Flood evacuees promised hotel stay

A promise tonight from the regime to relocate flood victims to a hotel if officials can't find anywhere decent for them.

Officials are trying to move evacuees on from school halls to allow schools to reopen tomorrow but there is concern people are being bundled out even though their homes are still wet and full of mud and silt.

Reports initially said it would be at least two to three weeks before worst hit areas such as the west and central division would be on its feet. In recent days, though, there has been lots of noise about 'progress' with the promise of schools opening tomorrow.

No missing the plight of flood victims, though, with media stories featuring poignant pictures of families in school halls and people pleading with officials not to send them packing because their homes are still uninhabitable.

FBC News is now reporting Frank Bainimarama as saying on a visit to Saint Andrews School in Nadi on Saturday that people can only be moved from schools to other accomodation if they have water and electricity.

Bainimarama was quoted as saying that evacuees will be moved to Nadi Hotel and the regime will foot the bill if officials can't find them alternative accomodation. Roads to schools are also supposed to be cleared by tomorrow with all schools having water and electricity.

Official figures today put the number of evacuation centres at a remarkable 60 instead of the 200 over the weekend and the number of people in them at close to 800 instead of close to 15,000.

The power is reported to back on for all of the central division and most of the western division but the number of people who've contracted water borne and communicable diseases have risen.

A report from the Ministry of Health says there have been 177 cases of leptospirosis, 112 dengue fever cases and 104 cases of typhoid.

People are meanwhile being warned about buying frozen food after one shop was found to be selling spoilt items.

An immigration adviser has also appealed to New Zealand to allow Fijians who lost their homes in floods to apply for residency under the department's Pacific Access Category (Pac), which allows island nations such as Samoa, Tonga, Kiribati and Tuvalu residency.

Fiji used to qualify but has been excluded since 2006 as part of the sanctions.

Naliva hides behind the uniform he is a real ulukau

That is why the Naliva goon is banned from any further UN missions. His M16 tail gunning fetish has gained him international credentials in the UN's black book of war criminals and human rights violaters.

Driti and Roko Ului also share that dubious distinction.

Vakamadua..shame..on this guy Naliva..bloody suck up to voceke..just look at him..what a nut head and a village idiot like his boss..

That army uniform glory is a short lived one. He is a criminal at large protected by the perpertrator at the helm of the goverment. When they will face the wrath of the peoples freedom it will be just like what happened to Gadaffi and his son. That want to be goverment offical will haunt him whole of his life behind bars.He has no proper education to think out of the box. An idiot will do foolish things never mind how much you try to assist him to understand the true situation.
Trust me he will turn himself to be the key witness against Voceke when the fun begins.

These are the type of soliders who do not understand the role of the Military and the principles of Rule of Law or a constitutional goverment.
He has taken advantage of the situation by virtue of being in that position close to the illegal PM.
The long arm of the law will spare you ulukau for the moment but start your prayer now when you will be taken into custody for questioning. There is enough evidence against him to face the court in a short time and will be remanded in custody.

He won't be smiling once the people he abused get hold of him.

How can Voceke put up the thousands in hotels? He can't even afford to help these people, so where's the money coming from pig?

Naliva, as I a relative of one you had inhumanely treated and humiliated, let me tell you that we will never forget what you did. It will be told to our children and will continue to be passed on to all our relatives and we will go to any extent to see that justice catches up with you someday sooner or later. Whichever justice it will be whether it will be by the courts or whether we will have to dish it ourselves, does not nmatter.

So we here Cuba is heading to Fiji. This is a country stuck in the 60's due to import sanctions from USA. Can you imagine who they will send for doctors traing from this third world country! I feel for Fiji. Please UN do something to stop this cruelty to Fiji people. We deserve better.

Can you imagine the which hotel FB will pick for people of Fiji. Zero star hotels. Better to set up tent city like they do in most parts of the world.

But then that's done by countries that are better organised. Anyway hotels are empty as no tourist heading here as they fear for their life due to lack of help from this illegal government.

Why the Nadi Hotel? Because it's a derelict property owned by FNPF and has disconnected water and power services.

Anonymous said...

And how does dumb VB expect to pay for all this - Get his Mataivalu Ni Solisona (MSS) to sell their cici to one and all on the streets of Nadi & Suva?

This what happens when Nikumpoop does not have statements prepared by Aiarse for him to read.

Kasibokola kece- Kemudou na Mataivalu ni Solisona.

C'mon Frankie, don't make people laugh @ you,try to think outside the box.All they want at this stage is a descent place to stay with the basic necessities so they can recouperate. Not hotel coz it will put more burden on the taxpayers.Remember you are not running a social club. Why not give the FNPF members part of their savings without much restrictions coz that's what they want right now for clothes, uniforms, books, beddings etc.If you are a good leader, you don't have to be seen every where looking busy, just delegate. Don't work too hard just work smart.

What a brilliant idea!
Hotels are only half-full, so put these poor people there.
There's a lot of empty rooms at Denarau.

Where would Frank and Khaiyum find the money to pay for hotel accommodation of flood victims? Frank speaks from the wrong opening other than his mouth! And what comes out of this orifice is just shit! Period.

Anonymous said...

Maybe Frank will sell Khaiyum and Ben Naliva's backsides to get funds to pay for hotel accommodation for flood victims! Is this guy real?

Anonymous said...

Valataka, and who do you think will pay for the hotel bill? Voceke can't find any to help with flood relief, so what makes you think he will pay for the evacuees to stay there? Voceke is all shit mate.

The Hoteliers can pay for it.
They gave money and supported Frank's coup.

But you will find that even in his hour of need, Bai's friends will desert him. Hoteliers will never allow Flood victims into their hotels.

Basically I wrote the comment above as tongue-in-cheek, knowing fully well that its not going to happen.
Bai thinks he's got friends in the Hotel Industry, the fact is they hate him.

Let us live and fight another day, not now yet. The courtroom is our battleground, that's where all the actions, and talking will be. while the present courtroom is now very uneven, let us wait like the hunter we are.
