Rape of Fiji continues

Surely a case of a Dictator's Daft Constifusion.

Award flopping snippets of the illegal leader from some of his radio broadcasts in recent weeks, thanks to the team of Shazzer and Grubby.

Plenty of ahhhs and don't knows - look out, too, for the 'arses - what arses?"

Today was the regime cut off day for submissions. The end of the unorthodox consultations which allowed people to make 'submissions' via Facebook, text, emails and via the consultation meetings themselves ended with Frank Bainimarama declaring voter registration in Fiji a success.

The plan now is to get citizens living overseas signed up to vote via.

A sobering moment, though, for those would-be voters in today's story about a police officer being allowed to serve his rape sentence on weekends.
The officer was convicted of raping his sister and was sentenced to eight years jail by Nasinu Magistrate Sumudu Premachndra, who decided the sentence should be served on the weekends.

The decision was appealed by the Director of Public Prosecutions and the accused was remanded in custody.

The High Court Judge Justice Paul Madigan has, however, now found that until the appeal is finalized next month, the dirty cop can keep doing his time on Saturdays and Sundays. Only in Fiji, eh.

  3. from anonymous 4:21 PM

Here we have an idiot who confessed he had very little knowledge of the draft constitution which he commissioned. I ask how can we have a PM who cannot even speak good English and cannot perform in a public debate. Here we simply have a no school idiot trying to be PM and running the country on the point of a gun. How long more can we allow this to happen.

  4. Queen Beatrice of Netherlands has stepped down in favour of her son. Our shitty king the commodore should step down in favour of his equally under-educated son. the son would provide security to the whole country through his security company!

  5. Boy, these judges sure are tough. Lucky for the cop that he didn't rape his own mother. Otherwise the judge might have sentenced him to a year without his dessert!

  6. The more injustice dealt out by the illegal representatives of Fiji's justice system, the more support the Regime loses consequently as more and more Fijians see it for what it is, the Regime and the justice system.
The Lord does indeed work in mysterious ways.

  14. More Sri Lankans taking over the country. 51% of shares in Ports Authority taken over by a Sri Lankan company. No doubt ASK and Baini got kickbacks for this brokered by Ajith Kodagoda. One of the most corrupt and nepotistic man in Fiji right now

  16. @QORVIS and Graham Davies, since you lowlifes like supporting liars like Bainimarama, why don't you piss off back to America, and go support the big liar Obama.

Now Obama lying about chemical weapons in Syria. This is the same country that lied to us about WMD in Iraq and then went ahead and killed 1.5 million innocent Iraqis.

We fijians have had enough of Bainimarama's lies.
And dickheads like you supporting him.
Dont come and spread your sickness here.
Best thing for you people to do is to f*ck off from this country.
Go do your lyng in America.

  17. Listening to dumb bai is an insult to our intellect as we can see through the lies he has been spouting since 2006. The sad thing though is that we have quite a number of people supporting this culprit. Strange but true but only in Fiji. I pray that freedom from this idiot will come very soon.

  20. editor,
wise muavono is of the firm view that "the ministry of social welfare should definitely enforce the laws to prosecute parents who use children to beg" (Fiji Times 1/5).
talking about enforcing the law to prosecute offenders I think all right thinking people in Fiji are of the firm view that treasonist and usurpers should definitely be prosecuted to put an end to their debilitating act.
They recognise that it has far-reaching harmful effects on the country and its people.(definitely more so then child beggars).
That is why the overwhelming majority of people submitted to the Ghai Constitution Commission that there should be NO IMMUNITY in the new constitution of the country.
The people of Fiji clearly want to see that the Rape of Fiji does NOT continue in future.

'RFMF : We'll stay - Camp rejects Commonwealth call over role in Govt' (Fiji Sun 1/5).
We all know why they want to stay.
It's for the same reason they got rid of the Ghai draft constitution.
    It's to protect their backside.
The RFMF can't provide leadership for the country. It has failed to provide leadership within its own institution.
The RFMF is a failed institution of the Fijian state. Any independent observer can confirm that - except Graham Davis. He has his own "independent" brand of independent!

  22. the claim by the RFMF that it took over the country to provide leadership and good governance is a blatant lie. the rogue leadership in the RFMF took over the country to save themselves from being prosecuted and winding up in jail.
the the ordinary soldiers have been USED by their rogue leaders to serve their agenda.

  23. We need leaders who listen to wise advise from mature advisors before making a decision well thought by a group of discipline people. If a leader do not have these but glue its ear to one who is hood winking him than the leader is inviting problems from all quarter of society.

  24. news flash -

rubyanne bainimagana and Sale are having marital problems - apparently, Rubyanne found high rated sexual texts on Sales' phone from a Brenda....and Sale replying that he is tired of following the Bainimagana family and being intimidated by them...Rubyanne is running to daddy to tell sale to pay more attention to her!

  25. Kamlesh Kumar, aren't you the same traitorous dog who has so often commented in support of Bainimarama's regime?

Changing sides again? First you betray your country and now you betray your fellow regime supporters?

For your information, France and the United Kingdom have independently confirmed the U.S finding that sarin gas was recently used in Syria. Assad won't let UN inspectors in to investigate, which raises further red flags. Obama is so far resisting pressure for the United States to intervene more forcefully.

Just for the record, Kamlesh, if Bainimarama's regime uses chemical weapons against our own people, you would oppose any intervention by the international community?

Kelepi Lesi is right (Fiji Sun 2/5).
Let's forget about "religious liberty' and just bring the Inquisition back!
The religious fanaticism advocated by Kelepi will surely move Fiji further forward from where rogue militarism has already taken the country.

  30. how come the leaders from the Melanesian countries are regarded eminent persons and the samoan prime minister is regarded an arsehole by the Bainimarama regime?
Is it because the man has the guts to call a spade a spade? He did call the Bainimarama "government" by its real name The Fiji Military Dictatorship didn't he? And he is of course right.

  31. In the latest Press freedom ranking Fiji at 120 out of 197 on the table comes Behind Vanuatu 45, tuvalu 47, and solomons, samoa and tonga at 61. These countries have "free media" and the Fiji media is "partly free".(FT 3/5)
Can anyone guess why and when that happened?
And all this time I thought Fiji was a more advanced democracy.
wonder since when fiji went backwards?

  32. ABC 24 news 3.5.
Pakistani cricket legend turned politician imran khan said in an election campaign interview that "everything is related to corruption in Pakistan - the institutions of state and society, electricty, governance"
And we hear Bainimarama followed the pakistan model!

  33. Reporting malaysian elections from KL
ABC Newsline's Jim Middleton's interview with the executive director of Centre for Independent Journalism who told him that the mainstream media gave 68.5% positive coverage to the ruling party thus giving it an unfair advantage.
What percentage positive media coverage for our ruling Military "govt" party for the coming elections?
Fiji sun gives 99% positive coverage because it has become a regime mouthpiece paper. Remaining 1% to continue the pretense of being an "independent" media!
