointfive has been told by insiders that Nailatikau's comment is a response to the recent and repeated demands by people for him to "stop being gutless" and remove Frank Bainimarama from government.

Nailatikau and the regime were last week again at the crossroads, with insiders saying the regime was going to sack him within 24 hours because of claims he'd heldped  Roko Ului Mara, his brother-in-law, escape to Tonga.

Bainimarama dismissed the idea as mischief making but well-connected sources say the threat has been very real for some time and has become more so with Mara thwarting the regime.

The president is the only authority above Bainimarama and many people in Fiji believe it's time Nailatikau "stopped being gutless" and make use of his powers to topple the self-appointed government.

Coupfourpointfive has now been given an insiders' view of the discussions that have been taking place at government house and informally over a beer between advisors and Nailatikau, since the latest call for him to do something.

Insiders say the president has said "I am not gutless," adding: "People have been crying out on blogs sites and efforts are being made to draw me into a compromising position by declaring Frank's administration insolvent. Surprisingly, the international news agencies are carrying the same stories but the real solution to this lies in the hands of  the people of Fiji.

"How can they expect a HEAD of State to exercise his powers and intercept a running administration when the people themselves are roaming freely on streets singing and dancing - carrying on with their daily lives? Fiji currently has no instability and no complaints have been raised by the people of Fiji against Frank's administration."

Sources say the President feels the majority of people in Fiji are living a harmonious life in a secure and stable economy and nobody, even to the extent of a political party, has raised its voice against Bainimarama's administration.

They say he believes that "It doesn't matter what people say on blog sites or international media. The populace at home is at ease and the security forces in control of the national security - lobbying the Head of State through blogs is just like praying to win lotto without buying a ticket."

Insiders believe Nailatikau, who was handpicked by Bainimarama, is clearly stating that if the people of Fiji themselves can't stand up to Bainimarama's rule and are quietly accepting his policies, then he has no justification to exercise his powers.

But insiders also say that Nailatikau is also of the mind that "if people try to stand against the state with evidence and demand that the President take action, then the head of state can interfere in the normal running of a government".

Coupfourpointfive has been told that two Decrees (see below) have already been drawn up, allowing Nailatikau to sack Frank Bainimarama but that the President "can't act until there is a need to act."

Decree to sack Frank Bainimarama

Extraordinary Decree of President taking charge

  3. The only way to bring this corrupt empire down is to do a careful plan.

    Here it is:-

-if you are in NZ/Aus/USA or any other overseas country, call atleast 10-15 of your relatives and tell them what these two corrupt people are doing..

-There are only 3000 military personal in Fiji. Most of them are defintely related to some one who knows the truth about this regime, call and convince your military buddies to go against Baini/AG...

-the x-military man on ground are ready to take charge...

-let us unite as individuals and do what is right... things are getting dragged for long now..

  4. A peacefull freedom protest or march needs to be organised on the streets of suva. Its not that everybody is keeping quiet because they are "harmoniously singing and dancing" its because they know if they speak up individually they will be silenced, arrested, not mentioned in the media, punished & probly never heard of again. Lets face it - Bainibanana has taken our voices away & scared us into silence. In order to speak out we must all come together and peacefully & publicly protest, only then will our voices be heard. God bless Fiji!

  5. Yes, lets not forget that those who tried to stand against this regime have been taken to camp and tortured which has been confirmed by your own brother in law. Torturing of ones civilians by its government on the orders of the prime minister (words of your bro-in-law not mine) apparently is not reason enough for you to sack him....and you wonder why people are calling you gutless. I myself prefer describing you as a coward, chickensh*t, freerider to name a few.

  6. So this means he wants civil tension in fiji.....

come on people of fiji, the chiefs, all religious leaders, organise a massive march...

all decrees are in order.. lets give this president the reason to sack baini/AG...

  7. "It doesn't matter what people say on blog sites or international media."

Yes, it DOES matter. take heed of the people's voice

"the President feels the majority of people in Fiji are living a harmonious life in a secure and stable economy and nobody"

    UTTER NONSENSE.

"nobody, even to the extent of a political party, has raised its voice against Bainimarama's administration."

Doesn't he know that all dissent is banned in Taliban Fiji.

"the real solution to this lies in the hands of the people of Fiji."

It's an illegal taliban regime run by dictators Baini and Arse. Mr. President. The real bloodless solution is to sack this taliban regime before it gets any worse.

  11. The President is hopeless. He is gutless. isnt there enough evidence to show how AG Talibum is running the country. He put pressure on the judges to put Motibhai in Jail even after the three assessors found him ot quilty. They have shut down Fiji Times online. the other new media are all too gutless to report any anti govt news. The President want the people to speak up. we will all be sitting in jail if we spoke up. wake up and smell the Kava Bro. and yes where are the GCC. you all need to wake up also before its too late and the place is full of muslims. come on guys wake up and lets go to the streets and let the preso know how we really feel. lets strike - lets protest - lets do something.

    ReplyDelete
  12. I also agree, the only solution is now in the hands of the people.. let us all join hands and show our unity... and oust this illegal regime.

  13. A very poor excuse from a man who should have some honour. Nailatikau knows full well that the people cannot stand up - the Public Emergency Regulations which prevent them from doing so are extended IN HIS NAME every month.

Who's he trying to kid - he's the only person "singing" and "dancing" at the various parties where he gets his free liquor. Everyone else is sharpening their knives behind his back - and he knows it as well.

"Gutless" is too kind a description - he's a coward who prefers to stay drunk and receive his pay while the people he is supposed to lead lose their jobs and their families go hungry.

Sure, its a case of hoping to win the lottery without having purchased a ticket - at least there's hope there. For Nailatikau however it's a case of "none so blind as those who refuse to see" - and that is worst than not having hope.

May he rot in Hell for his cowardice. And may his forefathers judge him for the dishonour he has brought to their names.

  14. What planet is this clown on?

What planet is this blind guy from?

I guess the view from the white house up on the hill is far removed from the view we ordinary citizens see every time we look out of the windows of our homes we are still paying for with the sweat of our brows!

Sounds like the Kanaloto is too comfortable where he is and does not want to compromise his well paid position. Meanwhile, us poor serfs suffer under the stifling persecution.

But why does it not surprise me?

Eveli has never impressed as a man who achieved what he has through his own steam and capability. Everything he has achieved (Commander, Ambassador, Speaker and now President) is because of the name he bears. Quite frankly, he is as useless as tits on a bull and has no true leadership skills! Those that look up to the weakling know no better.

A true leader will save his people from suffering by doing what he has to do - Not ask them to risk themselves ....THEN stepping in!

His calibre and quality as a military officer is laid bare with his 'Charge' approach to leadership - this is when the officer stands at the back of his troops and gives the order to 'Charge'. The troops will of course, catch the bullets first!

Compare that to the 'Follow Me' approach. I need not elaborate.

    Na sonalevu ga, na sonalevu!

  17. Nailatikau really hit it on target. Nothing is happening to warrant presidential intervention. The machineries of govt runs noramally, the courts are operating as usual. Civil servants continue to receive their pay. Hospitals running as usual although under tough conditions. But Nailatikau saying that no one has spoken out is absurd knowing fully well that anyone speaking out will be subjected to torture etc.

  26. Actually, The President is right. Unless Fiji's citizens stand up and protest against the Baini government, than and only than can he put his decree into effect. Since people are not marching the street etc., he will not know the feeling of dissent amongst Fiji citizens.

I know that you will all say its because of the PER or the many decrees hence no voice. But he has to have a good justification to sack the Baini government. That justification is for people to actually physically protest in the streets of Suva. In a way you could say his actually opening a window of opportunity for protest me thinks. Its the people who have the power to make the President sack Baini.

His actually given his ok for a protest so that he can put into action his decrees.

"Coupfourpointfive has been told that two Decrees (see below) have already been drawn up, allowing Nailatikau to sack Frank Bainimarama but that the President "can't act until there is a need to act." ".

Question for you. Why make a standby decree if president was expecting something from citizens? his given his "A OK" for all Citizen of Fiji to make a stand. Just by making the two decrees. Vinaka

Forget about his saying that his gutless and his involvement in this coup for the time being that will be dealt with when we are back to democratic rule. Work within the system these thugs have set. Since he is currently the head of Fiji he has So basically he has given his all clear and actually encouraging Citizens to do something without saying as much.

  28. Oso C4.5 - nice topic for us to vent on the spineless pressie! Totally agree with The Oracle, Mao and the Anonymouses. The president cannot justify his stand and silence especially in the view of whats happened. As I recall everything was functioning quite well under Qarase's multiparty government when these idiots decided they'd like to take over government. If they could do it then, don't see why they can't do it now. Maybe because this time Mr Pressie the guns are on the other side? It would be better if you just admit you're lamusona and that Bainikhaiyum has you by the balls.

Fijians couldn't care less. They are getting lots of free hand outs. When the hand puppets comes to visit we give hime a whales tooth. His ego goes through the roof and he spends millions on us. not 1 square metre of our land has been taken (and it won't) and we still run the show.
The indo Fijian sugar farmers on the other hand have lost out big time. So where is the problem? when the hand puppet stops his freebies, and gets in a corner, we'll gut him....the military is Fijian, remember.....

  35. We have been duped again. It was wishful thinking on our part to ever think Nailatikau would have the guts to take a stance against this monster.

Ask yourselves why did Nailatikau and his wife get involved in the coup in the first place? The answer, was they had no money to keep them in the lifestyle they were accustomed to and no money in Fiji comes the loss of the status they were born into. They compromised the respect and trust of the people for their own selfish gains.

I thought it was too good to be true if Nailatikau had the guts to do something and expose the Monster to the world. This would be the first step in the removal of the Monster and something the Monster would not want to happen. Nailatikau and his wife would then be left with nothing and we know they wouldn't in anyway have that happen to them. The Monster is seen to the world that all is well in Fiji and Nailatikau and his wife get to live at Govt House paid by Fiji's taxpayers.

All remains well in Alice's Wonderland. Bula o Nailatikau, his wife, Bai & Khaiyum the monsters, mata na Kai Viti.

It would have been easy for the Tui Dreketi and Ratu Joni, the former President to support they relatives but they chose not to as they didn't want to compromise their core principle beliefs.

These two wonderful people have had to go out and fend for themselves but haven't lost our respect and trust.

For the time being lets soldier on, for eventually we will somehow get our democracy back. The Mara that is in Tonga will not do it for us from Tonga, it has to come within the Military stationed at QEB, Fiji.

Like the tourists let make out all is well in Fiji.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Well, I just cannot help but want to respond to this latest absurdity. All is well in Pardise??? I think not.

So, everyone is on the meal ticket and, no, friends, I don't mean us! The ones that aligned themselves to this regime when it took charge want to have their cake and cocktails too!

Gutless wonder is actually too kind a word. The bloggers are the only ones, because of their semi-quasi lack of identity that dare to voice their opinions and speak the truth. (We ALL know what happens to the others!)What has been said already is more than true. (Thank-you Oracle. I love you guy!)

This is all about the test of a man. There are no men running this country and you Ione, take the cake. It all makes sense now. The police, the judiciary (such as it is) and the government are being controled by three men.

This tells me definitively why people, such as myself, who went to these three sources for justice got nothing but the run around FOR THE PAST FIVE YEARS!

So, now my dear countrymen (women), we have a moose figurehead Pres saying and encouraging US to take command of the situation, because he is too weak and compensated (not) to do it himself. Don't let anyone tell you that blood is thicker than water. It's not. Money is what binds these criminals together.

And believe me when I say that they are selling out our country like a chop shop: piece meal to the highest bidder. No worry to them. They have all packed their golden parachutes and have palaces built elsewhere. They have been planning this ever since they took over almost five years ago.

The story of two frogs: you put one in a pot of cold water. You put a second into a pot of boiling water. The first, not realizing that the heat is slowly increasing over time adapts by degrees only to be cooked alive. The second, recognizing how blistering hot the water is, jumps out immediately. My friends, we are the first.

HOW MANY COUNTRIES have a Prez that actually has the nerve to INCITE the people to try to confront the illigitimate who carry weapons???? In any other country this would be called a plea to the public to commit MASS GENOCIDE.

Do ya get it???? We are COOKED because we have no means to stand down a military regime, cocked and fully loaded with money, (yours by the way) and bullets to do it. What do we matter to the rest of the world that could act in our defense? Not enough apparently. At least not enough unless we provide a weekly series featuring blood and guts.

Yes, we can all patiently wait for the scorpions to take one another out (and they will do it in time only to be replaced by others of their ilk). What I fear is, by that time, there will be nothing left to pick up in Fji but body bags. John Galt

  37. Enough talk. Lets Make this march happen. Date's need to be set, the message needs to be spread. Strike's need to take place.

The more people who attend the more powerful it will be and the louder our voices will be.

We need a leader/committee & people with contacts for organisation. A name and plan for the protest such example: " Fiji Freedom March" Come to "meeting point in town" wear "red and carry Fiji flag" ect ect....Cmon People.

If this happens & Make sure YOU show up. Every single person that comes will make a difference! Come together Viti! They cant arrest us all!

    ReplyDelete
  38. What the President said is true in normal times but things are not normal in Fiji. Oh yes people go about their daily lives without complaining. But think again Mr President. Why? Because the government has virtualy forced them into silence through the media decree and PER. Where does he think the people should take their complaint? How does he think the people should lodge their complaint? As long as the PER and media decree are in place there will be no voice of decent forthcoming from the populace.

Look at the Mara case, which is a mere breach of bail condition. The reaction from the government is unproportional. In normal times under an ordinary elected government these things would never happen, because there are laws and rules in place that regulate actions in such circumstances.

If the President really wants to know the will of the people he has only to lift the PER and allow freedom of speech; then they will see the fun, the reality of what we the people think about this regime.
