Inclusion of military soldier sure to create further division between NZ and Fiji

The fate of military soldier and rugby player, Leone Nakarawa, remains to be seen after he was named in the Fiji squad for the Rugby World Cup and presumably next week's test match against the All Blacks in Dunedin.

Nakarawa is believed to be only soldier in the 35-strong squad named by coach Sam Domoni. But just how Fiji intends to get him to New Zealand for next Friday's game in Dunedin and the September world cup is unclear.

By all that's right, Nakarawa shouldn't be granted a visa to travel to New Zealand because of the sanctions against Fiji military. The illegal regime and the Fiji Rugby Union board have, however, chosen to include him in the squad.

Foreign Affairs Minister, Murray McCully, says Nakarawa is not listed among the 22 Fijian players who will visit New Zealand and he has not applied for a visa. He also said New Zealand Government policy has not been softened. Where does that then leave Nakarawa? Probably in the middle as New Zealand and Fiji battle it out for a show of strength.

NAKARAWA
The full squad is as follows:
Campese Ma’afu, Sunia Koto, Deacon Manu (captain), Ifereimi Rawaqa, Sekonaia Kalou, Dominiko Waqaniburotu, Akapusi Qera, Sisa Koyamaibole, Vitori Buatava, Seremaia Bai, Napolioni Nalaga, Ravai Fatiaki, Albert Vulivuli, Vereniki Goneva, Iliesa Keresoni, Setefano Somoca, Viliame Veikoso, Rupeni Nasiga, Sakiusa Matadigo, Nemia Ranuku, Kini Murimurivalu, Timoci Nagusa, Netani Talei, Waisea Nailago, Adriu Delai, Nicky Little, Leone Nakarawa, Wame Lewaravu, Penijamini Makutu, Gabiriele Lovobalavu, Talemaitoga Tuapati, Ilikena Bolakoro, Malakai Ravulo, Waisea Luveniyali, Waisele Vatuvoka.

Two other players – Asaeli Boko and Metuisela Talebula – are also attached to the squad.

  8. I can see Inoke Male from Raralevu Bau Tailevu in the picture with illegal Pfresident and FRU coach.

Is he also going to NZ with the Fiji Team? If this is so, then everyone in FRU management and Fiji Team management are just too arrogant.

Male should not go because to the eyes of the world, though he is no longer in the SPINELESS Fiji Army, he is still the Fiji Army.

Why? because he served the Army throughout all these COUP COUP days and did not leave until t was time for him to retire recently.

NZ GOVERNMENT - BE AWARE OF THIS.........

  9. Old military tactic - provocation.

Suggest Vore's time would be better spent on more serious matters such as the ailing Sugar industry.

  14. Talemo Waqa said that they are aware of the travel ban, and the FRU is working with the NZRU and the IRB on that.
Is this the mentallity of the people employed by the Military led FRU??? If this is the comment from the assistant manager of the team that will go to the RWC, I just dont understand what other meaning of the word BAN means to him.
To Talemo Waqa and the FRU officials. This is my advice to you if you dont understand what the NZ Govt meant when they said "All personnel with ties to the FMF will not be allowed to NZ" To me as an ordinary Fijian and understand basic english, it means they are not going to allow anyone into their country regardless of what and how we may try to let them bend their law.
Amd to Talemo Waqa, The NZRU overlooks the running of rugby in NZ and not the enforcing of the Law of the Land which the honourble Minister for Foreign Affair has reiterated since the ban wa implemented.
The IRB oversees and controls running of the rugby nations. The two bodies have nothing to do with the Law of NZ. They just merely deal with the laws of the oval ball game.
My advice is pretty simple. Drop Nakarawa and take another player who can play his position. To prevent further humiliation on the players reputation, dont use him as a rugby ball. You as a manager should protect his reputation as an upcoming player. Dont use him as a bargaining tool. There are a few good players in the present squad. Just pick one of them and save this young man's soul. You shold know better and dont show your lack of diplomatic understanding like the stupid Illegal PM.
As a manager of the FRU, you should understand the Laws of all the countries affiliatted with the IRB and respect their Laws. You can't go around trying to tell them to change their Laws to suite yoru agenda. That doesn't work in a democratic country like NZ or Aust. It will work for those two countries of they want something to work for them in Fiji. Because Fiji has no Laws. I am bold to say that cos there is no Constitution.
So my advce to you Talemo, you have a lot of homework to do before you go with the team to NZ. And do bear in mind, if you are going to keep on tempering with the issue, teh NZ Govt has the right to deny you a Visa, weather you are a military pers or not. They have every right to do so. So do your homework now and dont listen to that Junta Chairman.
Go Fiji!!! Thumbs Up To Democracy!!!!
