Maori Party co-leader promises to relay Fiji woes to NZ Govt

The Maori Party co-leader, Tariana Turia, says she will pass on to the New Zealand government information she has been given about Fiji's political woes by the former 3FIR army officer, Roko Ului Mara.

Roko Ului met with Turia yesterday in a bid to raise awareness of the deteriorating political crisis in Fiji.

In an interview with Te Karere, Turia said the changes and the major overhaul Fiji's illegal attorney general, Aiyaz Sayed Khaiyum, had carried out in Fiji was tantamount to the colonising of Maori by the British settlers.

Mara returns from Wellington to Auckland for a rally tonight at the Papatoetoe Town Hall at 5pm. Also speaking tonight are: Jone Baledrokadroka, Felix Anthony, Josai Rasiga with messages to be read from former deposed prime minister Laisenia Qarase and former PM and Fiji Labour Party leader, Mahendra Chaundhry.

  4. At least RUM is doing something to try and get Fair and honest Democratic Elections for the Fijian People not hiding in the Barracks polishing their shoes and being frightened to do anything or say anything against the cowardly Goons and Toads of the Illegal Dictators Junta.

  5. Well, it clear and plain for all to see, the Maori People, built on the values of their culture and who pay homage and respect to the heirachy within their community and also external communities which impact their way of living, have clearly shown this mark of respect to a young chief from a recognised chiefly family.
They simply have no time for idiots who push their own agenda to dessimate the culture and social structure within an indeginous community.....re:British colonists on the Maori people and now, the Hitler agenda, re:sunset clause, by Khaiyum and Bainimarama......valoloma o iko Voreqe.....your name will be known through the entire generation of indeginous Fijians as the clan who attempted to eradicate Fijian Culture and Values from the face of the earth....shame on your name forever....
