Can someone tell us where do the developers get their money from? The former chairman of AFL is involved in this developement, what is his role and whether is he the local content of the business? Is this another fraud case that Aiarse is arranging with FNPF chairman to be funded by FNPF. The company who wants to set this up do not have credibility to get funding from any investor and why is Aiarse rattling about the penalty rather than the advantages of having the casino in Fiji. Now with the casino out od the Denarau compound which is more secure in all aspect of the term develop they chose a cheap development site to no cost to the i Taukei land owners ( land security is in question). Let us see if Aiarese and Frank have anything better to say about the casino now we know that is going to be built. on Last roll of the dice for Fiji's casino developers?

RALLY 2ND SEPTEMBER: SUPPORT HUMAN RIGHTS IN FIJI

RALLY: Friday, 2 September 2011
11:00 AM-12:00 PM
FIJI CONSULATE
100 Walker Street
North Sydney

On Friday 2 September Daniel Urai, President of the Fiji Trade Union Congress and General Secretary of the National Union of Hospitality, Catering and Tourism Industries Employees, and his union organiser Nitin Gounder, are scheduled to appear in the Nadi Magistrates Court in Fiji charged with unlawful assembly.

Both men were detained and questioned at Nadi Police Station overnight on 3 August and charged next day, apparently for having met with and advised union members regarding pending collective negotiations with hotel management.

The harassment and intimidation of unionists in Fiji is perpetrated by the military

regime of Commodore Frank Bainimarama, under a series of Decrees which have stripped away civil and trade union rights, imposed strict press censorship, abolished minimum wages and conditions of employment, and terminated existing collective agreements.

A high-level delegation from Fiji Trade Union Congress attended ACTU Executive in July and provided a comprehensive update of developments in Fiji. The delegation comprised FTUC General Secretary Felix Anthony, FTUC President Daniel Urai, and FTUC Assistant Secretary Rajeshwar Singh.

With the worsening situation and passage of further Decrees, the Director General of the International Labour Organization dispatched a senior ILO fact-nding delegation to Fiji from 11-13 August, to assess the country’s compliance with its

obligations under ILO Conventions on Freedom of Association and Collective Bargaining.

As for the ILO delegation meeting with the Airline Unions there was some disappointment that they only met with the Air Pacific CEO and not the workers unions. The Air Pac CEO would have given them his point of view and unfortunately that would have been the only side of the story the delegation would have heard, shame on you ILO!!!.From reliable American sources the flying qualifications of the Air Pac CEO are somewhat debatable as he was a failed pilot and was never good enough to make Captain which he states otherwise on his colorful CV.This explains why he is so against the local staff of Air Pac,especially Pilots,Cabin Crew and Engineers. In case you have not made the comparison he is somewhat similar to the AG.They are both failed people in their line of work but have the gift of the gab to make people believe in their bullshit!!
