Intel: Fiji soldiers partying the night before capture

Phillipines Defense Forum: Details of the Fiji surrender
Fiji's captured soldiers were celebrating the birthday of a senior officer the night before they were captured by Syrian rebels linked to Al Qaeda.

Intel sources say the 45 troops had kava and were doing the taralala so were probably incapable of decisive action the next morning when 150 rebels descended on them.

It's also emerged the Fiji peacekeepers wanted to fight but were ordered by a senior official from Suva's Queen Elizabeth Barracks to surrender.

Our story the troops had radioed Israel for help to move to a safe zone has meanwhile been verified on a leading Facebook site which has detailed a lot of information about the Fiji surrender.

Filipino soldiers hailed as heroes - not so the Fijians.
Discussions on the Phillipines Defense Forces Forum have confirmed Fiji's call for help to Israel was denied and they were told to hold instead because we no longer have status thanks to the regime signing a diplomatic agreement with Tehran.

C4.5 has been told the troops then called someone senior at QEB, who told them to lay down their weapons and surrender because they would be escorted to a safe zone.

The men were instead taken to a unknown location and no one has had direct contact with them since, although Al Nusra has released a picture of them and their ID cards.

The question that needs to be answered is "Who was responsible for telling the men to surrender?"

Sources say it could only have been someone senior, like the landforce or commander.

Chief: Pre-poll misleading

Felix Chaudhary
Friday, September 05, 2014 The Fiji Times

THIRTY villagers from Yaqeta in the Yasawa Group are worried they will not be able to vote today.

A pre-polling station will open on the island today and the villagers are concerned because they will still be travelling from Lautoka when polling closes at 6pm.

Tui Yaqeta Semisi Bete says the confusion lay on the wide awareness and emphasis that the 2014 election would be a "one day" affair.

"That is misleading because our people just found out that it is actually a two week process," he said.

"It is just unfortunate that they had to find out after arriving at the Lautoka wharf today (Thursday).

"People started asking where the villagers were going when pre-polling would be held on Friday (today) at the island. There was much concern and frustration because everybody knew the election was one day and this pre-polling they thought it was a trial or something, not the real thing.

"The boat usually returns on Friday but it has all its scheduled stops and sometimes reaches Yaqeta after 7pm.

"If someone wants it to return sooner they will have to pay and people don't have that kind of money. And anyway, they have come to the market to sell their coconuts and seafood, that's their only income.

"I hope they make some special arrangement and allow voting to continue a few hours into the night until the boat gets there so people can vote.

"They have been looking forward and will be greatly disappointed if they don't vote."

Editor,

I'd suggest you check up on Baledrokadroka writing that VB intended to run Fiji for 50 years without any election.

Now that is newsworthy.

http://www.securitychallenges.org.au/ArticlePDFs/Vol8No4Baledrokadroka.pdf

Check page 112.

VB should go and Tikoitoga with him.

The seizure & detainment of the Fijian soldiers i believe is just a diversion & distraction for what is really is going on in Fiji. That is to keep people's mind focused on the World New's of something very tragic, affecting the Fijians so dearly but really to deflect the mass people in focusing more of Bainimarama's looming evil plan & that is the sudden change of bringing election earlier, naming it as a pre-polling.Sort of like a, below the belt blow, when people are still off guard by events of the an old Chinese Vessel shooting of pirates claimed to be Fijians 17th August and captured Fijian
soldiers in Syria on 27th August.

As we know, Al Nusra is armed & supported by the US army to bring down the Syrian president. So my believe, the US might have advised the UN Commander in Syria boarder to inform the Fijian platoon leader to put down their weapon's & give in to their demand's.

The essence once again, same as the missing Malaysian flight MH370 & the blowing up of MH 17, is diversion and distraction.

Also see the numbers its all illuminati numbers MH17,August 17(upload youtube of Fishing vessel shooting, one month before election),September 17(election date).27th captured fijian army

All this video & tragic news is just a smokecreen. All of this is to gin up anger, hatred and most of all get your mind off what’s really going down.

What does the magician do? Draw your attention to one hand while the other is busy preparing the next trick.

The youtube fijian shooting(actually pirates from another country) & the Captured Fijian drama inter-twined events is no mere coincidence. Same planners. Same perpetrators.

It’s time to stop being hypnotized by these bastards.

It’s time to activate and stand up for what is true and right.

Kalougata kece tiko na kaiviti.

The proud history of FMF has gone down the drain because of very incompetent leaders after 20016.

The choice of these current crop of senior officers was purely based on loyalty to Bainimarama.

These senior officers lacked leadership skills and lack of military leadership both in combat and strategic planning etc.

More soldiers will be beheaded in future because of Bainimarama's incompetent leadership.

On Tuesday, it was revealed that the rebels were making additional demands. They demanded the creation of a UN humanitarian corridor in Southern Syria. They also demanded the release of an Al-Qaeda leader held prisoner in Syria since 2005. Their final demand was the immediate resignation or ouster of Fiji's military strongman Voreqe Bainimarama from the position of prime minister he usurped in a bloodless 2006 military-led coup.

On Wednesday, the rebels ominously warned that Fijian peacekeepers could "lose their heads" if their demands are not met. UN officials say they are taking these threats very seriously.

Unconfirmed reports suggest that some of the peacekeepers might have been killed during an Israeli airstrike conducted against Nusra Front forces after the abduction. The Israeli military has offered no comment.

The Filipino peacekeepers who escaped from the rebels Friday, without casualty and bringing their weapons out with them, are now resting in Israel. The Philippine high command lauded the professionalism and fighting prowess of its Philippine Rangers, saying their "Great Escape" showed they were "no paper tigers."

The number of Fijian peacekeepers taken hostage was originally stated by the UN as 43. The Fijian military command later clarified that the number was 44. Photos by the rebels instead showed 45 captives. Neither the UN nor the Fijian government has explained the discrepancy.

Remember the idiot who called himself Hanif and made numerous threats whilst posing as a Muslim, in order to stir up anti-Muslim sentiment? After labouriously reciting the Syrian order of battle, he promised us that the Syrian navy would be shelling Fiji by now.

AS IF!

So, what happened to the promised Syrian navy? Decided to holiday first on Turtle Island?

Hanif was a coward who was on a mission to spoil the good name of Brother Khaiyum.

The people of Fiji will have a Fiji First Necktie Party the day after we take back our government. And won't THAT be fun!

UN Officials shuttled along the rocky frontier between Syria and the Golan Heights on Friday, trying to establish the whereabouts of 43 United Nations peacekeepers seized by Al-Qaida-linked militants inside Syria.

Israeli forces took up positions at Quneitra, a fortified crossing between Syria and the Golan, barely 400 meters from Nusra Front militants, who attacked a UN base on the Syrian side of the border on Wednesday and seized the 43 Fijians.

About 80 UN soldiers from the Philippines, all of whom serve with UNDOF, a UN force that has monitored the disengagement zone between Israel and Syria since the 1973 Arab-Israeli War, remain locked down in two camps on the Syrian side of the frontier, military officers in the Philippines said.

Officials from UNDOF, which has about 1,200 peacekeepers from six countries operating in the zone, declined to comment as they left one of their compounds on Friday.

Israeli soldiers, including some redeployed from Gaza, prevented anyone moving too close to the border.

"We're not doing anything, we're just watching," said an Israeli officer, his platoon hunkered down behind a mound of rocks a few hundred yards back from the crossing, the blue UN flag fluttering above the compound in the near distance.

From a lookout point on the Israeli-controlled side, with views across southeastern Syria, Nusra Front rebels could be seen moving on motorbikes and in pick-up trucks, while further away the Syrian army battled opposition forces.

The sound of shelling and heavy gunfire echoed across the valley and plumes of smoke rose from buildings as the fighting played out barely two km (1.2 miles) away.

It is the third time in two years that UNDOF troops have been seized on the Syrian side of the demarcation zone, a measure of the instability since the uprising against Syrian President Bashar Assad began. Until then, UNDOF had been one of the quietest UN peacekeeping posts anywhere in the world.

In both previous cases those seized were released within days, UN officials said. But the situation appears to be more precarious this time. A militant close to the Nusra Front said the Fijians had been taken because they had been providing medical treatment to wounded soldiers from Assad's army.

In Manila, a senior officer said the Filipino troops holed up on the Syrian side were well-armed, well-trained and had no intention of surrendering to the rebels.

"Our position is a well-fortified position in the area of separation," said Colonel Roberto Ancan, commander of the Philippines Peacekeeping Mission Operation Center.

The Nusra Front had used a Fijian to urge the Filipinos to surrender, he said, but they would not.

"This is just part of the job and they are committed to the mission at hand," Ancan said.

Assad is a bastard ... USA also is to blame here .... They were supporters of Assad before ... N they actually are arming n supporting the rebels in Syria to topple him but they have the exact opposing policy in Iraq . fiji should always remain neutral ....the last thing Fiji wants ... Is a battle with these guys ....and more importantly ... If Fiji ever attracts the wrong attention ie if it is seen as opposing these terrorists ... It can bring terrorism to our shores ... Countries who have remained neutral are quite within their rights to do so ... We stand to lose more than gain a little ... It's not our WAR ...,
Ultimately and sadly ... In my view .. This " new world " is a power struggle between the west v radical Islamists . It's also my opinion that when China becomes the largest economy in the world ... We will have a major war ....an almighty War between the 2 giants ...globalisation , free trade , capitalism , migration has has had massive impact around the globe , it also has caused major conflicts globally as well .

Every soldier in the Fiji Military manning any outpost would be familiar with SOPs (Summary of Operating Procedures)that spells out in detail what action each soldier of each rank would be required to do in any situation. At any given time whether day or night outposts will have strategically posted sentries or even patrols to ensure that the personal at the location will be given sufficient warning time to grab their weapons and run to special guard positions in readiness to defend the location whenever there is any immediate threat. In any immediate threat Guard commanders would normally shout out "STAND TO" at the top of their voices.SOP's also require for rehearsals of this exercise on "Response to Emergencies" to be conducted whenever the commander feels necessary to do it.It is in fact the routine of any outpost for "Stand To" exercise to be done on a daily basis.
What happened to the Fiji boys in the Golan where a terrorist group entered with their weapons shows that our soldiers and particularly their commanders need to revisit basic skills outlined in the SOP's
The famous quote comes to mind, "There is no bad soldier, only bad commanders"

Anonymous 11:00 PM, the Americans have NEVER supported Assad. During the first Gulf War, they put together a coalition that included Syria, but that was with Assad's father, and the Syrians had very little involvement in the conflict.

Anonymous 8:46, just because Cain's wife isn't mentioned bt name doesn't mean he couldn't have had one. God made Eve from Adam's rib, so God could have done likewise for Cain. Or yes, perhaps Cain's sister did become his wife. But this was during antediluvian times, before the gene pool became badly corrupted,

Also, I know what God looks like. "And he that sat was to look upon like a jasper and a carnelian stone: and there was a rainbow round about the throne, in appearance like unto an emerald."

Just because you don't understand something doesn't make it a lie or bullshit.

Perhaps you see yourself as promoting religious tolerance, a noble pursuit. But the way to do that is not by demonstrating intolerance towards all religions, which is the approach you're taking.

Self Defence
118. The right of self defence is related to but separate from ROE and applies no matter
what other factors are apparent. Whenthe use of hostile armed force is imminent, the right
exists to useproportionate force, including armed force, in self defence to deter orneutralise
the potential attacker, or if necessary, to destroy the threat. A commander or individual is
obliged to exercise thisinherent right of self defence at all times whether or not this
right is explicitly stated in the ROE. Self defence is discussed in more detail in Chapter 2 .
Self defence may be exercised on an individual basis but the concept applies more broadly,
hence we can refer to:
a. individual self defence.
b. collective self defence,
c. unit self defence, and
d. national self defence.

Anonymous said...

In self defence, then, Fijians have the right to use proportionate force, including armed force, to neutralise the threat to our nation posed by Bainimarama and his co-treasonists, up to and including destroying the threat.
