Khaiyum's aunt eyes profitable food company

The aunt of the illegal attorney general, Nur Bano Ali, is said to be hoping to buy Food Processors Ltd, the profitable public enterprise her nephew is putting up for sale.

Sources say the appointed consultant for the review and sale on approved Cabinet papers is Ali's accounting firm, which is being paid the sum of eight hundred thousand.

ALI: Well-connected and well paid.
The company has been government owned for 25 years and deals primarily with food manufacturing, specialising in processing, canning, packaging local fruits, vegetables, root crops and marine products for the local and export market.

The paper for the sale was pushed and approved in cabinet by the Permanent Secretary for trade and commerce, Saipora Mataikabara, on the orders of illegal AG, Aiyaz Sayed Khaiyum.

Khaiyum recently arranged the sale of the Rewa Dairy Co-operative and the Government Printery as part of the illegal government's structural reform aimed at saying on operating costs.

Insiders say Nur Bano Ali's accounting firm was paid $700,000 just over a week ago for the final payment on the consultancy of Rewa Dairy restructure. The total payment was two million dollars.

  7. There is too much war of words going on in this blog!!!! There wont be any election at all in 2014... The Corrupt Evil Dictator Bainivuaka will Rule Fiji until he dies and then rot in hell with all his evildoings, creed and corruption.... SCUM OF THE EARTH

Actions speaks louder than words!!! There is no point arguing here all the time because we are meeting a dead end... We'll be arguing here till the end of time if nothing is done about this Illegal Evil Corrupt Regime.

People of Fiji are the most SCARED people in the wholewide world. I have high respect for the people of the Middle East like Syria, Yemen, Egypt, Lybia etc. Kids as young as 9 joined the uprising to dethrone their Evil Dictator, the likes of Mubarak and Gadaffi etc whereas in Fiji grown-ups cant even say a bad thing about the Evil Dictator Bainivuaka in public for fear of getting taken to Qauri Elauvutu Barracks(QEB) to be beaten up and tortured...

FREEDOM NO LONGER EXIST IN FIJI BECAUSE OF THE EVIL CORRUPT REGIME THAT TERRORISES AND INFLICTS FEAR TO THE GENERAL POPULATION... BAINIVUAKA YOUR DAYS ARE NUMBERED!!!! BURN IN HELL YOU ARROGANT CREEDY BASTARD!!!

  17. Full or partial equity proposal with ideas to be the best applicant is a big farce in Fiji.

Those who corrupt the officials will just take the comnmercial idea to amulgamate for those who are corruptly favoured as always.

And I am baffled to the $2m paid to Noor Bano for Rewa Dairy consultation.

What was the sale price of Rewa Dairy if consultation itself is $2million?

It is not the legal role of an Interim Government to sell State owned enterprises and therefore is abuse of office.

If IG cannot run these businesses, then rid the IG and not the company that is statutory owned and setup to support the micro farms for removing poverty.

New private owners will manipulate pricing at farm gate for maximum return on investment, hence these businesses are to remain with the State.

If Noor Bano was paid $2m consultation, maybe for $2m upgrade of Rewa Dairy would have had a better outcome for the dairy farms.

Or now that it is sold, will the Govt open up milk facories in Fiji or will protect one company only?

  18. Many of the importers in the region were both shocked and saddened when the FTIB circulated the news a week ago. Sad, because no notice given, even out of courtesy, of the intent to dispose off to the private sector one of Governments remaining Corporation.

Many importers have advance manufacturing orders under their respective labels. Now, all may be uncertain as no gurantee of continuity of same terms given. We know of a major importer suddenly taken ill after hearing the news and has not been seen in him place of business for a couple of days, very unprecedented for a hard working former Fiji resident.

Where goes an earlier proposition to corporatize the “Business arm” of our Prison Department that now has potential to increase varied crops yield to continuously supply Food Processors. May be they would be best run the manufacturing corporation as few of Fiji's best ,experienced and brilliant Business brains are incarcerated.

We do hope though that Rear Admiral Bainimarama is fully aware of the economic reefs that's churning us like a washing machine...we hope he is in control of MV Fiji..or is he quiting soon??

…phew!!...we hope Ports Authority, Airports and the now state of art Fiji Broadcasting Corporation are NOT in the sales and "shopping list" for those in the know.

  20. If the union leaders recieved in some FNFP directors fees more than they should have then why doesnt the dictator get the FICAKE to charge them?

This is like he said RUM is part of Fiji pine 3 million fraud, which proved to be lie.

The best thing for the puppet and the master is to give themselves up and stand trial for their crimes as the people of fiji will do this one day.

    Justice will come.
