Reshuffle tipped with Kean touted to replace Naivalurua

Illegal PM and Police Chief: parting of ways?
Sources say Frank Bainimarama could be announcing major changes to his government soon.

The reshuffle is the main reason for him apparently ditching his plans to travel to New York to address the United Nations General Assembly.

Though un-confirmed at this stage, sources say the changes will include new postings in key administrative positions within the security forces.

Leaks of a new line up comes hot on the heels of Bainimarama’s unhappiness with the Commissioner of Police poor handling of the escape of five prisoners from Naboro last Monday night.

In the wings: Francis Kean
Sources say Iowane Naivalurua will be relieved off his duty to make way for a new Commissioner.

The man tipped as Fiji's new police chief is Francis Kean, the current permanent secretary for Works, Transport and Public Services.

It is also likely former police chief and current ambassador to China and North Korea, Esala Teleni, will take up the role of Defence Minister.

Returning to Suva: Esala Teleni
There is also talk of some re-shuffle in Cabinet. No details are available.

Sources say two weeks ago Bainimarama ordered all of his special investigation teams (made up of military officers) be disbanded, including the team that was based in his office.

It is likely that any reshuffle, if it announced, with lean towards civilian faces in key government positions.

And while Bainimarama is looking to maximise again on law and order, a ground swell movement is gathering around a petition for a caretaker government.

Sources say all leading chiefs, including the Roko Tui Dreketi, Tui Cakau and Kalevu, have signed the petition asking the illegal president, Epeli Nailatikau, to act on the Appeal Court decision.

Anthony: working independently of FLP
Political parties and the trade union group, FICTU, have also signed.

FTUC, however, is not adding its support to the Fiji Labour Party led petition with general secretary, Felix Anthony, responding to Coupfourpointfive inquiries with the following statement from general secretary, Felix Anthony:

"The FTUC wants nothing to do with Mahend.  That is our position. Insofar as the issues are concerned,  we will take a position on the matter at an appropriate time. The FTUC is not an organization that will put its signature to any document or support blindly a political agenda without being consulted and being part of the decision making process".

The delegation has now decided to delay presenting the petition to Nailatikau until Friday when it's hoped a decision on whether or not to exclude the FTUC from the petition - or leave it unsigned, will have been made.

An approach is also being made to get Ratu Apenisa Cokobau to sign on behalf of the vanua of Bau. Several NGO's are believed to be already signatories.

COMING UP: $7000 found on escapees - and what happened to it.

The effect if this Operation Jericho is beginning to be felt and the illegal regime has thought it necessary to make several major changes.

Alas, but the day has not fully gone yet.

But I feel that Operation Jericho will not just end today....

Groundswell for an interim government?

Seriously- Seems more like group think, arriving at a manufactured consensus

Felix Anthony should look at the big picture even though he may have problems with the Labour Party leadership!

For once Felix put your differences aside - we need everybody's support on this move to force the illegal President to at least do the right thing!

Can Keane serve his time in Prison first. A COMPOL with a murder conviction WTF!!!!!

Well the ship is sinking and rats changing positions!!! So sad that a convicted murderer Kean will be the top law enforcer what a farce. And, why id FTUC sabotaging the collective group of like minded people wanting to remove the corrupt regime? shame on you Felix. Jai Ho MPC.

Anonymous said...

If Kean becomes Police Commish he can maybe re-arrest himself for manslaughter for which he was convicted and released under dubious circumstances.

Anonymous said...

Kean? He was convicted of murder and gailed and released by despot under CSO on medical grounds-man is too sick to be in prision so now gonna be the Turanga ni obbicer. This a joke.

Kean first needs to arrest his tavale cro0ok dictator.

Well, it is like shifting chairs on the deck of the Titanic. The rot is far deeper for any cosmetic changes to be effective. There will be no change until there is rule of law and an impartial judiciary. Those who condone violence against prison escapees, just remember this: today it is them, tomorrow it will be political dissenters. Don't mollycoddle the military. Snake will always be snake.

Thug murderer said...

A thug murderer as police chief? What's next? Aunty nur as treasurer? This junta is a sad joke. It is time for the military to wake up to itself. Go and arrest khaiyum and the other treasonous scumbags, then go back to the barracks.
Fiji urgently needs a caretaker government and a swift return to democracy, freedom and restoration of the rule of law.

Mahen
You were the downfall of the SDL government and now you are doing this because you are not in the cabinet. You are a disgrace to the Indian community as you have never coporated with our iTaukie brothers and for the betterment of our people, our children, our country and our nation.
You guys in the name of workers started the Labour government to fight against the Allinance Government. Allinance Government was the best government the country had since independence considering the situations in Fiji. You ditched Tupeni Baba and became the the Prime Minister in 2000-despite knowing the implications. In 2006 you never gave Qarase a chance for the multiparty cabinet. You indirectly supported the overthrow of the SDL government. Now you are acting hypocritically by asking the President to sack this government.
Francis Kean is not a good choice for Police Commissioner. He is a criminal.

Whatever it is, we who live in Fiji need a government that can bring down the cost of goods including FEA's electricity. The bridge between the rich and poor is getting wider with only very little owning a bulk of Fiji's wealth. I cannot trust this group including Roko Tui Dreketi, Tui Cakau etc. they are too dumb to know what's beyond their noses. Chaudhry should be able to look at the plight of the poor but problem is, all are opportunists and while this government is being responsive and protective of civilians, the only flaw it has is, the lack of an experienced and clever person, to help Frank bring the cost of goods down etc. Kila ga when people get hungry, they will support anyone who comes along to vesumona them so, Frank you really must work on the finance and the people you have, with due respect to them, unfortunately, are not looking near enough 'cause the answer is staring at them in the face.

People of Fiji - on the 2nd of October 2012, a hearing in US will determine the future of 39 companies presently having duty free access in US markets. The Essential Services Decree brought buy senseless self loving gay bastard will destroy 15,000 - 75,000 jobs in Fiji once the US blocks duty free entry of these 39 companies because of the Decree which breaches the Labour standards. Now is Khaiyum so important that to keep him on a million dollaw pay we have to put the familes of these workers at risk? come on people of Fiji kick this mother fucker muslim cunt out asap.

Francis Kean as compol? Brilliant move! You can immediately kiss off closer law enforcement engagement with the West and open Fiji wider to Chinese organised crime. You can also kiss off thousands of Fijian jobs dependent on America, our top customer.

Anonymous said...

Bainimarama's real reason for moving against Naivalurua is his fear of a move against him during Operation Jericho by what Dakuwaqa called 'patriotic elements' within the army and police. In Bainimarama's paranoid way of thinking, Naivalurua's convenient absence from Fiji during Jericho could only mean one thing -- that the compol had prior knowledge of a plot against him.

Anonymous said...

Naivalurua, it's now or never. Please strike a blow for Fiji by freeing us of this foolish tyrant.

Psalm 100:

1 Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all ye lands.

2 Serve the Lord with gladness: come before his presence with singing.

3 Know ye that the Lord he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.

4 Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name.

5 For the Lord is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations.

Hey, just a note from a party downtown.

We cranked up the music and then poured outside, banging pots and blowing whistles.

There we found other people dancing in the streets, singing, honking horns, hollering, some even crying. We all just looked at each other in amazement.

It was beautiful. It was spectacular.

It was longer than a minute, but then we all just went peacefully on our way, all smiles.

Jericho proved the emperor has no clothes.

This regime is toast! And isn't it about time?

To God be the glory!

Anonymous said...

Okay, so a lot of us were making noise. And I was beating my kava ni bisikete to some loud music when a cop passed by. He didn't try to arrest anyone. Instead he grinned and danced a jig. I guess he was celebrating Fiji too!

Honestly, Felix, get over yourself and do what's best for Fiji.

How can you say you're waiting for the appropriate time? Everybody else is onboard. That means it's the appropriate time.

What are you waiting for, an engraved invitation?

You should follow Dakuwaqa's lead by just taking yourself out of the equation for the benefit of Fiji.

This is not about Mahend. This is not about you. This is about Fiji.

Kai Bau Dina says,

Please do not drag in Ratu Epenisa Cakobau into this Mahendra Chaudhry led agenda. We the people of Bau would like to be left alone to settle our own traditional affairs, in the first instance.

IF FIJI HAVE NOT KNOWN AS YET, THE PEOPLE OF BAU HAVE BEEN QUIETLY FIELDING THE VICTIMIZATION BY THE PRESENT (MILITARY) BAINIMARAMA GOVERNMENT.

THOUGH BAINIMARAMA HIMSELF IS FROM KIUVA IN THE TIKINA 'O BAU, THIS MEANS NOTHING TO HIM. THROUGH BAINIMARAMA'S GOVERNMENT, MOST OF BAU'S EDUCATED ELITE HAVE BEEN SYSTEMATICALLY VICTIMIZED AND REMOVED FROM TOP GOVERNMENT POSITIONS, POSITIONS THEY DESERVEDLY ACHIEVED THROUGH GOOD HIGHER EDUCATION AND HARD HONEST WORK.

ALLOW TO NAME THE SACKING OF FIJI'S VICE PRESIDENT (BAINIMARAMA'S OWN HIGH CHIEF IN THE VUSARATU TRIBE), A MAGISTRATE, A PERMANENT SECRETARY, A DPP LAWYER TO NAME A FEW. THEY WERE NOT SACKED BECAUSE OF NON PERFORMANCE BUT BECAUSE THEY WERE BAUANS; BECAUSE BAINIMARAMA DOES NOT LIKE THE THEN EXISTING AND NORMAL TRADITIONAL AND NATIONAL STATUS QUO.

BAU WANT TO STAY AS THEY ARE NOW AND GO ON WITH THEIR LIVES. WE HAVE NEVER DEPENDED ON ANY GOVERNMENT TO MAINTAIN AND UPLIFT OUR STANDARD OF LIVING ON THE ISLAND; THESE WE HAVE ACHIEVED THROUGH OUR OWN BLOOD SWEAT AND TEARS.

PLEASE STAY AWAY.

An employee at the Prime Minister's office appeared before Magistrate Janaka Bandara this afternoon charged with alleged bribery.

The court heard that Rudra Maharaj is alleged to have taken bribes amounting to ten thousand dollars.

Defence Counsel for Maharaj told the court that his client is in custody since Monday and he has a wife, children and grandchildren who want to see him at home.

FICAC counsel is asking for the accused to be further remanded as investigations are continuing.

Bail has been refused and Maharaj will reappear on Friday.

A hearty bula and vinaka vakalevu to Dakuwaqa and all others who participated in Operation Jericho.

I wondered if I'd be alone, but a few seconds before M-Minute I could already hear some of the celebration. My loud whistle pierced the night, but I could hear the din from many, many other celebrants right there in my neighbourhood (Toorak).

It was gratifying to hear other hearts that beat as mine.

We poor itaukeis wouldn't want to see our land and economy fall into the hands of Asians who are giving us aid to develop our infrastructure, and other economic activities. Please look within the region for funds, countries like PNG have so much money I'm sure they're willing to lend a hand in bringing the nation back to its feet.
Sack all the liu-muris in your govt and bring God fearing qualified fijians to run the country for the people. And declare Fiji a Christian state.

Secondly it allows people to use and hide behind the title ANONYMOUS. This is sad because this gives them the opportunity to talk senseless here, being cheeky and arrogant at the same time.

What is important is for individuals to raise reasonable comments; being realistic in what one raises to contribute realistically to the forum. Yet certain fools out there always look at the negatives, never treying to realize the objectives and intentions of views being raised.

IT IS ABOUT TIME COUPFOURPOINTFIVE START DISREGARDING THE NEGATIVES IN ORDER TO MAKE THIS FORUM MORE USEFUL TO ISSUES BEING RAISED.

Aiyaz Saiyad Kaiyum.....

This is your AG addressing you in person. You have been blogging negativity about me and th Bainimarama Government! It has not detered our motives from Dec 2006. We promised eradication of corruption and we are progressing well. We have imprisoned the last elected Prime Minister and we promise that if we are not chosen to lead the country to continue our good work for the people of this country we will imprison the next elected Prime Minister also! Mahendra Chaudhary is facing the court process; I have briefed the judiciary of our preferred outcome! He will serve term in prison! His son Rajendra Chaudhary will be debarred this week and thee goes the defence and FLP! I have removed GCC and all Lauans and Bauans, this country needs the Nadrogans to lead which I support as I have been assured Prime Minster-ship. I have single handedly removed all Fijian traditional systems and people in my endeavour to modernise Fiji. I can't help that I am a muslim and Prime Minister Bainimarama only trusts me, too bad for all you bloggers that believes I will be the sacrficial lamb; unfortunately I have slaughtered all those that stop my way! Pio Tikoduadua is my stumbling block; thanks to Allah's intervention he has lack of clarity in his speech so I conveniently convince PM to understand my version of Pio's comments. I also have comvinced PM to forgive Brigadier Aziz so that in PMs absence we Muslim brothers are in control. I promise all that Fiji will never be the same again; I am protected by the Military that I continue to hate after my 1987 episode, but my careful planning and siding with the gullible itaukei's in leadership positions has allowed meto continue crucifying those in my way or my families way! I will continue to rule Fiji as the pseudo Prime Minister and hopefully with my opportunities of wealth creation in this prestige job, I will retire in a resort filled with sufficient wealth that my next four generations will enjoy. Thanks to all the sound advise from Aliz!!!

Peace be upon all
Aiyaz Saiyad Kaiyum
