Army officers who should've been investigated by Koroi

Some of the soldiers who acted against the people of Fiji in the 2006 coup have already been named. Others haven't and can now be revealed in the following document - a compilation of complaints at CID headquarters - before Jim Koroi was appointed Police Commissioner and put a stop to all investigations. The procedural document - aimed at ascertaining "what laws were being broken" by the army in the takeover - will (along with many others) ensure the complaints can be revisited and the offenders brought to justice.

If these allegations were not investigated at the time it was reported; they will never be investigated at all. Too much water under the bridge!

But what a shame the sort of treatment being carried out by members of the military against its own citizens!

God Bless Fiji!!

I haven't heard or read of some of these assaults before, obviously the victims were afraid to even tell human righsts groups. Hope there's justice somewhere or sometime for them. As a citizen of Fiji it's what I'd like to see happen.

This is probably only the tip of the ice berg. There were many numerous cases of human rights violation that people have not reported.

Fiji without a doubt is a dictatorship and anyone who doubts it should make a statement against the military while in Fiji to confirm this.

Oh we rest assured the current commissioner Brid. Gen is already compling these docuemnts and sending them to Australia.

Bravo compol for nice work against the MOF frank

Are you kidding? This is all very minor. And some of it - like setting up roadblocks - is ridiculous.

I'm sorry but people get assaulted in Fiji every day of the week. A history lesson about events five years ago doesn't do anything for me. Anywhere else in the world, some of these people would have been shot.

We have creditable information that current compol, aziz and AG are ploting to coup frank.

They have picked up speed as pm is due to bring more changes this week as new ps will be appointed and few ministers are chopped. Its inline with the paper you published C4.5 a while ago (good work).

Also note that the whole RFMF suports pm making changes for elections and he needs to bring teleni back.

Iowane, do the needful, and we will support you! You're not another Bai. Look at what he is doing to you and to Fiji. You're too proud and patriotic to let this go on. Help us restore our liberties, and the generations will bless your name.

And Shameem had the nerve to say that there was no evidence of Human Rights abuse.

I agree. So many brush aside the things they cannot comprehend - even soldiers do it.

These collective reports are compiled on daily basis and treated as cases of interest received from all around stations and are treated seriously, their records are kept for future enquiries and will be investigated. The compiles are from the MSR (Morning Situation Reports). They will all be investigated and all those responsible will be taken into account and face the consequences of the law. No stones will be left un turned. Yes, their time will come!!!

The closest I got to Nashat Shameem was when she came in for my 'causing death by dangerous driving and under the influence of alcohol' in 1997.

Honestly I really looked up to her for her legal views contributed positively to my case.

Today I really do not know what are happening with her except what I read in this blog about her; mostly negative comments, that she is part of the Military Government Regime 2006 - 2012+ with her husband and an alleged Muslim Taliban network with her cousin Aiyas Sahed Khaiyum as its Head.

NEED MORE NEWS ABOUT HER...

Jimi Koroi is back at police HQ. He was appointed advisor by the illegal PM to look into leaks from Fiji police and invesitage some of the cases.

Everything counts and when the time comes every scrap of information will be useful. Hopefully, people other than 'authorities' are keeping track of who did what and when. Some of us are already cashing in on the information with articles and books etc and the information must be kept uncorrupted

I want to ask some questions.

i) Where were the Police and why the could not act to stop?

ii) That 2006 coup had been simmering for some long time and years, what were the counter plans from the police?

iii) 1997 constitution had been used by Frank to draw his authority from, why did those provisos in the 1997 constitution written that way?
