Coup apologist Robin Nair has resigned as director of the University of Fiji's Centre for International and Regional Affairs after a fall out with the Vice Chancellor, Mahendra Kumar.
The Fiji Times says the former diplomat resigned last Friday - the same day Kumar cancelled two postgraduate courses due to be started by Nair's section.
Kumar says the courses were being postponed not cancelled. "The original advertisement did state that the courses will only be offered if there is a minimum number that would ensure the course is viable."
Just five students had paid their $750 fee. The courses included government officials, workers from regional and international organisations, the private sector and journalists.
