Insiders have revealed information about Kamlesh Arya, the 'veteran unionist', who in recent days has been supporting the military regime's campaign to scare off Australian and New Zealand trade unions from taking industrial action.
Arya, the former president of the Arya Pratinidhi Sabha of Fiji, has been revealed as having for many years lived off the cuts he and his associates have made from all multi-million dollar constructions works done for school and Fiji University.
Sources say work on his recent Fiji University Library project in Lautoka has been done by a local company, (Engineer Procure Construct (Fiji) Ltd), which is run by a foreign non-FNPF paying employer. The company was given a tender by Arya for more than $1.1 million while the lowest tender was $650,000.00. It is also believed the EPC director, Vijay Zutshi, is raking in millions of dollars in revenue from FEA projects and showing losses to the FTIB.
Arya, Fiji's former ambassador to Australia, is said to have collected more than $150,000 in commission from being the President of the Arya Sabha. He has also tried to reallocate other district funds to the main body of Sabha for construction deals, and when rejected by the district affiliates, made moves to have elections and have Presidents changed.
Arya has been helping the regime thwart the current interest by Australian and New Zealand unions in taking industrail action against Qantas and Air Pacific to hurt the illegal regime.
He has attacked unionsts Felix Anthiny, Daniel Urai and Rajeswhar Singh, saying: “I think some of these guys are now losing the luxuries they enjoy and they went to Australia to resurrect themselves through international imposition in Fiji to show that they that they are the high and mighty of the union movement and if they are not taken care of they will lose their status – it is going to affect their ego now."
But as sources says he's riding the gravy train himself.

Can FTU treasurer tell us what happened to the $4000 or $5000 that was given by Australian Teachers Union in 2000/2001 given in the hands of Kamlesh Arya as their humanatarian donation for a particular purpose. What happened to that money?

Honesty seems to have no meaning for politicians.. Afterall whenever whoever is in strong position, the opposition has always found corruption to talk about against them!

Everyone is a master of our own destiny, whether Khaiyum or Khamlesh chooses to support the regime, they know fully well what ends hold. Mahen, Roko Ului, Anthony, Urai and realized too late that the crocodile they are feeding also wants more then what they are feeding him and opting to look for ways to kill the croc. Unfortunately most of these union leaders dont believe in God, so they will suffer here and also suffer in hell. The only thin that is good for the croc is a bullet, bomb and a grand alliance. That was how Hitler, Mussolini and other Dictators including Hoshni, Assad and Gaddafi. To Arya and Khaiyum, one day Mafatu!
I may have missed this but has any of these other ex-regime bed mates (apart from Ului Mara) volunteered investigation into their involvements whilst with the regime, especially Felix and Daniel? Like others have stated before, we should not have people invovled with the regime stand for public office or leadership of any ngo. They have enjoyed the highlife but have fallen short of the mark. They should show some integrity now (however late) and stand down. If they want involvement then they should atone for their sins and volunteer their services as advisors for whatever course they believe in (for FREE). All those involved should be taken to task.

I am a bit reluctant to say that all that is happening in Fiji is being planned and orchestrated by those or a few behind the scene. It is sad that this illegal regime belongs to the Indians, the Fijians or Itaukei are being ruled by Indians, whom once they have enough in their pocket eave whilst Kai Viti sa rawa ga ni lai tei tavioka i nakoro..
