Military trying to track former CRW soldiers

Speight: still in Naboro
The military and police intelligence are working overtime to establish the whereabouts of a group of former CRW soldiers released from prison last week.

The group were put on trial in January 2006 for their involvement with the 2000 coup leader, George Speight, and the mutiny at Queen Elizabeth Barracks.

Sources say surveillance teams have been put in place to track Filimoni Raivalu, Jona Nawaqa, Lagilagi Vosabeci, Ropate Nakau, Lance Corporal Usaia Rokobigi, Peni, Kalisito Vuki and Viliame Tikotani.

All were handed six year sentences, which ended last week.

  3. Now the question that need to be asked is if these former CRW soldiers are reformed? Having them in jail for 6 years, a good physiologist could have assessed. The second question is if they were not reformed, why? Did the prison department not put this people through a classes and training to reform them? What were this CRW soldiers doing for 6 years? Were they on a picnic or holiday?

  5. Without harmony in the state, no millitary expedition can be undertaken; without harmony in the army, no battle array can be formed.

  12. Why is the corrupt military regime trying to track them when they've served their sentences. Give them their deserved chance to rebuild their lives. This seems like a hunt for scapegoats to divert public attention from the illegal activities of the junta.

Aiyaz, Bai, Nazat, Tikoitoga, Naliva, Leweni, Qilio, SaronSJ, Pride and rest of their gang should be getting ready to serve their own lengthy terms in gaol. If these treasonous rats continue to hound the CRW soldiers, the CRW soldiers may as well seek asylum in another country. Try Tonga or Samoa.

  13. Release Turaqa ni Qaranivalu and see the fun.

  14. If the CRW soldiers are not rehabilitated than they should not have been released. If they are rehabilitated and not on probation than they have the right to go on their own merry way.

I do realize that the law should keep their eyes on this ex soldiers. Remember they were trained to fight and engage in counter revolution. It is a cat and a mouse game.

  17. so much has been said about transparency by this govt, now these guys had served their time and paid the cost of the crime they committ, why the surveillance? just leave them alone, give them time to make up with their loved ones, this is utter childish

    ReplyDelete
  18. the only reason why they are under surveillance is because the regime know well that there will be kickback from these CRW guys..

Point to note is that there are also redundant CRW soldiers, after the CRW Unit was disbanded by Baini..rest is for your imagination...

  20. Let's all hope they've reformed. The mutiny at the camp a few years back was a scary day for the nation. Let's hope, nothing like that ever happens again..Peace, Love and Happiness..

  21. CRW were rabukas babies.
They are the real culprits of all coups.

These CRW men have served their time and we must respect that, the treasonous fiji military is once again creating a security scare to protect themselves just lies.George Speight is a true man for accepting his punishment and he will be changing places with voreqe bainimarama and company soon.

  25. Reply to Anon 4.30PM.
If Bai can easily crush them, why monitor them which shows that there he is scared of them.

  26. These CRW unit members that were released, what is their military back ground?????

    ReplyDelete
  27. The CRW crew are have already left for Australia like the rest of them that now work there.

    ReplyDelete
  28. These CRW soldiers were set up and framed by Bainimarama. They were unjustly sentenced without the true facts being presented in court. Now that they're free, they deserve time alone with their families and to rebuild their lives.

Those asking whether they've been rehabilitated need to examine themselves. Are you supporters of the coup amd illegal government? Why else would you ask that?

Why do these men need to be rehabilitated? Being loyal soldiers who thought until too late that they were participating in a military exercise? These soldiers never participated in the 2006 coup. They're cleaner than the rest of the RFMF. Fiji needs rehabilitation more than these men do.

Look at how this lamu government panics just because these six soldiers are now out of prison. (I won't say they're 'free', because freedom no longer exists in Fiji.) It goes to show that the regime understands that just a few committed bati would suffice to overthrow it.

These CRW certainly have strong motives for leading the fight against the illegal and traitorous dictator, but let's give them the peace and rest they deserve. In the meanwhile, let each of us consider how we can do our own part to strike a blow for a democratic Fiji.

we dont need army and guns anymore. in fiji.

  31. Looks like the VB & the Mataivalu Ni Solisona are running shit scared - No wonder he is sick and has to run and hide in China.

The Mataivalu Ni Solisona and all its supporters must be dismantled once and for all so that democracy and freedom can return to Fiji.

Come on US just send some covert agents posing as tourists to finish this kaisi bokola, tamata ulukau, cici levu military off once and for all.

Hear that diaper sales have gone through the roof in Suva as VB, Aiarse & Mataivalu Ni Solisona are now shitting everywhere as they cannot sleep at night even frighten of their own shadows.

  33. The soldiers are in Tonga recruited by Roko Ului. A Fiji freedom fighting force will be trained and based there. Those who want to join should get in touch.

  41. The RFMF Engineers are ready to crush these so called special forces again. They did it it 2000 and can always do it any time. It only took the 18 years old rookies who are students of the military the Trade Training School, some the clerks, and cooks to assault and recaptured QEB from the CRW.

    What else do they want?

    Veivanua.......

    ReplyDelete
  42. It is very unfair to be tracking CRW soldiers who have served their time for what they did. That is violation of their rights and privacy.
Let them be...Voceke and concentrate on the state of this country. You have enough boduguards to look after you...or still too small?
    Freedom to CRW!!
