Fiji civil servants gagged but Khaiyum takes to Facebook

Only in Fiji: civil servants have been warned not to speak or engage in political activities but the illegal attorney general, Aiyaz Sayed Khaiyum, has opened a Facebook.

Khaiyum's facebook carries his official photo, the one used on the website for the illegal attorney's office, and the question must be asked: why has he opened a social networking site? And is he about to campaign publicly for the 2014 elections as has been suggested by some inside moles?

Insiders claim a strategy is underway to get Khaiyum onto a party ticket which could see him appointed by the illegal leader to Parliament, if the Singapore model is adopted as Fiji's new Constitution.

Fiji civil servants have meanwhile been told in no uncertain terms to keep a low profile and not be seen or heard.

Last year they were authorised to make submissions to the Constitution Commission (See Fijilive story below) because the regime wanted people to endorse its illegal reform process.

Now that it suits it, the regime says public servants cannot conduct interviews or speak publicly on anything political, including military and defence, without permission.

All in the name of the planned 2014 elections.

" 2.1 The standing policies provide clear guidelines that civil servants should NOT engage in political or party controversy and that they must at all times, refrain from discussing public affairs."

Fri, 10 Aug 2012
SUVA, Fiji (FIJI LIVE) ---- Fiji’s Prime Minister, Commodore Frank Bainimarama has announced that public servants, as Fijian citizens, should also have a say and participate in formulation of Fiji’s new Constitution to take our country to General Elections in 2014. This has never happened before neither for the 1990 nor the 1997 Constitutional Review processes, a government statement said. He said that public servants comprise nearly 4 per cent of Fiji’s population and as such their views as Fijian citizens must be heard. “I would like to request all public servants to participate in the consultation process. Such participation and submissions however will have to be in your personal capacities and that no resources of the State should be utilised in this process. “Public Servants are free to air their views in front of the Constitutional Commission in their private capacity and not officially as public servants. This is in line with established procedures under the General Orders as well as the Public Service Act of 1999 which inter-alia articulates the Public Service Code of Conduct”. Additionally, groups of Public Servants and/or Institutions such as Permanent Secretaries, Ministry of Finance, Public Service Commission, Office of the Auditor General, Judicial Department, Fiji Police Force, Fiji Prisons and Corrections Services, Fiji Independent Commission Against Corruption, Office of Solicitor General, Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions etc. are permitted to make official submissions to better explain their roles and responsibilities. Bainimarama said this is a one time opportunity for every Fijian to contribute to the process currently underway to get the governance of Fiji set on a sustainable path.

That's OK! Leave the public servants to man the engine room. There is a wealth of intellect forced out of their jobs in early retirement. They will form Fiji's people's party to bring down this frickin regime.

This is a fake Facebook that has been set up by the Government's opponents. It is deliberately designed to have only "likes" by Indo-Fijians. You guys are total arseholes for making a big deal out of this. Racist bastards.

The Public service regulation 1999, part 2 section 4(7) states that "the Public service is a political performing its functions in a neutral, impartial and professional way".
No way! That's a lot of bullshit. Everyone knows the public service is political. Parmesh Chand the PSC PS was a regime lackey. The PSC chairman is a regime lackey. Army personnel have been planted in top positions in virtually all civil service departments. why do you that has happened? for them to be neutral and impartial and perform in a professional way?
incidentally, the relevant word here is apolitical (one word)!

Please DO NOT associate Aiyaz Sayed Khaiyum with NFP. There is no way that Khaiyum will lead NFP. We have others that are more qualified and Politically savvy to take this party to next level. Just be reminded that NFP is the oldest party in Fiji. We have dignity, class and a clean history. We have contributed a lot to this country and are proud of our record. It is squeaky clean. The rumor mongers and manufactures of stories have been hard at work to defame NFP and the leaders.

You can be rest assured that NFP will come back as a "fighting tiger" and will prevail.

Who are this people trying to fool? This is not a Liberal party but a Conservative, Nationalist party. Some one needs to educate them what the difference is between the two.

The proposed Social Democratic Liberal Party has applied for registration today.

Proposed officials of the proposed party, Sakuisa Raivoce and Pio Tabaiwalu lodged their application at the Registrar’s Office this morning.

Fijivillage was at the scene and witnessed the group walking into the Registrar of Political Parties, Mere Vuniwaqa’s office carrying a box full of papers.

Tabaiwalu said they will now wait for the assessment of their application.

Meanwhile Fijivillage has been informed that the proposed party has given its proposed initials as SODELPA.

@KM 1:55pm You obviously don't know the $millions of dollars of AID that still pour into Fiji.
Without that AID, Fiji will be in so much worse position.
Australia still continues to give lots of money. ( millions)
NZ giving Aid
EU giving AID
Other NGO giving AID
Other Fiji people overseas giving millions of dollars to their relatives.

Stop all this AID and you'll see Bainimarama government collapse spectacularly.

Fijians will have no money to spend and the Indians will have to close their shops then everyone will be back to the village life.

So don't give Frank too much credit.
The guy hasn't got a clue.
He's an idiot.
I think its only by the grace of God that this country is still holding together.

Finally ladies and gentlemen, the new look SDL party has now register to be a party, I believe that some people in the government is brobably shitting their pants.

As the two representatives walked in the room we can hear the clicks of cameras filled the room.

Kaiyum, Bainimarama and Nailatikau, do not ever think about doing something doggy, you will be caught and you will create war.

Our legal Prime Minister will be out as early as April, the SDL has maintained their word that Qarase is still their leader.when I saw Mr Raivoce in the team, we can all tell that this party means business, and they have had enough, don't we all?

Mr Raivoce is a ratired British Army and has much more experience then the Fiji army busht commander, and he'll know before hand any military strategy.

Who wonderful it is to see the I Taukei has finally worked together for the betyerment of our country. My advice to you all that Bainimarama and Kaiyum have placed you in works where you're not qualified at all to do, better start packing your bags and leave the country, because by hook or by crook, this is not going to be an easy exsit.Your boss Bainimarama and Kaiyum will not let go easily, not without a fight anyway, let me tell you, they might have the army and toy guns, but we have the power backed up.by the huge majority.

Unlike all other provinces, the province of Rewa, the No retreat No surrender attitude of a true leader, we are ready, all we need now is the call of the Vanua, the call of our chiefs. Be it the Rewa chief, or the Ba chief, or the Macuata chief, we will follow, just give the order,

To you land owners in Vanua Levu, we feel sory for you all, very soon you will all find out the dirty works this illegal government has done in your lands, they have to be stopped before you are swarmped by foreign owners of your land without you knowing.

Mai na yanuyanu o Tasmania, if a white living in Tassie, you bring one head of a black man, woman or child to any police station you'll get £5.only, with that, there was only one survived, an Aboriginal lady, if we don't do anything now, God knows what will happen to us the I Taukei.

Vinaka. And may God open our spiritual eyes and allow yourselves to see the uncertainty that is laying ahead of us. God bless you, and God bless Fiji.

Yes, when The Lady says march, it will be time to march, and bring the warclubs.

If this regime favours Singapore's constitution as a model, it's likely because Singapore's executives get paid the most of any other officials in the world.
