Datt the saint or the spoiler?

Krishna Datt
Two revelations about Mahendra Chaudhry that might not be a surprise: he fears being toppled and is an autocrat.

All fairly predictable but the damage is in who 'exposed' him and what else was said about the Fiji Labour Party leader.

The party's former whip, Krishna Dutt, let loose to media today that he and four other MPs were forced to part company with Chaudhry because the Labour Leader 'was living in fear of being unseated and losing his prestigious and lucrative position'.

Chaudhry: Hanging on to the top job
According to Dutt: "Five of us were made to leave the Fiji Labour Party for disagreeing with the Labour Leader on some of the decisions. At that stage our differences were articulated within the party. In any democratic political system differences over issues and decisions taken are normal and can be handled in a democratic manner."

The damage, though, came from this 'revelation': Chaudhry is wooing indigenous Fijians because he and FLP have lost credibility with Indian voters.

"This is the only way labour can hope to survive," says Dutt. "Students of political science can have a field day following the manoeuvring of the Labour leader in trying to place him in a vantage position."

Not surprisingly Chaudhry insists Datt and the others were expelled for breaking party values and discipline.

He reckons the former Labasa MP is trying to be a political saint and that the support of FLP - and that of his own - is intact.

Time will tell but if Datt forms a political party or hitches up with an existing one, he could do a bit more damage than he did today.

This is devastating for Chaudhry, one of the most respected figures in Labour turning publicly against him just when he is trying to get political traction again. Just wait till Mahen has to explain the money in his Australian bank accounts. All over red rover. What Fijian is ever going to vote for someone on the Indian drip who then takes the money for himself?

Krishna Dutt thanks for the revelation but you were part of of Choor dhary all the way. He is what I would class as "disgruntle" ex labour member. Now, having said this I also know that Krishna has been courting with Qarese and Mick. I question his sincerity and integrity. I see him as an opportunist that will go with anyone who will benefit him personally.

I am not a Choor dhry fan by any stretch of imagination. Most of the Ex Labour members are surely questionable. Will they sell their mother to gain a seat as the saying goes.

I do respect Tupeni Baba for he had displayed his sincerity and at least he was open about his true commitment. I also would question the commitment of any ex or present Labour members after 2000.

Krisna had made a fool of himself in 1987 at Commonwealth meeting in Vancouver. As naive as he was, he thought that he could just go to the meeting uninvited and get sympathies from the member countries. Needless to say he had received a cold reception. The representatives shook his hand and said that they were sorry about the situation in Fiji and he could have a cup of tea with them and that was it. This had append in the corridors of the meeting venue. No one invited him to their office.

Krishna wake up bro. You might get some sympathy from general public but sure you need to consider retirement with Qarese, Choor dhry, and Mick. Maybe you all could go to some island like Nukulau.

It is time for a new generation to take over. We need change. We need progressive and forward thinking leaders. All you old school are unwanted weed that need to disappear in darkness for ever and ever.

Sources say that krishna dutt will be roped in by Bainimarama in his new party, as it is also revealed that even if Bainivoce and khaiyum will not compete the elections, if their party wins, they will control from behind the curtains...

Third source says that it is true that krishna dutt was expelled due to disciplinary problems.

While it may be true that in the case of krishna dutt, the best move for him to do is to damage mpc's image and confuse the public so that no one asks him what shit he did...

Compared to Chaudhry, almost anyone would be a saint. MPC has much to answer for.

On the other hand, Bainimarama and Khaiyum are even worse, by a whole magnitude. By helping to get rid of them, MPC would expiate many of his political sins.

MPC should work with Qarase. They should jointly announce their intention to guide Fiji to new elections after a one-year period of democratic stewardship that will include the formation of a Truth & Reconciliation Commission to examine the root causes of Fiji's coups and to address them in a way that promotes national healing.

There is very little difference between KD & MC. They both are the proverbial KLD and MC. Fiji can do better without these two.

Anonymous said...

As per fijilive, KD said this:
"The Fiji Labour Party (FLP) has lost credibility with the Indian voters, says Former Fiji Labour Party stalwart and former Minister for Labour and Industrial Relations Krishna Datt."

This guy is still onto racial politics. He does not realize that "Indian" and "Fijian" is no more. Would you vote for this racist?????

Stop fighting KD/MPC.
Time to move fiji forward and get rid of the regime.
KD and MPC should sit down and sole the differences in the party meeting.

Its time both of you retire from flp.

Enough of old farts.

Hahahha - KD you are the bigeest boci and kaisibokola like VB, Aiarse and the Mataivalu Ni Solisona and will your brother in law Rajesh Singh be part of this conman party.

Remember the New Alliance that was set up by the Military to contest the last elections this will also become defunct after 2014 if there is an election at all, as me feels that Aiarse & VB can already smell Naboro calling and are having second thoughts about 2014 - Noqu cici na mosi saraga.

Who was the brave leader who would not resign when he had a gun pointed at his head in 2000 while you were hiding in Toorak wearing women's clothes.

You are just like VB who ran down the tavioka patch with shit dripping down his arse that is still leaking today.

Say what you want to say about MPC but he is the true leader and fearless warrior of Fiji while VB, Aiarse and the Mataivalu Ni Solisona can only talk but are running shit scared of what will happen to them after 2014 - Mai Naboro mai.

MPC has the support of the majority of people and the Mataivalu Ni Solisona can do nothing about it.

Bloggers please have some common sense whilst commenting on issues affecting our beloved country. We should not make racial attacks..there is no Indian nor Taukei..we all should come together and form a united front to salvage our country from these goons. This is not a matter of race..we have a common enemy and we should unite. Fiji is calling on all those that love the country to stand together and bring this regime down. Once we start playing the race card, it is very much to the advantage of the regime. They want to see racial fightings so that they can have an excuse to prolong their grips on power. These guys are not serious about elections. They are very much looking for some signs of instability to give them reasonm to drop elections and continue their rule. And racial slurs being thrown around and about in this site is good for them. They wanty to see more of it and that it gets worse and worse to give them some sort of reason for continuining.Be sensible folks, Fiji is ours together. We need to take it back and this is not a matter of race. We need to take it back for the sake of our children and their future. God Bless Fiji..

Get rid of all and elect some sensible and fair minded people to parliament; Dont get hoodwinked by any of the past politicians false and lie promises; some of the names I propose as independent candidates are Attar Singh, Former RBF Governor, Save Narube, Grahame leung and the like. Long live Fiji and peace loving people...

THE BIG LIE!
The Khaiyum Media degree is nothing more, than Khaiyum attempt to trick and hide Voreqe
Bainimarama Stroke, from the Fiji
General Public! Take a good look at
Bainimarama, where they tried to looks like he was well? When they
have him on his wheel chair, his hand been helped by an Indo to make
him the first person to open electronic balloting? Look at his
condition, glass eyes, his hand been helped, to be the first to make
electronic ballotin? He looks like he doesn't want to be there? He can't stand up?Khaiyum seems to be
threatening the medias, by making sure the pictures has Bai in a positive pose?

Anonymous said...

Why not just join Khaiyum & Voreqe party? Didn't this dude and others
broke away from Chodo in 2006 and
formed their own version of the Labour Party? There are only 34% of
Indo in the country and not much to
split up the 34% indo votes? Hey maybe the 1970 constitution was much better for us in Fiji?
It allows every minority voices to be heard and protects their human rights as well? I'm for its revivals?

Kristna Dutt a saint? Pull the other one Coup 4.5!!!

He disappeared from view when his colleagues were kidnapped by George Speight - not a squeak from him then. He only raised his profile afterwards to get back into parliament.

After the Bainimarama coup, again nothing from him until now.

He comes out of the woodwork when he senses an opportunity to feather his nest - He is nothing more than a political prostitute!

Vinaka Anon 6.46om June 30th

I was also quite puzzled at the vilification of Mr Krishna Datt by the Labour party leadership and cohort.

They cite an in-party disciplinary issue which many think is a slacker of an excuse since they simply refuse to see, understand or appreciate the positions taken by their members who were part of the Coalition Govt cabinet.

Can't they venture beyond their noses into something bigger than a conflict of personalities? Vinaka.

Mahen 'million doller man' chaudhry is a self, serving opportunist who preaches all of Fiji against nepotism but practices it himself in the Fiji labour party by giving betwa Rajen a job. appointed in-law sachida as a senator in a sneaky manner by defying party the choice. Fiji ke Robin Hood raised money in the name of the poor farmers but stashed it in secret bank account. when caught he claimed money was given to him for his keeping. which tells us he became a politician to 'feather his own nest', something he has always accused others of. like a begger going around with begging bowl in hand asking for handouts - what a chamar. as finance minister took a hardline approach to tax evasion but caught dodging taxes himself. mahen 'chorwa' chaidhry should get nobel prize for hypocrisy. The worst and most destructive, dishonest, lying, thieving politician in Fiji. asli chor

When questioned by Fijivillage on government’s planned One Man One Vote System for the 2014 elections, Datt said he supports this but some issues need to be addressed.

Krishna Datt is one big buffoon who is just as bad as his
labour colleagues. One of the many screw-ups was when he was the Minister of Labour he tried to stop workers who were visiting suspended workers of the former SASL Company that was previously handling Air traffic management. These workers would go to the suspended workers home to drink grog with them and the minister sent the cops to the workers home to inform them that their strike was illegal. chutia these guys not on strike they just drinking grog.

Mahen 'king of feathering the nest' chaudhry said...

Mahendra Chaudhry has no credibility left. A hypocrite to the bone. The Labour Party is nothing but a bunch of Chaudhry lackeys with no balls. Lately the party expelled Krishna Datt for “breach of discipline”. and “political vendetta”. This from mahen, the most vindictive politician ever, who brooks no dissent, and has expelled from the party anone who raised a word against him.

Mahen accused Dutt of posing “as a political saint”. The irony is staggering. If anyone has been acting like political saint and champion of the poor throughout his career, it's Chaudhry. He then proceeds to pocket $3m in donations raised in the name of the poor.

The Labour Party called Dutt “self-serving”. Who has $3m in the bank – mahen chaudhry or Krishna Datt? If you talk about self-serving, mahen chaudhry is the king, the heavyweight title holder.

One of mahen chaudhry’s favourite term when attacking political opponents was “feathering your nest”. Well, Chaudhry takes the cake in this department. he has $3m in the bank as proof! Is there a greater hypocrite than this man?

In the Labour Party statement Chaudhry “reaffirmed the democratic nature of the FLP”. Haha what a joke from someone who has surrounded himself with lightweights and ‘yes-man’, like his in-law, Sachida, whom he appointed senator in a sneaky, nepotistic manner by overturning party decision. Those who complained were disciplined – this is democracy mahen style.

Chaudhry has turned Labour into a family party with son Rajen the heir apparent. Does anyone need more proof that the Labour party is finished, that it is nothing but a mahen chaudhry instrument to get into power.

All the party does is churn out lies and propaganda to prop a leader who has failed miserably time and again. FLP is full of ‘badia bail’ or castrated bulls. No one has the balls to take on mahen.

The sooner this corrupt, nepotistic, tax-dodger departs the political scene, the better. We are just so tired of this bullshit king.
