Is it D-day for the thug?

Before you cast your vote today, think very carefully about the Fiji you want for your children, grandchildren and the future.

Frank Bainimarama is a thug, who has beaten women, including one who was pregnant. He has killed through his soldiers those who've dared speak out against him.

He has also silenced the media, trade unions, churches and corrupted the judiciary - organisations that should be operating independently.

His thuggery, backed up the military, is evident on this video which shows him revealing his true colours to a TV3 reporter while in New Zealand recently.

The thuggery was documented just days after he seized control in 2006, when he beat human rights activists, including stomping on the back of a pregnant woman.

So vote for the future - a future that offers freedom to the generations coming.

With the elections on today, we give you the opportunity to discuss freely the future of Fiji and the best party to lead a new democratic Fiji.

Some basic rules:
1. Please respect each other
2. No personal attacks
3. No swearing or foul language

You will be banned or the chat room removed if it is abused, so please adhere to the rules and enjoy the freedom of expression. Leave a comment on the story as normal if you want to speak to us.

  3. The people of Fiji will soon wake up to the realisation that the election was a fraud and they've been had.

It will feel like a great setback, but it won't be. It will be a great advance.

Because the people of Fiji will finally have awakened.

  5. Though this is not the end yet, but, ti's good to savor this long awaited moment, even if many have an inkling of an rotten election machinery!

Many of us in Qld, and probably Aust will not enjoy that privilege today )or postal polls), including yours truly and family!...but...but...others we trust will plunder hell today and vote this evil regime out!

Tonight is the night, either of knives or negotiations for a workable coalition to eventually take us out of this Bainimarama /Aiyuz nightmare...please, NOT with FFP.

...and make sure all airports with capacity to fly private jets are watched...should Bainimarama attains only 1289 votes!

Miracle still happens...and this is one of 'em.
Like miracle when prayers for blind eyes to SEE...conversely, for prayers seeing eyes to be blinded!...only when FFP supporter are out of the polling booth and...uh..uh...not sure if they indeed vote for the FFP..
    lol....lol....lol....

He did the opposite of Gods calling in his life (like some ppl him taking over was Gods will). I mean everyone makes mistakes but he has gone an extra mile. Torture & killing human beings. The blood of those killed & cries of those tortured is in his hands. And his followers who will be slowly rotting from then, today & tomorrow.

    ReplyDelete
  10. Anon@1.52pm You must be working for Fiji media or so used to the poor standards of Fiji media to judge this as pestering lols. Any journalists worth their crust ask the hard questions and keeps digging. Bainimarama so used to Fiji journos bending over he couldn't handle a lady reporter, lost his cool and nearly attacked her. This really shows he has no people skill, can't listen to people, and will resort to thuggery if he doesn't get his way. Shame and busted.

The few itaukei FFP MPs elected today knows to well their respective obligations and allegiances to their Vanua, family and churches.

The scales of deceit they have been poisoned with will wash off their eyes when the truth hits 'em at dawn tomorrow morning on their knees in prayer of repentance!!!

Do we Fijians really want a person like Bainimarama to be our elected PM and Aiyuz his legal designer to keep decreeing the demise of the itaukei race, judeo-christian values and culture??

Well...ask that from the new MP elected from the FFP...uh...when Bainimarama and Aiyuz and their loyal spies are not around..

Obviously you have not actually watched the video and taken note of EXACTLY what happened.

Perhaps one could argue in a court of law that he assaulted a microphone, but a half decent defence would say it was accidental.

So your interpretation of the incident only actually proves one thing, you sure have a great imagination.

  29. The Fiji Broadcasting Corporation has ignored the regime's ban on political advertising in the lead-up to tomorrow's general election.

Its editors or owners risk a five-year jail sentence for running a link on the FBC homepage for the FijiFirst Party which it says is paid for by the party's General Secretary, Aiyaz Sayed Khaiyum.

He is also a candidate in tomorrow's poll and the minister in charge of the election.

The FBC's CEO is the minister's brother.

The head of the Media Industry Development Authority, Ashwin Raj, says it's incumbent on the media to be able to disambiguate state functionaries and their quotidian nature of their work from advocating for a particular political party.

  51. Victory for Bainimarama??? Has Fiji indeed "spoken"?? We do not think so!

Come on! Who are we kidding?..uh...but ourselves!!

BAINIMARAMA WILL NEVER WIN!! In fact, he has just placed himself in a plateau, hence, inadvertently rendering himself vulnerable to domestic and international "democratic scrutiny" without the cover of Aiyuz lordship control over him. In the domestic front a credible and ever present and vocal opposition watching his every move, and of cause the movement of the monies he now has to surrender the control of the Treasury keys, phew! once and for all!!

Sooooo...did he really win? NO...NO...NO..we all were encouraging him and his mob to take us to the polls, knowing full well the evil intent for them to attempt hog onto executive control of our beautiful islands in the term of their natural miserable lives!!

As we said yesterday the battle towards full restoration of democracy has just taken a strategic turn..

NOW...my tauvu may have to increase his medication and his sheriff Aiyuz borrow some pills from his boy...opps boss.

Now..the real cleaning up begins by tracking all cents spent in the last 7 years..track down lollies sent to off shore account as widely alleged...the naughty bird voluntarily flew in to it's trap...lol...lol...lol!

In short, the 7 year Bainimara/Aiyuz rubbish are a towering pile over Qarase's rubbish that initially prompted the "clean up" response from Delainabua!

Let the game begin!!..Houston we have a problem...real problem!

Of course, we prayed for the election; and answers to prayers could be immediate...of in His own wisdom answers our prayers to give US time for real cleaning up in the wilderness....

    ReplyDelete
  52. Till this government is wiped off this earth then C4.5 will stop. Se cava. Great stand SODELPA. Not all Fijian people are with FijiFirst ( someone mentioned above.). Pliz get your facts rite, whoever you are. STILL SODELPA ALL THE WAY!!!

    ReplyDelete
  53. When the final results come in, I say we should go back to earlier postings and see who it was who called it correctly and who it was who got it wrong. Then we should start listening more to those who got it right and tend to ignore those who misled us.

    ReplyDelete
  54. The blue print has now been achieved. Coup culture is here to stay. If any future military leader can take power and hold it for 8 years they will be legitimised.

Frank and Aiyaz have just been legitimised. Anything they have done over the last 8 years will be immune from prosecution.

In time to come when things only get worse, watch how many people say they didn't vote for him. Well 60% of them will be lying.

Foreign investment will not return quickly. While gates and his Sri Lankan lackeys control the courts, foreign investors will have no confidence in the courts to take legal action against the government.

Frank now has full LEGAL control over Fiji. He is immune from prosecution. He has won.

This was a no won situation in any event. SODELPA don't have the answers. Now is the time for the bright young educated people of Fiji to join political parties with a view to democracy coming in about ten years or so.

There was a degree of inevitability with the whole process. For Frank it was all or nothing. Now he has has it all.

Whoever controls the military controls Fiji. Nothing has changed.

    ReplyDelete

  85. Fiji First did not win today. Democracy won today. Interesting to see how this Party handles the nuances that come with governing under democratic rules. Even though the other parties did not have the percentage of votes to govern at lease we will now have an opposition to monitor the dealings of Fiji First as Government. Open book now for all to see. My prediction is that after a year in office, Fiji First would have lost a good number of supporters.

    ReplyDelete
  86. Election count was not from the election day, but from the pre-polling count.

That is why they had pre-polling.

The commencement of counting showed the two parties were moving along as predicted neck to neck than boom, the pre polling count was counted by election officials and FF was unstoppable.

Why did they have to have pre-polling anyway.

    ReplyDelete
  87. Whatever! SODELPA all the way. Don 't be taken back by the words of his FFP sapotas caaa. Its NOT the end of the world yet. True SODELPA Supporter..!!

    ReplyDelete
  88. Pre-polling was likely designed to test the water, to gauge whether FFP would win outright, or whether further poll manipulation was needed. Either that, or it introduced a new opportunity for ballot stuffing, but that's less likely. No other possible explanation that I can see.

    ReplyDelete
  89. @Anonymous 9:07 PM

    How's this for an explanation.

There were some 2300 polling stations yesterday to make life easier for voters.

Now lets assume we also add all those stations where pre-polling was done.

That's one heck of a lot of stations to provide and man on one day IF you want to make life easy for the voters.

    ReplyDelete
  90. Anonymous 9:18, what's the difficulty in manning polling stations? The regime promised one day for the elections. Pre-polling showed the regime promise was false. It added to the confusion and was likely part of the ruse to steal the elections.
