Roko Ului Mara calls on Catholic Church to reject Peoples Charter and urges people to start 'civil resistance'

Mataca with John Samy and Bainimarama
Fiji's second biggest church has been urged to withdraw its support for the Peoples Charter and get behind the current push to reclaim democracy.

The Catholic Church has supported the People's Charter from the start with Archbishop Petero Mataca even co-chairing the National Council for Building a Better Fiji along with the illegal leader, Frank Bainimarama.

The controversial Charter (the supposed way forward for Bainimarama's 'new Fiji') has been widely rejected but Mataca has continued to promote it, and Bainimarama.

The pro-democracy campaign is now calling on the Catholic Church to show political nous and unite with the country's biggest church, the Methodist Church, against the regime.

Roko Ului Mara has released a statement saying: "Now is the hour to support the Methodist Church against the tyranny and evil of the Fiji military junta.  What the evil military junta is doing to the Methodist Church and to Fiji is not right and we can not just stand aside and watch. Please lend your support to the Methodist Church and withdraw your support for the Peoples Charter."

In another statement titled "Another Dictator Falls," Mara has also hailed the people of Libya for ousting Colonel Muammar Gaddafi saying: "The oppressed and long-suffering people of Fiji are also taking a stand against Bainimarama’s evil, corrupt and brutal regime. They will no longer “turn the other cheek!”

MARA
He is also urging people to support the Viti Revolutionary Forces and to take up civil disobedience.

"VRF have also started their campaign to remove the illegal military junta and to return freedom, democracy and the rule of law to Fiji. Lend your support.

"Stand up and denounce the oppressive and illegal military junta led by the murdering power mad Bainimarama and Khaiyum. Support the Methodist Church. Start civil resistance now. Go on leave, distribute confidential documents and ignore orders or lend your support however you can.

"Together, like the brave and valiant people of Libya, we will remove, in the very near future, the tyrant Bainimarama and his evil, corrupt and brutal regime. And together, we will rebuild Fiji."

The sooner democracy comes, the better for the people of Fiji. I am switching sides as we, the Tappoo family think that we have done lots of corrupt deals and do not want to go to hell as my father Kanji has ended up paying fir his sins. We, the Tappoo family reunite with the pro democracy movement to bring peace to a country run by an evil, liar and crook. Bai and AG, I am talking about you and your corrupt assholes. You screwed the people of Fiji and it's time the Tappoo family switches sides. Will you chop my hands off for writing like this? I am scared and cannot sleep at night. You asshole Bai/AG. We need to let those who live in Fiji to decided. The Methodist Church is not the voice of reason during these difficult days-as it had showed its true colours in the past. Why pick on the Catholics what about the other Religions in Fiji or the breakaway Methodist Groups! When ever it is convinient we get those who seek to promote themselves for whatever agendas they have, get up and say stupid things-this is one of those occasions. Roko Ului-Please lets leave those who are in Fiji to sort the mess out.Roko Ului needs to have good look at himself fist before even "preaching" to those he left behind. He needs to get a grip on reality-it was the Methodist Church that supported the likes of Rabuka & others that followed, the Catholic Church has always stood for fairness and treated all citizens of Fiji equally-whilst our good old Methodist Church wanted a fragmented society -kept apart by racial divided, which would have kept the ordinary Fijians as "slaves" to a Colonial inheritence! Slaves to would be Chiefs and Slaves to those who would be "politicias" in the guise of Church Ministers! If people think that thieving was going on in Govt one needs to ask the Methodist Leaders "where has all the money collected overseas for the last few years for the rebuilding of the Centenary Church gone". Thats funds now over $1million.Look at these Church Ministers now, one senior one changes his 4 wheel drive every year! And i challenge anyone to say i am lying! They dress up in suites even those who work in Business, Drs & lawyers can't afford-yet thet tell the ordinary people-don't be a"slave" to money! Hallelueyah-Praise Gods work!People in Fiji have finally had enough-Frank may be or may not be the answer but it sure beats the likes of other Govts that came before of note was the Qarase Govt! Maybe the Fijian people have become a bit wiser the last few years and realised that they were getting conned for too long by their so called Leaders? Has anyone thought of that, maybe the guilt of the wrongs that were done to others under our "Fijian advancement program" yeh good name only the children of the rich & well connected advanced & got scholarships has finally hit home, maybe they have just had enough of the "bull" and decided since we stuffed it up, we will clean it up.Not Roko Ului-who swam for his life, not Baledrokadroka who has blood on his hands, not Daunitutu who no one knew existed till now-can't put pen to paper if his life was on the line, not the runaway politicians who now live in NZ or Australia OR Maybe our people just don't give a damn any more!

THE FIJIAN REVOLUTION: THE THREE R's: RESIST, REVOLT, RULE

By Ratu Sugama

It has become apparent to most Fijians that the ILLEGAL AND TREASONOUS BAINIKHAIYUM REGIME does not represent the interests of the Fijian people.

The gap between rhetoric and reality in Fijian life is so large that no one believes what they are hearing from the hostile elites that dominate public discourse.

Fiji as it has been known for about 150 years has been wiped out more cleanly than if it had been defeated in a sudden war.

The Fijian society is a shambles and the Fijian economy slips more every day but most would, and will, be surprised to learn just how much further it can deteriorate before the situation can be termed critical.

We hold no illusions about ever being able to realize anything concrete through the Corrupt Courts of Fiji.

There is no way for Fiji to attain redress using constitutional measures. The battle to save Fijian Culture from extinction will be fought not in the Halls and Courts of Fiji, but among the hedge-rows and in the streets of Fiji.

The voices and opinions of BainiKhaiyum's Illegal and Treasonous System might put forth varying opinions on any topic or issue save one: US. We are now and forever strictly O-U-T! But we know why we are out and they know why we are out so there should be no conflict on that. They are the Corrupt and Treasonous Establishment; we are the Revolution.

These are the rules, of their choosing, not ours. But they are the reality of a situation as harsh as it is immutable. IT IS WAR. Only a fool and a weakling would ask for it to be otherwise.

There is no need of revolution in a healthy State and society and indeed there can be no talk of it. Each revolution has been preceded by the SELLING OUT of the existing ruling class. And who else but they are in charge of all the building blocks of a civilization's government, church, profession, military, arts, etc.? These things all go when the ruling class sells out and becomes decadent, unfit to rule any longer. This amounts to total revolution.

We're talking about quite a large body of people who have sold out, or, perhaps better put, have burnt out.

Not to remove them will be to see another Africa arise in the Pacific.

The Methordist church has learned the lesson from supporting a coup in 87.This is the reason why it is not so stupid enough to support any other. ALL COUPS ARE NOT RIGHT.
talatalas do use the money with the approval of the members, because members know they are answerable to god. what about the salary of you people and the trips with your families overseas and the monies your are taking. can any of you compare that ???. we rely on god and you rely on bainimarama.

The Methodist have to bare their own cross. Thats the nature of the beast, the survival of the fittest. If the Methodist can survive this round, that I am sure they will, they will continue toprovide salt and light in Fiji for 176 more years. God bless Fiji and the leaders of the Methodist Church.

"Revelations about the CRW" Here is the ultimate revelations Ratu Rabukas ARMY!-ask Rabuka why he formed such a specialised group for such a samll place like FIJI, who answered directly to HIM? It was his assurances for having a private ARMY at his calling, in time of his needs! But it all backfired!Ever wondered why captian Stevens is still not talking?

Anonymous said...

Has the Methodist Church really learnt its lesson on coups? Part of the learning process s to get rid of dead woods who started you off on the wrong path and to go apologise to all the people of the Land not just the Fijians that you harmed! Has the Methodist Church done either one of these? So far we still see faces from the Rabuka coups-people are not that dumb!

so stupid to understand because you have to go to school first you blockhead.

Don't make up lies to back your yarn. The Methodist Church has not gone fundraising for the Centenary Church. Nor does its talatala dress up in smart clothes better than lawyers etc. The suits they wear are just the ordinary ones available locally to all citizens of Fiji. I agree that the choice of cars maybe too grand for faithful servants of the Lord for such a small country as Fiji - but it is nowhere done in hyprocritical fashion as you are suggesting.

Also it was never supporting colonial masters - but was on watch against new masters who crept in cunningly desiring to take total control of this country.

Annon 12.17. What a mouthful there.. You come here with your hearsay and challenges. Anyone reading this would think the Catholic Church is PURE, PERFECT and SPOTLESS...
Well, I'd like to tell you something.. Here is a child born out of wedlock to Catholic parents and abandoned for reasons only known to them. After 18 years of my life while at Uni I got to meet this woman who was my biological mother . The point here is my Catholic parents abandoned me and a Methodist Orphanage took me in, gave me a roof over my head and food on my plate.. Loved me unconditionally and nurtured me to what I am today.
Please, no one is perfect. You go on and on and it just reeks of hatred, for what, I wonder?? You have no idea what sacrifices the Methodist Church has endured in looking after their members . What their members give them back is done at freewill . Please kindly note, THIS CHURCH WILL SURVIVE COME WHAT MAY....

Just chek it out, the Methodist Church n the Catholic with all its money cannt do that.

One would have thought that the good old and senile Archbishop Mataca would have by now stood up for the Methodist Church. And also the good old pedophile priest Kevin Barr!!!! Not to mention the so called Bishop Qiliho, the so called father of the sadist and luvenisala Sitiveni Qiliho!!!!
They seem to be very quite as of late. I wonder why?

Anonymous said...

Come, come, now. The old and senile Mataca was the FIRST and ONLY head of any Christian denomination to get on the band wagon and support the ILLEGAL regime by co-chairing the launch of the so called Charter!!!!
The rest of the respectable heads of other denominations were NOT as stupid and short-sighted as Mataca.
As far as the REST of other denominations are concerned the Catholic Church is behind all this torture, this rape , this abuse, this stealing, this suffering , as soon as Mataca got on the bandwagon!!!! PERIOD.

Anonymous said...

Remember that old saying - " The buck stops with the Boss"
Unfortunately, that is the reality in life and THAT is how the Catholics stand in the eyes of the REST of us CHRISTIANS!! Thank you but no thank you!!
