Reports from New Zealand say the regime's voter registration process is having problems.
Aucklander and former MP, Rajesh Singh, says he was at Moshims in Mt Roskill yesterday - the first day of registration - but there were no machines.
He says he was told by the acting permanent secretary for elections, Mohammed Saneem, the machines were held up in Customs.
Singh also says the regime is only advertising on Radio Tarana and that Saneem told him they didn't have the money for other advertising.
He says not a lot of people know they can register and just a handful have turned up.
Singh says he went back today and was able to be registered because the machines had arrived.
There is also some suggestion people are also confused over who can actually register, with some told they qualify even if they only have a new Zealand passport.
