Bainimarama slaps photographer at Fiji Day event

Prime minister by title but thug by nature.

A second citizen has been attacked by Frank Bainimarama -
Earlier incident: Bilitaki beaten.
a photographer who was slapped across the face after being ordered to stop taking pictures.

The incident happened on Friday evening at Government House during the Fiji Day cocktails and was witnessed by at least two people.

Witnesses say the newly-elected Fiji First leader slapped the photographer, who is believed to work for the Ministry of Information or the Corrections Services, and swore at him because he didn't wanted pictures taken of him and his family.
Injuries documented: Investigation underway.

The incident occurred at about 11.30pm.

The 2006 coup leader also ordered youth who were at the event to leave.

Bainimarama told them: "Raica dou kua tiko ni veitaba, dou vinakata meu cemuri kemudou ike" meaning "Look, don't take photos or I will chase you out of here."

Witnesses say while Bainimarama smacked a photographer for taking pictures, the family happily took snaps of themselves.

Government House staff reportedly did nothing about Bainimarama's attack on the photographer or him ordering youth out from the event.

Just over a week ago, a 60 year old composer was beaten by soldiers after he reportedly sent an angry text to Bainimarama over Fiji First using his songs for the election campaign without his permission.

Josefa Bilitaki says he required hospital treatment after the beating, which came just hours after he was told by Bainimarama to "fuck off."

While Bainimarama didn't do the beating himself, the order can only have come from him.

Police Commissioner Ben Groenwald originally tried to dismiss the case but has since said it appears certain processes were not carried out according to the law and an internal investigation is underway.

He says 'a combined team of police and military people' were involved ' but the investigation will indicate, if there was an assault, who was responsible for the assault.'

"Any person whether it's a policeman or a military person, if he or she commits a crime, they will face the law."

The Bainimarama attack on the citizen at Government House comes as President Epeli Nailatikau waxed lyric about the new Fiji, appealing to people to be patriotric and hopeful about the future.

"On this Fiji Day, let us all dedicate ourselves to our new democracy and join hands to make it work. We owe it to ourselves, to history and to generations to come, to finally achieve our potential as a nation.

"To make Fiji great. On Fiji Day 2014, may God bless us all in our efforts to become a better nation. May God bless Fiji."

  1. OMG...its a sign that Bainimarama has bi-polar.

He is suffering silently. Its obvious because he gets angry, lacks self control and jumps to conclusion.

Now that he realises how tough how the job is sometimes the spotlight is too much to handle.

Being taken pictures every second is part of public office and if can't handle the stress then someone needs to direct him to the rehab hospital and counselling.

Age is not his friend right now so he might suffer high blood pressure and heart attack if he is not careful.

Swearing is sign of no confident and unable to stand longer to a challenge.

Sending Army personnel to attend to civilians is a sign of insecurity.

Slapping civilians are form of vulgar that carefully tucks away beneath his skin but jumps out when you tap its sensitive part. A smart public figure can make a point without being violent. Frank isn't a smart person but a bully who doesn't know when to stop.

  5. Now that the dictator has become the democratic Prime Minister he will mellow according to Professor david Robie. This is a sign of Bainimarama's "mellowing"!!

  6. fiji only has a "democratic leader" in name. it has the same dictatorial ruler playing his usual game - of bullying, intimidating, threatening and abusing anybody he wants to.
If the PM in a western democracy did that he'd be kicked out the next day.
Frank Bainimarama does not have to observe the democratic norms of governance. That election thing was just for the international gang. He is still the dictator with the full backing of the Fiji military. Make no mistake about that. Anyone who does does so at his own peril.

  9. FREE WATER

FIJIANS who earn an annual salary below $20,000 will only be entitled to 50 litres of water per person per day free of charge, says Water Authority of Fiji CEO Opetaia Ravai. Mr Ravai said those exceeding the 50 litre limit would have to pay.

He said the Water Authority of Fiji was almost ready to provide Fijians living below the annual salary of $20,000 free water.

ANNUAL SALARY $20,000 ie $384 per week.
THERE'S A LOT OF PEOPLE IN SUVA EARNING LESS THAN THAT.

HOW LONG WILL THIS BULLSHIT LAST FOR?

THE Water Authority of Fiji may have to shelve some of its projects so it can cater for water cartage during the prolonged dry weather gripping the country.

Authority CEO Opetaia Ravai said so far cartage costs exceeded $1million and they were still carting water ....

    NO MONEY FOR FREE WATER.

    lol lol lol lol.

50 litres of water comes to a little less than 12 gallons per day. This amount may just be enough to shower about two persons.

  12. I have a video of Pita Waqavonovono trying to piss on the porch facing the sea that night. The First Lady then came out to get him and minutes later her official vehicle GP 116 a white Toyota prado come and takes him home. Pita was so pissed and didn't know what he was doing. He also happened to be hitting on some very respectable men when his true colors showed when he was drunk. I will post the video soon on Facebook.

  13. JUST A MATTER OF TIMEOctober 13, 2014 at 4:31 PM

IT won't be long before the slap lands on Khaiyum's face...it's only a matter of time...He has it coming. PM says what Khaiyum tells him to say and Khaiyum says what Nazhat Shameem tells him to say,so realistically the root cause of all our misery is none other than Nazhat Shameem. She too will get a slap across her face soon ,watch this space,it's coming. We in Fiji have a very volatile, on the edge PM who thinks that every click a camera makes ,is the click of a gun trigger and so he will flip his lid very very soon and put the Rabuka people back in power again after he has had enough crap from these two love birds. For the moment, these two can't believe their luck in manipulating a vacant man like Voreqe, but soon that will all end.

    ReplyDelete
  14. So the incident also with the woman reporter which was shown on video about three weeks ago was no accident either. Our idiotic PM did deliberately knock the mike out of her hands.

I'm now certain we're going to see many more uncivil sides of him in the not too distant future. Wouldn't be surprised if he started slapping (assaulting) his team mates in parliament either. But I think he's too scared to slap (assault) a member of the opposition team.

  30. The ONLY part of his maiden speech which is to be believed is where the dictator thanks all the gang who propped up his regime. All else is bullshit. especially the bit about level playing field, justice and fairness and equality. he has no genuine commitment to those democratic ideals. Anybody can mouth fancy speeches about those ideals. But no has to be judged by one's commitment and track record. Frank has an appalling track record. And, there is no sign he is a changed man. He is only playing politics by pretending to be a democratic leader.

    By NASIK SWAMI
    Wednesday, October 15, 2014

Update: 2:00PM OPPOSITION member Niko Nawaikula says the 2013 Constitution is one that has been imposed and does not carry the views of the people of this country.

In his maiden speech in Parliament Mr Nawaikula claimed that the Constitution was imperfect.

He said a Constitution should have the views of the people, provide mechanisms of good governance and separation of power.

  62. @Editor, may I suggest the following for your consideration please:

    1. Let us formulate a Censure Motion against Voreqe Josaia Bainimarama. He is mentally, technically and morally unfit to lead Fiji as PM.
    2. This Censure Motion shall be against Voreqe and him alone. It shall not include his party neither his other MP colleagues.
    3. That our Censure Motion be couched in the form of a petition to be signed by at least 60% of the Fijian population.
    4. That our CM be delivered to the Speaker, the Leader of Opposition, the President and the Deputy PM (Khaiyum Saddam Hussein).
    5. That we ask Parliament to remove JVB our current PM from Parliament and isolate him for medical and appropriate medical and spiritual attention.
    6. That JVB is technically, mentally and morally unfit to lead our country. This means that he is not technically qualified, not mentally stable and displays symptoms of mental trauma and emotional dysfunction. His words and actions over a the last seven years consistently demonstrate that he is morally unworthy and has no sense of right and wrong, good and bad and absolutely lawless and has no regard for the rule of law.

If you and our others agree, then let us please do this for the sake of our nation. We do not deserve to led by a mentally unstable criminal and a thug who has no respect for people, property and good order. Vinaka.

  63. @Tomasi 10:48 AM

Why don't you get off YOUR arse and organise something?

Why is it that the spewers of verbal diarrhoea like yourself always expect others to do something whilst they themselves sit back like the parasites they are relying on others.

YOU had a chance to be heard by voting but YOU have already admitted on these blogs that you did not even make the effort to do that.

YOU are a pathetic fraud, a con man and an idiot but most significantly a parasite!

    ReplyDelete
  64. @Anon 12.19pm. Isn't it so foolish of you to be making judgements of people you know nothing about? You have condemned me and judged me so harshly, even though you know absolutely nothing about me. I am merely making a positive and practical solution to a serious problem that is threatening our society today and our future generation. That problem is JVB. Instead of attacking my suggestion, you chose to attack me? That Mr Unknown tells us how narrow-minded, malicious, ignorant, arrogant and stupid you are.

If you will focus on my suggestion, you will note that I used the words" Let us ". If you did not understand what that means, let me tell you again. It includes some contribution from others and including me. I am not a parasite neither a lazy bugger. I was outside Parliament House at Veiuto in 1987, speaking face to face with our soldiers who had guns facing us that day. That was only one small part of what I and several others did to tell Rabuka and his people that we did not approve of what he did and that it was wrong. You did not know that, did you? So stop trying to be stupid and shut up. Read my suggestion again and comment on its merits and demerits.

Let me say again. JVB is not qualified to be our PM. He is partially mad to put it politely. From his words and his actions, he has consistently he is not worthy to be a national leader, let alone be the PM.

Why am I asking Coup 4.5 to help organise this initiative? Because it has the resources, the credibility and the reach. All we need to do is have that petition made, and people may sign to express their approval. Once the minimum threshold is reached, we will then take it to the next level. For Parliament to move a Censure Motion. The next level would be a mass rally and march.

Yes I am serious about removing JVB from power. He has abused power and destroyed people's lives before the elections. he continues to abuse his power and authority after the election. He is still behaving in a manner that is not consistent with the high office he holds and the democratic aspirations of our people. Thank you.

    ReplyDelete
  65. Oh Tomasi, all the rubbish and ideas and in 8 years the people of Fiji did not even get together to beat a biscuit tin to show any dissatisfaction with their PM.

You sound like some wannabe hero and gullible enough to even consider you have support in your views.

Do we care who you are, no we don't. You will remain where you choose to be, feeling persecuted because you have nothing to offer.

    ReplyDelete
  66. @Anon 6.10pm. You hide behind your mask, you criticize a sensible legal practical solution to a real serious and urgent problem of serious and far reaching consequences to our nation. And then you insinuate so wrongly that I crave for attention. How pathetic and absolutely stupid you are.

Rather than talking about Voreqe, we now have the opportunity to act in a legal and effective manner to address his criminal and morally repugnant actions. A censure motion in Parliament will be an effective way of telling him and those behind him that we as a society do not approve of his conduct. And that he needs to change asap.

I reckon that is the best action to take against a murderer, criminal and half mad idiot who is posing as the elected PM of Fiji. Now Mr Anybody hiding behind your mask, what do you say about that? Do you have a better idea or are you one of those idiots and zombie fools who support this moron? Or are you one of those servants of the devil QORVIS criminals? No matter who you are, I don NOT care. I love my country and all our people. I am one of those thousands who have given our very best building this country. We will not let you people destroy that and render us as slaves in our own land.

As you Mr nobody, I wonder what you have contributed to nation building. But given your foolish words without any substance, you must be one of those characters who think that you can contribute something by doing nothing and saying anything.

Stop, think carefully about my clearly defined option and then make a sonstructive comment. If you cannot do that, then please sgut up or take your negative stupid foolishness and flush it down the toilet. You will be better off without it.
