Nod from China and India - but at what price?

Big powers swarm Suva: what will be the implications?
Are we now heading towards an open door policy for Indians - just as we've been promised visas on arrival there?

And is this what we want?

Fiji has signed three MOU’s with India’s prime minister Narendra Modi but another 15 are supposed to be in the pipeworks.

The MOU’s allow Fiji to exchange land for a new chancery building in New Delhi, Fijian diplomats to be trained and for funding for an electricity and cogeneration plant.

“This is only the beginning,” we’re told. Beginning of what?

Fiji is already in debt to China: are we dabbling in the same bad medicine with India?

Australia has just signed a free trade deal with China and the labor movement there is already worried at the waiving of visas to allow skilled Chinese workers to be brought in to fill labour shortages on huge infrastructure deals.

Aussie jobs are already being outsourced to India.  Australia is a bigger country with a stronger economy - if sections are nervy about the price they're paying for 'stronger ties', can the smaller, weaker Fiji fend off unwanted trade offs?

The ties with China have already led to the number of visitors from there leap dramatically - will there now be a similar  influx from India? And what land was exchanged for the chancery?

In fact, what price is Fiji paying for the glory of hosting two emerging powers?

“I apologize to you, Prime Minister Modi, on behalf of the people of Fiji, for this inexcusable behavior, which does not have anything to do with the relations between our countries. It only shows that some of us have some lessons to learn about democracy, statecraft, and nationhood.”
Bainimarama says the government after elections should be about finding ways to work for the common good.
Bainimarana added that among other rights democracy includes political rights, economic and social rights—the right to medical care and a healthy environment.
The SODELPA members of Opposition had earlier today boycotted the special Parliament sitting because they believe the government deliberately excluded them from the planning of Modis’ state visit.
The government on the other hand had yesterday released a statement saying the planning of the trip was the government’s responsibility.

This is the price Fiji will have to pay when an uninformed electorate votes for a government that came in by the power of the guns.
By the way the dress of the Fijians from Sorokoba i.e. drauni vasili really shows what a cheap and no class bunch now rule our beloved country.
Frank does not have clue what is happening and the Indians are rubbing their hands in glee that they have taken over Fiji.
Call me a racist if you are illiterate - the real term is realism!

Indians havs not taken over anything.
You need to give credit to them who
1 ensured there were no intermarriages ( the taukie race and identity would have died long time ago. It was good the i taukies kept themselves dirty and and yucky which prevented Indians to get married to them
2 got Itaukies out of cannibalism and tught them that one does not eat another human being
3 taught that laziness and budging does not pay ( but this has not, after 100 years , sunk into their thick heads

Blame yourselves because Itaukies have been and are lazy, look for handouts . Blinis govt is trying to get you guys to get some sense and work to be prosperous.

Tui Viti,

I admire your energy but not your simplistic view of reality. Your level of education is still at the levels of Rewa Street mate. Do not think you know everything. That is pride. As for your preaching about Jesus Christ - that is usually kept inside, where it belongs.

As for you ANONYMOUS 12:02; thanks much for confirming my point that you are racists and given half a chance - Fijians will have no chance in their own land. You are hardwired with the caste system and that is how you have tried to describe us Fijians. I thot is was Fijian acceptance of Christianity that brought the light not the indentured slave labourers.

There is no dispute Christianity helped.
However, that was not alone. Otherwise, all Christians would think the way bible says. Look at Kepa/ Qarase - they are Christians but the biggest racists of all times

So next on the menu is the Chinese Premier visit and again we are going to reap the benefits bigtime, the whole world are now recognising Fiji as one of the new kids on the block,we may not be a superpower but we are halfway through.

The Fiji First Govt is the envy of the other parties in Fiji and the other Govt in the Pacific, yes,we lead the way in the Pacific,we do business with the Mike Tysons or Vladmir Klitchko's of the Economic and Military World and stand toe to toe with them, this is a LEGACY that the PM has made in his era of leadership, when come the time his Highness the PM retires his Legacy will be in the History Books of this Nation, the Pacific and the Globe.

It is the logical conclusion of a warped political ideology that sugarcoats racism, structural injustice and religious heresy. Blaming the Government for rescinding the invitation for a vote of thanks is a red herring. So is the issue of non-invitation to chief for the welcome ceremony. If SODELPA craves for the mantle of liberal democratic leadership in Fiji it might consider the words of Lord Ashdown, former leader of the Liberal Democrats in Britain. “There can be no place in the 21st century parliament for people with 15th century titles upholding 19th century prejudices.”

National Debt level way too high due to high demand levels in govt expenditure. Is there any other way out to boost economic growth in Fiji? Can we come up with a better formula/strategy ? The cost of external borrowing is to high - as we can see now with India and China signing MOUs and MO what nots. I wonder whats in these agreements. Hopefully no free fishing within our EEZ , mineral exploitation etc. I hope land/mineral resource owners are well educated enough to see the impact of all these deals on the environment , welfare and their future generation

Vili Rakoro said...

Buna the reason our debts levels are high is because of our small economy. At this moment in time there's no way out unless we want to become a communist country where everything is shared equally and freedoms of certain practice are restricted. Basically everything rationed in order to keep spending to a minimum thus enabling a higher rate repayment on national debts.
Give or take 100 years we should be able to reduce our debt massively but the sacrifice will be democracy and standards of living completely different.

The other strategy is borrow more in order to build a sustainable economy and paying minimum on our national debts. Now once we achieve sustainability then we can move up to booming where we can afford a higher rate payment on our debts. The upside to this is we'll be able to continue living in a democracy with a good standard of living. It may take longer but it is a better option.

To give you another example especially for the SODELPA supporters here who need things to be explained simply. Think about a loan you take whilst doing a casual job. Now to pay it back you can cut back on certain wants and just live on basic needs to afford acceptable payments. The other option is take more loans to build your earning power through higher education and training. Once you achieve this and gain better paid job then you can afford a higher rate payment at the same time continue to live a good standard of living.

Those are our choices and I prefer the second one.

Vili Rakoro said...

For the record those idiots have been around since our independence especially the 32 years before 2006. So the logical choice is the one whose only had 8 years in power because the ones before have had 32 and came up with nothing. Next 4 years is the next election so if you're not happy then vote for SODELPA and the lot that have administered us for the past 32 years before 2006. And if that happens then we might have to wait for another 32 years with even more debts.

Anonymous said...

Well as the saying goes baggers cannot be choosers. So when we are told to bend we bend no choice with all the debt there is there is no other way. We should trade off all those who are supporting the govt on coup 4.5 to all go and bend down to them. Ha ha.....what say Patricia Swan.

Thank you for the explanation Vili. Our only hope is to ensure that borrowing costs do not outweigh the benefits we gain from external borrowings. For internal borrowings, I hope govt is repaying well to FNPF. Good one Fiji keep it up.

Vili Rakoro said...

We've had debts even before this government. In fact the Rabuka government is responsible for the huge debts we have. This government is dealing with the knock on effects of past governments administration failure. Obviously they will have their own but to start of they were already working with negative equity passed over by previous administration. And at least this government is working on forming new friends with more trade opportunities. If you look at the opposition decision to stick their middle figure to a prospective trade partner like India through their leader then you begin to understand why the past 33 years before 2006 failed miserably in navigating our economic sustainability. They allowed petty domestic politics and disagreement to be showcased for the world to see. It's like having your parents argue in front of the kids and guests at home. It was childish and pathetic.

By all means disagree and argue but at least wait till the leader of the biggest democracy leave before you do so. The opposition and their supporters continue to have the lack of vision for our prosperity instead they continue to bicker and whinge like spoilt brats.

Their economic disability is amateurish and the past 32 years before 2006 haven't taught them one iota of competence.

Reality and theory is different and that is a given but they're both related. You need a plan before you excuse otherwise you're thinking out of your ass.

I was quiet on the auditor generals reports because it wasn't a new thing for Fiji. All governments are guilty of it not only in Fiji but around the world. Also we had a difference of opinion on who the blame should be rested on. You all blamed the government understandably because of your hatred towards them. I however chose to put the blame on individual department that had a hand in the debts through their mismanagement.

It's like blaming the parents everytime their children make a mistake. At some point the children have to take responsibility.

Anyways the chip on my shoulder was lifted the moment FF won the election. It's those SODELPA supporters swearing and cursing who still has theirs and maybe they need some curry to flavour their grey mind with it...hehe.

Growth forecast

Geraldine Panapasa
Wednesday, November 19, 2014

FIJI'S trade deficit was about $2.3billion last year and given the prospects of higher growth, this is expected to widen further over the medium-term, says Reserve Bank of Fiji governor Barry Whiteside.

Being a developing country with limited resources and a fairly narrow production base, he said, it was normal for Fiji to have a trade deficit.

"However a continuously widening trade deficit is unsustainable and can affect our external positive moving forward.

AND TO MAKE IT WORSE THE ONLY TWO THINS EARNING FOR FIJI ARE:

Two of our biggest natural resources are land and our big EEZ. If we can harness them to add to our economy it will be a plus. And if we add up all the small ones then that would be nice. One area I've always wondered is sports especially surfing and rugby sevens. We have the coral coast sevens and if we manage to get an IRB Sevens event then those two we could build over the years to become a good economic source for Suva and Sigatoka. If we use Nadi for the surfing and golf tourney then those two can gain from that. Obviously these a small gains but nonetheless it is better then nothing especially for the locals. Add them up along with Fisheries, perhaps local produce like sugar, ginger and other various fresh produce. Also use our lands for big scale cattle farming. All of these small scale business when added up do provide employment and most importantly trade products. We also have the garment industry. All of these can be achieved because we have lands to enable such products. Since independence we've had a mentality of oh we're only a small country so why bother. Well we ain't gonna know until we try it. We need to mass produce these and that means we need to sort out our qoliqoli and land policy. It is a touchy subject but nonetheless we've spent years wasting our resources it's about time we maximise it for our own benefit and our children. We really can't rely on aids and loans all the time mann. We need to educate our citizens in businesses and relevant trades. We need entrepreneurs and visionaries not grog bowl professors mann.

Buna said...

@Vili. Thats right well said, how about Fiji tapping into our neighbouring countries . Increase remittance by getting more people into regional employment...More economic growth is currently experienced in that side of the region so need to strengthen trade relations.
Tap into Dairy production/cattle farming , Fishing, agricultural produce to the high end export markets. Also stimulate growth by promoting ( to reputable countries please), cut down on Investment set up costs( more TFZ) and more incentives to Local producers (import substituted products).
Need more and more growth so we can sustain the economy. Also ensure we have enough FNPF returns and hence more $$ for our retirement

Vili Rakoro said...

Buna that's a very good analysis. Well done that's what we need all of us using our thinking cap for the better to improve our chances and country. Unfortunately we seems to only bring our A game when arguing about petty domestic politics. We have been doing so since independence and still have not learnt. These mentality unfortunately is present even with our leaders as the world just recently witnessed with our opposition namely their leader Ro Teimumu Kepa whom is a chief and no doubt is present in other chiefs too. The recent election debate between the two main party leader Kepa and Bainimarama is also a grand example. On the one hand Bainimarama is coming up with visions and ideas and Kepa rather then challenging it with her own set of ideas prefers to attack Bainimarama disputing his track record and ideas. And when questioned about what vision or idea she had, only manage to say continuously we'll think about it when we get to parliament. And she thinks she can run a country.

""8 YRS IN GOVT AND CANT EVEN FIX THE FARKIN WATER PROBLEM.""

I wonder if he is aware of those over the past years that will say they now have a more reliable water supply?

I wonder if he is aware that it costs the WAF $6 to produce one tonne of water but users only pay a few cents for it?

Of course he is but being the moron he is he uses a simple burst pipe report from the papers giving us yet another laugh at his simplistic mind.

Perhaps a lesson from Rajend Naidu may be useful if he wishes to pursue this tactic.

Anti Government commentator Eva E-Mc who is really Eva Emori married to George Zoing her second husband is a wanted woman by some in Fiji. She is first wanted by the wife of her nightclub DJ boyfriend whom she has been coming to Fiji to see after the Levuka Public School reunion. She portrays herself as a Magoon when in fact her father is an Indian from Levuka and she is not in anyway related to the Magoons as she doesn't have any of that blood. Magoon's are ashamed of her activities and comments and don't want anything to do with her. Her father is from Korovisilou and that is why her surname is Emori which she pretends does not exist. George Zoing doesn't realise the reason she is coming to Fiji to see her new DJ boyfriend which the Magoons are ashamed of as she is dragging the Magoon name down the shit hole. Her antigovernment comments have also been noticed and some people are waiting for her next trip to Fiji to deal with her.

Hey I know this Eva E-Mac who goes around claiming to be from Vagadaci in Levuka, when in fact she is from Krovisilou in Serua. They used to live in Nadi and excuse my language but she was a loose big time kalavo. Her mothers father (grandfather) was an Indian from Levuka and her mothers mother (grandmother) is from Vagadaci. Her father is from Korovisilou. She has a brother working for ATS in Nadi. She definitely is disgracing the Macgoon name by pretending to be one.

One consistant tactic I've noticed SODELPHA supporters use like Kua ni Rere, Rainmaker and Tomasi, they only say half of the truth, the half that supports their theory, I always research about many other facts that changes the bias picture they often present.

And when posting this new facts to rectify the picture they curse and swear at me and try to make me look critical and accuse me of being a Bainimarama apologies…however I cannot hide from the fact that the facts SODELPA supporters often provides is extremely selective which imply its manipulative. Once you add the rest of the data that is out there…well SODELPA supporters get very angry and offended because it is not what they would have loved to see, but if you get offended by the truth, then there is a problem.

With that being said facts are very selective, we can choose what data we want and how we want to represent it, this is what Kua ni Rere, Rainmaker, Tomasi and other SODELPA supporters do and what I do to respond with. Selective sampling is the deliberate skewing of facts. SODELPA supporters are very good at it. And this is not about SODELPA vs FF its about me adding correction to skewed data representation.

Anonymous said...

I am a SODELPA supporter but I think that this time the party was wrong in deciding to boycott attending India's PM's address in Parliament. It was not illegal but just childish given my limited knowledge of why they wanted to boycott.

This does not mean that I have stopped supporting SODELPA because the bigger problem is that Bainimarama, Khaiyum and their cronies cheated the innocent peoples of this nation by covering up all their crimes even from before they illegally took over the legal government in 2006. There are so many crimes to ignore. But time is on truth's side because truth will always stand the test of time.

India's PM Modi will not be able to save Bainimarama and Khaiyum and their accomplices as Naboro jail beckons when reality and truth will catch up to them.

Very true Vili.

The Kua Ni Rere's and Tomasi's of the SODELPA following are some of the greatest assets the present government has, as it also had before the election.

Their selective propaganda and abusive attitude has done, and still does, nothing but give a good representative example of the mentality of what this governments opposition is, zilch.

Whenever and wherever did Tomasi ever "curse and swear" at you? I find Tomasi's posts informative and a class above many that appear here. He is God-fearing and does not use obscenities and profanities to emphasize his points of arguments as much as i am opposed to some of them.

If you will show me some examples of Tomasi's use of swear words then some of your arguments may even be believable.

@ anonymous 5.11 pm

I've been following this blog a while now and reading comments. Whenever I see a post with so called facts I research it straight away and gosh the consistency of their selective sampling is by now the norm. At first I rigorously reply to it using the full facts and everytime I'm met with swear and abuse to the point I realised this guys ain't here to debate, they're here to fight regardless of how wrong they are which means it's pointless trying to reason with them.

Therefore I've taken a reserved approach now just commenting using simple tones with a bit of fascist twists. This lot don't care for Fiji's prosperity they just want their relatives in SODELPA to be in power so they can fill their pockets like how they've always done.

Lucky for all of us after 32 years of this Bainimarama came in 2006 and swept them to the dustbins of history where they should have gone long ago.

KUA NI RERE said...

GO BACK & READ IT BEFORE COMMENTING.

What I was highlighting is your incompetency KNOWING THAT IT COST $6 A TONNE THEN YOU GO AHEAD AND SELL IT FOR LESS....
So what the fark were you expecting?
Were you expecting a profit?

You knew there was a problem then how come you didn't fixt it.
So FARK U.

WAF is Incompetant.
Bai is stealing money.
That's why there is no money to fix the water supply.

We thank the Indian PM for taking the time to visit us. Many of us were glad to see him and hear him speak. It was clear he felt at home here and he said it himself. Please let us try and keep that warmth and friendliness as a nation. Let us never lose that for whatever reason.

I also saw our distinguished guest speaking at FNU. He was comfortable there and I applaud the staff of FNU and the High Commission for making that possible. But I wondered, can our own PM speak from his heart at FNU or a higher learning institution?

Tui Viti said...

It is evident from the last post that the PM is the envy of even Coup .5 Admin, they cant get over the fact that the PM and FFP Govt has the ability to lure two mammoths of the Economica, Hi-Tech and Military World onto our shores,he is like a maestro waving his wand whilst the musicians adhere to his commands to produce the finest classical piece of music ever heard.

What do we get out of this Modi meet you ask? 1. A state of the art Parliament library to assist our Parlimaentarians and the people of Fiji in research 2. $5M to promote micro-economics in Fiji, one of the foundations of a strong economy 3. $ 135Million FJD for co-generation power plants. 4. Doubling scholarships and training slots in India for students and Civil Servants 5. Visa on arrival- no red tapes. to name but a few plus close consultations on many issues esp Peacekeeping and UN Reforms very important for Fiji.

We stand to benefit from this on the days ahead, a domino like effect catalysing our economic growth and improving trade on a much larger spectrum.

Quote " FIJI IS AN INFLUENTIAL VOIVE IN THE PACIFIC REGION AND THE DEVELOPING WORLD...." unquote said PM Modi, how about that,THAT IS ONE HUGE STATEMENT TO MAKE ESP FROM A TOP DOG LIKE INDIA.

Well we are members of the Top Round Table now,as PM Bai once said our vote in the UN is as good as Aust and NZ,now a former senior Aust Govt official is vying for the top post as UN Sec Gen, she is hell bent on removing Fiji from all UN Peacekeeping because she is aware how much it contributes to our Image to the Whole world and the financial benefits that we reap from it.

Debts to China is nothing unusual, when you make trade agreements and sign MOU's with bigger Nations they are obliged to lend us loans and we are also obliged to provide them with resources such as Bauxite, Fish from our pollution free and abundant oceans[to name a few] to feed the billions of Chinese on the mainland.

Likewise for India and we could provide them with a lot eg Naval Base, Military Base and Military Airport they dont have to be on land but we have the vast expanse of the ocean and these will act as deterents to Aust and Nz to keep their distance or else..

This is the beginning of many more MOU's on free trade agreements with maybe the whole Asian Region. There is alot on offer our Govt has to select a commitee to look into the finer details of the MOU's agreed and signed so as to maximise the benefits we would reap.

Aust has just signed free trade deal with China,so what so can we,we can also sign one that is tailor made to suit our Economy.

Chinese labourers are already in the country building the nations infrastuctures whilst we send our labourers to Aust and NZ for seasonal work and our skilled workers like IT,Nurses,Doctors etc to be included also.

What price have we to pay, from my understanding both the Indian and Chinese are paying for all their expenses on this Historic Trip, yes,All Expenses incurred are covered by the two Nation,so it is a Win,Win situation for the Nation.

This is a Legacy unparalleled, unsurpassed and unequalled in the Nations history and the future.

Thank you PM God Bless you and your family and i propose that our Honourable PM His Excellency and His Highness deserves a Medal for his efforts,Highest Order of Fiji similar to the VC.

I rest my case for I have proved beyond reasonable doubt that we are in good and capable hands.

Here's something to reflect on what the Chinese nod might entail. This was in the SBS news 20/11 so I googled to get more details and this is the result.
The Film - The Buddhist of Mes Aynak.
A documentary by Brent E Huffman.
The Buddhas of Mes Aynak is the story of a race against time. The documentary follows an international team of archaeologists as they fight to save a 2,600 year old Buddhist city in volatile Logar province, Afghanistan. Led by Philippe Marquis of DAFA, the French Archaeological Delegation in Afghanistan the specialists attempt to document the ancient Buddist city of Mes Aynak before its imminent destruction .The location, called one of the most important archaeological discoveries in Asia, will be demolished by a Chinese government owned mining company (MCC). MCC will exploit the location for over 100 billion dollars worth of copper located directly beneath the Buddhist temples...
What will China exploit in Fiji and at what cost?

The great leaders of the world are not looking at Bai but the fact that we have some semblance of democracy and thus are supporting Fiji not Bai. Having said this it is however worth noting that the world and with it Fiji is changing rapidly. Cultural, religious and racial lines are being blurred more and more and they are getting thinner. Those dinosaurs living in the past will simply be swept away in the tide of modernization and technology.

Many in Fiji are excepting this as the new reality. I urge you i-taukei who are living in a quagmire of shit from the past to let go and embrace change or you risk becoming irrelevant and a minority group who no one will care about.

Editor,
It seems the lynch mob is out to round up Ro Teimumu Kepa and her party for boycotting the special sitting of parliament to mark Indian PM Narendra Modis visit.
These later day fascists need to remember there is no meaningful democracy without dissent. Dissent both in parliament by parliamentarians and outside by citizens and civil society. In Fiji in recent times there has been a conspicuous absence on both fronts.
I am sure the Indian PM knows well the place of dissent in a democracy. There is a lot that in the Indian democracy. That is what makes it qualitatively different from the political system in China and North Korea where dissent is seen as un patriotic.
Such a charge, of being un patriotic, cannot be levied against Ro Teimumu Kepa and her party.
Let us not forget if it was not for the right to dissent the civil rights leader Martin Luther King and Mahatma Gandhi and the pro democracy leader Aung Sung Sui Kyi would not be the great iconic leaders they are regarded to be today.
Let us not exaggerate the harm caused by the SODELPA boycott and see it for what it was. A democratic expression of dissent.
If one wants to focus on what has harmed the country there is a lot to go on.
Let us begin with the Auditor Generals report of rampant abuse of public funds and government systems for starters.
Sincerely,
Rajend Naidu

By FELIX CHAUDHARY
Friday, November 21, 2014

Update: 11:57AM FIJI'S current debt stands at $4billion, which represents 49.8 per cent of gross domestic product, says Attorney General and Finance Minister Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum.

While delivering the 2015 National Budget, he says work is being done to reduce this by more than one per cent next year.

"With the 2015 budgeted fiscal deficit and growth outlook we expect to reduce total debt to 48.7 per cent of GDP next year," he said.

When we offer our penitent spirit to God and those whom we have wronged, there is nothing else God can do but forgive us as He is forgiving in nature. Our human and carnal nature may hinder us to be forgiving but it is also offensive to God when we do not show mercy to those who wrong us.

Well, in retrospect I believe you did and the main focus was centred on Australia and New Zealand. What you were told was that there was no way that our longtime allies would even consider such a proposition so soon in the making. Obviously they've acknowledged we've returned to a 'democracy' after the recent elections BUT remember I said Fiji will not be considered free flow movement or visa upon arrival agreement so soon, no way!! Thug rule and military dictatorship for 8 long years is a serious crime . Countries like Australia and New Zealand are not stupid to engage in visa free diplomacy of this nature at the moment.. It will take a long time yet for some positive signs to develop. Julie Bishop The FA Minister of Australia has however offered opportunities to those of us who are keen to undertake seasonal fruit picking jobs . This op is offered to other island nation countries as well. So there ....isn't that good enough? More to come dependant on how it all turns out. Good advice says behave n be remorseful and you will be repaid . Not commit an illegal crime and blame your allies for bullying! Tut. Tut. Lol

So....going back to the point you made regarding visa on arrival agreement in India? I see someone like yourself who's prone to easy deception welcoming this 'friendly' gesture any time. If I had to I probably would make the trip to India and enjoy free visa offer. But that won't have you see me jumping up and down in glee like you vulnerable lot. I have questions to ask the FF government first and foremost before I'd endorse my approval to any wide open door policy,

I'm thankful that the 50 hectares of land my grandfafher owns in Namosi is still in tact and not locked up in a land vault! Thugs like Frank and cunning Aiyaz can never be trusted. Very dubious and risky undertakings by the FF lately!

The concerns raised here by Coup 4.5 are valid. As a citizen of Fiji I'm surprised that Frank and Aiyaz have desperately signed 3 MOUs already and there are 15 more!!!! My goodness!!! PM Modi offers Fiji free visa upon arrival and we all are supposed to clap our hands in glee. Now while we can show some gratitude in return how about ask the FF what does Fiji have to offer India in return??? We haven't heard that part yet have we??? Not until we start noticing that we either have a "little India" or similarly a "little Chinatown" that have sunk the real Fiji to the depths of the ocean will we sit up and take note to what these conniving conning greedy self-centred TWO have done to FIJI and the rest of us.

It's no surprise that Frank and Aiyaz are desperately trying to "scratch" for gold with foreign super powers coming to their aid with great interest. What's with Russia and the UAE?? What's with Qatar? What's with the FF wanting to take complete control of the import of Fossil fuel??? Hhmmmmmmm

In the years ahead Fiji will never ever be the same again. The soul of this nation has ALREADY been sold to the Devil through Aiyaz Khaiyum and his puppet Frank Bainimarama.

China prostitution , sex houses , illicit drugs and mafia groups gambling - we will definitely see increase in growth!

Influx of Indian immigrants with free visa entries similarly extended to kind donor country China!

Anticipate ISIL immigrant terrorists through open door policies with kind donor terrorist Arab countries.

I guess not even an ounce of truth is considered valuable to FF supporters. What about Tui Viti??

BEWARE OF AIYAZ KAIYUM AND HIS MINORITY MUSLIM BROTHERHOOD IN FIJI. ATTACHED BELOW A GLOBAL WARNING SENT THROUGH FACEBOOK.WE WERE IN PEACE FOR 170 YEARS BUT UNTIL AIYAZ KAIYUM MUSLIM CAME IN WITH HIS FAMILY AND UNTIES.

"Why wait till we have the same immigrant problem as Europe. Muslims in Holland have pushed the envelope too far and have decided to push back.

A message and report from Holland.
Scrapping multiculturalism ....worth reading!

Go Dutch . . . But Why Wait Until 2015? The Netherlands , where six per cent of the population is now Muslim, is scrapping multiculturalism. The Dutch government says it will abandon the long-standing model of multiculturalism that has encouraged Muslim immigrants to create a parallel society within the Netherlands ....

A new integration bill, which Dutch Interior Minister Piet Hein Donner presented to parliament on June 16, reads: "The government shares the social dissatisfaction over the multicultural society model and plans to shift priority to the values of the Dutch people".
In the new integration system, the values of the Dutch society play a central role.

With this change, the government steps away from the model of a multicultural society.

The letter continues: "A more obligatory integration is justified because the government also demands that from its own citizens."
It is necessary because otherwise the society gradually grows apart and eventually no one feels at home anymore in the Netherlands ....
The new integration policy will place more demands on immigrants. For example, immigrants will be required to learn the Dutch language, and the government will take a tougher approach to immigrants who ignore Dutch values or disobey Dutch law.

The government will also stop offering special subsidies for Muslim immigrants because, according to Donner; "It is not the government's job to integrate immigrants." (How true).

The government will introduce new legislation that outlaws forced marriages and will also impose tougher measures against Muslim immigrants who lower their chances of employment by the way they dress.
More specifically, the government imposed a ban on face-covering, Islamic burqas, as of January 1, 2014..

Holland has done that whole liberal thing, and realized - maybe too late - that creating a nation of tribes, will kill the nation itself.
The future of Australia , the UK , USA , Canada and New Zealand may well be read here..

READERS NOTE: Muslim immigrants leave their countries of birth because of civil and political unrest ... ......."CREATED BY THE VERY NATURE OF THEIR CULTURE."
Countries like Holland , Canada , USA , UK , Australia and New Zealand have an established way of life that actually works, so why embrace the unworkable? If Muslims do not wish to accept another culture, the answer is simple; "STAY WHERE YOU ARE!!"

This gives a whole new meaning to the term, 'Dutch Courage' ...... Unfortunately Australian, UK , USA , Canadian, and New Zealand politicians don't have the ..... guts to do the same. There's a whole lot of truth here!!!!
ELECTIONS are COMING!!!!!
A Nation of Sheep, Breeds a Government of Wolves!

Borders: Closed!
Language: English!, Kiwi, Aus.
Culture: The Constitution, is the Bill of Rights!

NO freebies to: Non-Citizens! We the people are coming!!!

Editor,
Australian foreign minister Julie Bishop is good mates with coup PM Frank Bainimarama and gave his interim government a helping hand to hold elections and return to democracy. She is held in very high regard in Fiji by the Bainimarama government and its supporters which of course include the propaganda paper the Fiji Sun.
But here is another view of Bishop from Australians themselves.
1.'Politicians weasal words mean nothing' by Teresa Martin-Lim in The Age 22/11.
" Julie Bishop : how is allowing for dumping of wastes in the Great Barrier Reef "world's best practice"? And, Queensland Environment Minister Andrew Powell: how is your government's industrialisation of the Queenland coast considered " working to preserve the reef for future generations"? Does the Australian Academy of Science's response to your so-called sustainability plan. or UNESCO's concern for the future of the reef, count for nothing?
2. 'When ignorance is dangerous' by Greg Curtin in the Age 22/11

Everywhere including the new Parliament, the Police Force, the Prison Services, the Fiji Military, the Judiciary, the Fijian Civil Service, the Fijian Universities, the Fijian Churches and Other Religious bodies, the Fijian Chief Society...
And of course the common thugs who do pick pocket and petty thefts and home break-ins... Sounds like paradise - for thugs.

Even SODELPA agrees with the budget. Were Rabuka or Qarase able to prepare a budget like this? Answer is no. No major development took place during their time. The deficit of 4 billion is substantial. After accounting of overseas aid this will further come down. During Rabuka and Qarase period the deficits was $2billion to $3billion dollars without any major developments. Fiji is now a shinning light in the South Pacific. It was a great week for Fiji. China and India are now the new economic global powers whether SODELPA likes it or not. Two world leaders visited Fiji. and now this creative budget. Fiji will become the hub of Pacific which NZ and Australia are frightened very much. Did both the leaders visit NZ? Answer is no. NZ is about 120,000 Indians. Fiji will become the way the world should be once again which was destroyed by Rabuka and Qarase. Finally I would like to see Opposition's budget. God bless PM Bainimarama, FF and Fiji. Halleluiah.

There is not much thought given to their allegations.

KUA NI RERE please read this news. FF will run for another 20 years. All good news including the Budget. Did Rabuka or Qarase prepare a budget like this.

Colliers International has released its inaugural South Pacific Island Hotel and Tourism Report covering key South Pacific countries including Fiji, Tahiti, the Cook Islands, Papua New Guinea (PNG), Samoa and New Caledonia.

"The South Pacific tourism market is heating up after a long period in the shade," says Dean Humphries, the national director of Colliers International Hotels.

Sekove said...

News continued from above.

He says the renewed optimism is a result of the easing global financial crisis and a number of geopolitical events that have occurred including the recent Fijian elections returning a democratically elected Government after eight years of military rule.

"With regional and global economies improving, we are seeing encouraging signs of increased tourism activity, culminating in improving revenue and property values," says Humphries.

"As with recent trends in New Zealand, Fiji is reporting record occupancy and room rates while other markets like PNG, Samoa and Rarotonga are also displaying strong trading conditions.

"In the past 12 months the South Pacific region's key performance metrics and transactional inquiry levels have risen as global markets recover and discretionary spending on leisure tourism increases."

Sekove said...

Humphries says new development is also featuring in Fiji, Samoa, New Caledonia and PNG and renewed investment activity has been noted.

"This is a result of a several large transactions in the last year, and more significant assets being offered to the market as investors take advantage of counter-cyclical buying opportunities."

Colliers International's hotel division has produced a visitor-supply ranking index based on inbound visitor arrivals and the supply of hotel rooms and resorts.

"This is a very effective barometer for investors wanting to identify key markets in the region where activity is most likely to occur over the short to medium term," Humphries says.

The ranking has Fiji at number one, Tahiti second and PNG third, with other markets such as Samoa and the Cook Islands showing signs of improvement.

A first "South Pacific hotel investment cycle clock", produced in conjunction with a number of regional industry experts, also forms part of the report,

"This identifies where each market is in terms of its current revenue performance," says Humphries.

"While many countries are towards the bottom of the hotel investment cycle, there are encouraging signals that most of these will enter a growth phase over the short term."

The report includes the recent sales of large resorts in Fiji such as Sonaisali Island, Castaway Island and Outrigger on the Lagoon.

New resort developments include the resurrection of the Momi Bay development in Fiji after its collapse in 2007. Marriot International plans to open a five-star, 250-room resort there in 2016. Other notable projects are the refurbishment and rebranding of Aggie Greys Hotel and Bungalows in central Apia, Samoa, and the rebranding of Aggie Greys Lagoon Beach Resort and Spa, which is opening under the Sheraton brand next year.

KUA NI RERE FOR YOU AND YOUR SODELPA PARTY.
AS expected, the A-G and Finance Minister delivered to the Fijian people in his 2015 National Budget address what the FijiFirst Party promised in their election campaign manifesto and more.

Our national budget plus help from other nations should turn our lives around and add value to it if we fully appreciate and use it to the maximum.

The government has delivered its budget and already all the ministers and departments are working round-the-clock to meet the needs of the people.

This budget announcement is much better than all the goodies announced last year which we are experiencing this year.

2015 should be a good year for Fiji but the onus is on all of us Fijians to put all our differences aside, unite and work together using the allocated budget to grow our economy and move forward into this new dawn as a really smart nation.

Let us all, with the 2015 National Budget and other grants and helps from other nations work together to be healthy, wealthy and wise.

And as commoners we should follow and do whatever the chief say. I shook my head and thought blimey, do they really think in these modern age that sort of bullshit is gonna fly. I mean sure it worked in the past campaigns but surely they would have done their research. They never even mentioned anything about their manifesto and how they're going to take Fiji forward. They spent the entire presentation not asking but telling the people if my village to vote for them because their leader is a chief and we should always obey chiefs. They also talked about how Fiji first was the devils party. And standing right beside them was the Methodist reverand whom after they cursed the Fiji first party went on to pray to God for blessing to Kepa. And not even a thought on the villagers in his prayer. I could not believe their arrogance and stupidity. And reading comments from SODELPA supporters in here it just mirrors those that came to my village. They swear and curse at Bainimarama and Fiji first supporters and then pray to God to bless them. This one is from Toby Turner writing in The Australian 21/11 and very relevant to Fiji.
" Public broadcasting performs a vital democratic function that private media companies do not. There is no meaningful democracy without dissent. A true democracy needs a properly funded public broadcaster with an independent editorial board capable of escaping corporate influence and providing a full [critical]analysis of government policy. We should increase, not decrease, the capacity of the ABC to perform this role".
How effectively is this public watch dog role being meet by the relevant media in Fiji?
What is the role of MIDA? Any independent, critical analysis? Or, just doing the Government's bidding?

SODELPA TURNS TO SH*T said...

SODELPA supporters are angry because they lost. And they continue to lose. They have just made fools of themselves before 1.2 billion people by boycotting the Indian PM's speech in the Parliament. Their beef was with Bainimarama, not the Indians. But they choose to insult the world's largest democracy by boycotting its leader. For anyone familiar with Fijian protocol, this was the most astonishing insult. Now, we have Ro Teimumu praising the 2015 Budget. It's her job to oppose, not to praise. But she is as useless as a politician as she is as a chief. SODELPA is already on course to be wiped out as a party because it is irrelevant. It has no policies that appeal to everyone in Fiji, just it racist, stupid supporters. And if the best that Biman Prasad can do is call the Budget boring, then he is just as pathetic. Get set for four years of Fiji powering ahead and an even bigger FijiFirst landslide in 2018. Ro Teimumu needs to go and see her good friend and political kai vata, the Archbishop, and start praying for guidance. But the way things are, God can't help her either. A complete disaster. Thank God ordinary Fijians were smart enough to see it before the election. Because can you imagine what a shambles the country would be in now? As for all of you deluded cheerleaders overseas, why don't you come back to Fiji and take part in the process or shut up.

KUA NI RERE said...

In fact he would have understood very well, that "protests" are part and parcel of being a Democracy.
He would have felt right at home.
Everyday there is some sort of protest happening in India.

ON THE OTHER HAND, YOU GET INSULTED...
YOU KNOW WHY?
BECAUSE IT WASNT ALLOWED WHEN YOU WERE GROWING UP IN THE LAST 8 YEARS.

SO FOR YOU, PROTESTING, IS LIKE A "FOREIGN FLOWER".

YOU GET INSULTED BECAUSE YOU ARE CHILDISH and you dont understand.

Modi knows that he is a PM in India only for 5 years unless re-elected.
HE DOES NOT HAVE AN ENTITLEMENT MENTALITY LIKE BAINISONA AND HIS FAMILY.

He said true friendship in the Pacific way was long term and not for convenience and Dr Mediocre Sharma approves what he said.
The fact is "true friendship" in "the Pacific way" is to gloss over the wrongdoing of a fellow Pacific islander. In Fiji even rape is to be "forgiven" with " a traditional apology". That is the kind of bullshit Lagonilakeba and his admirer Dr Sushil Mediocre Sharma are about.

China increases its aid by $50 million. Thank u very much. You are indeed our good friend. Your total aid package is now more than $580million. A message to NZ and Australia. While these countries give $20 to 50 million dollars in aid to Fiji you extract about $400 to 500 million dollars by exporting your low quality stuffs to us. Your high quality products are going to rich countries including European union. NZ and Australia are also desperately trying to get Chinese and Indian markets and woo their investments. It is time for Fiji to attract Chinese investors in the Dairy Industry. In NZ Chinese investors are buying dairy farms in NZ. We import about $250million dollars of dairy products from NZ. The government should develop and attract investors in the following industries eg, dairy, Potatoes/onion, chicken, beef, rice, lamb, etc so that we reduce our import bills. Call Centre can be another lucrative industry to develop in Fiji as people in Fiji especially itaukeis have good English accent. I have already answered that particular question earlier in my comments on these same article. This shows you didn't even bother to read all the comments above yours. Stop making a fool of yourself and try reading earlier comments you dumb ass. And do you really think swearing is going to make you look scary and respectable? Your mentality is full of narrow minded ideas. Majority of I Taukei voted for FF along with majority of other ethnicity so guess what we're happy. You and your lot are frustrated and are making yourself look like fools. Even your leader have the same mentality making herself look like fool to the whole world when she chose her and her SODELPA party to boycott the Indian PM visit. Remember if you're not part of the solution you're part of the problem.

What these SODELPA supporters have is self delusions. While their conscious mind usually accepts the new lies like the election was rigged their subconscious mind always responds with severe negative emotions.

They had a dream of SODELPA winning and everything back to like it always has which is hard coded in their brain and heart. If they gave up on it they will only end up feeling disappointed even if they managed to deceive their conscious mind which knows the reality.

They need to be brave enough to accept reality and when they do then they can start to move forward and enjoy life. The fact they're not has consistently manifests itself in their comments through curse and swear.

Reading their comments you can almost feel their anger and saddness. I feel sorry for them because for us FF supporters and those SODELPA supporters whom reality has been accepted we are enjoying our life. This lot however don't realise that the more they choose to live in the past the more they delay their opportunity to flourish in the new modern inclusive Fiji.

You cannot expect to have a 19th century attitude and lifestyle living in the 21st century. That's almost like moving to a new country and expecting to continue living they way you have been whilst you were in your own. You gotta learn to adopt otherwise you'll be viewed as a dinosaur syndrome person that has no place in the modern age.

God bless us all.

hehehehehe Vili Boci is getting angrier and is now swearing a lot, goes to show that his pea-brain is the same size as his testicle, yes tresticle since he only has one.

His rantings can only mean he's one sick mother-fucker who fantasises about men while playing with his vudi. His inferior intelligence is a testament to his pathetic attempts to justify the misuse of public funds by his imaginary boyfriend Baimagasona. Get some help you sicko.

editor,
The Australian PM promised pre-elections there would be "no cuts to education, no cuts to health, no change to pensions, no change to GST and no cuts to the ABC and SBS" (letter the Australian 24/11).
After his election he has broken all his promises. In other words he lied to the people ("Why not call them a lie?"Carol Peters 24/11).
It just shows we have in politics people who lie just to get into power and lie again and again to remain in power.
And they draw to their side others - especially high profile people(university people, business leaders, professional people, media people, community leaders) - who can support their lies with their verbal gymnastics.
Malcolm Turnbull makes a pathetic attempt to do and in the process damages his own credibility.
Any of this lying lot in Fiji?

FIJI and New Zealand will sign an agreement on December 11 which will see Fiji's inclusion into the NZ Recognised Seasonal Employer (RSE) scheme.

This means workers from Fiji will be employed for seasonal work in New Zealand from February next year.

According to Foreign Affairs Minister Ratu Inoke Kubuabola, the pilot phase of the scheme would include 30 workers from Fiji employed for seasonal work in Hawke's Bay, Bay of Plenty and Nelson.

Ratu Inoke praised the efforts of departments in Fiji and NZ, and employers in NZ to prepare for the scheme to take effect.

Vili Boci, any deals like this between Fiji and India and/or China? Tell your Indian boyfriend to to go easy on you since you're thinking, or lack of it, have been stunted by too many vudis up your rear.

People from Fiji going to do seasonal work in New Zealand is not a miracle performed by the Bainimarama government.
My grandfather went to do such seasonal work - cutting scrub etc - in the early 1960s!!

Growth forecast

Shayal Devi
Monday, November 24, 2014

FIJI'S exports are projected to grow by 8 per cent this year, says Prime Minister Rear Admiral (Ret) Voreqe Bainimarama.

Speaking at the 2014 Westpac Prime Minister's Exporter of the Year awards in Nadi on Saturday night, Mr Bainimarama said this was expected to grow even further next year and beyond.

BAINIMARAMA SAYING ONE THING BUT GOVERNOR RESERVE BANK SAID THE OPPOSITE LAST WEEK.

SO WHO'S RIGHT?

WE KNOW THAT BAINIMARAMA IS A LIAR

SO HE MUST BE THE ONE THAT IS LYING AGAIN HERE.

"Our imports are growing too and that is another good sign," he said.

"Thanks in part to our exporters, people have more disposable income to spend on goods and many of these imports are also products our exporters use to support their businesses."

NZ and Aust have now opened their doors due to the threat posted by China, they are fearful of China's growing influence in the Pacific,Both NZ and Aust Economy is not even 1/3 of China's economy.

The seasonal workers scheme is a carrot dangled before the Govt, but we will take it to sooth relationship and build bridge between the two,now we have the upper hand, we are membes of the top table also, being a superpower on our own turf is a huge statement, remember:

we are as the Chinese President called us " The Emerald of the Pacific" that is who we are now, from a Junkyard Dog in 2005 to being the 'Emerald of the Pacific" and as I stated earlier we will not BEG to be re-admitted into the Comonwealth or the toothless PIF they will plead and beg us to be re-admitted.

We still managed to have a robust and prolific economy after 8 years without the seaonal workers scheme,a good excuse for Sodelpa Sapotas to step overseas now, yaco ga i tai, moce Viti qai lai blog toka mai, vakai Kua Ni Rape kei Nayacakalou qai vosaca toka mai vaka e dua na koli, e vuti vaka vo ka kodro tiko mai matani nona vale...

Tui Viti & FF Losers!!!

Tui V - Can't help notice how Someome like yourself is well beyond salvaging. You'll remain an irrevelant duped invalid just like Vili Rakoro and the rest of your blind bats chained to Frank and Aiyazs STRATEGIC LIES AND CUNNING. This is the bit that sickens Sodelpa Supporters - your shameless childish opinions that FIJI as you see it now has become some kinda PET DOG to new foreign powers like China and India for instance who are pouring in aid is worrisome. You make it sound that Fiji has never ever received donor aid before or what? The subsequent BETRAYAL and TYPICAL LIUMURI stance against our faithful long time allies in NZ and Australia is unwarranted. You obviously lack any understanding of the Rules of Democracy .
The ramifications of an illegal take over of a government by self serving THUGS is severe but you lot can't seem to see that. Nations for example like Australia and Zealand have always encouraged and empowered developing island nations like FIJI to meet their domestic challenges in the political social and economical fields. They've been supporting and aiding Fiji ensuring good governance all these years.

So what I'm saying is that your traitorous and useless allegations against Fijis two faithful neighboring allies should cease. Shocking really that you are no doubt a corrupt mouthpiece just like The Fiji Sun and all who rally against the Rule of Law.

Stop harping about China and India. That is what these rich big powers do . They have millions to give away to developing nations and again Fiji is not the only recipient of donor aids.

What were saying here is that these countries be it communist in nature or terrorist - they will come to the desperate pleas of Frank and Aiyaz who are solely defiant against the western powers and the rule of democracy. The shrewd and ambitious Muslim Strategist that Frank has hired to remain Puppeteer to steer the gullible idiots like yourselves to your unsuspecting future doom is beaming with delight . He has Fiji and the gullibles ALL under his control!

Stop thinking on China's behalf! They don't give a damn really about whether a country is democratic or not. China's non interference policy has clashed with the attempts of the US and others to promote good governance ,sustainable economic reforms and growth with struggling nations like Fiji. China while generous is deadly!

It's clear sighted even if one is not a politician to note that superpowers like China who at times give unconditionally aid and whatever (refer your proud statements on Fiji) will only empower FRANK and AIYAZs government to REJECT western encouragement to move towards full political reforms and economic openess etcetera. FF government who have no intention of sincerely collaborating with Sodelpa parliamentarians to moving Fiji to good governance and the rest of it will DISTANCE themselves from if not live up to who they stand for (a corrupt FF lot)..DEFY our allies in the western powers and create their own INDEPENDENT FOREIGN POLICY which as I mentioned above will have The Sleeping Giant China continuously throwing cash and kind our way regardless..

Now we watch the Cunning Aiyaz play (China and India ) the two powers off one another to gain maximum advantage for himself and his puppet Frank and military goons and corrupt FF government !!!

Fiji has opened its doors wide open - we are likely to become breeding grounds for terrorism , international crime, infectious disease and more of a failed state in time to come!!

Great to be flying over the golf course right now thinking how gullible how foolish the Fiji FF supporters have become.

Meeeeeeeeooooooooowwwwww

Tui Sona, the reason why this scheme wasn't done before was because Fiji was ruled by a thug and there weren't any elections. But I know you don't know that asshole. When Fiji was hit (cursed) by natural disasters, where was China and India? I suggest you stick your finger up your anus, take it out and stick in in your mouth, but you have already done that. Maybe Vili Boci's finger hahahahaha

They can't get over that silly idiots namely the desperate gullibles of FIJI have unanimously voted a Government to power that will drag the name FIJI and it's people to the Abyss!!

Corruption is like a ball of snow - once it sets a rolling

Regardless of the fact we won the election and are satisfied with our government. Blimey SODELPA supporters stupidity knows no bounds and they have been a laughing stock to the whole of Fiji and the recent action of their SODELPA opposition leaders they're now also the laughing stock of the world lol.

They swear, skewed facts, falsely accuse etc etc wow just wow. Pure comedial entertainment from these lot. They're frustrated, incompetent, angry and just so so sad.

It's so easy to let out their anger. All you gotta do is post the truth and reality of the present and that'd their questions for more pathetic personal attack. They surely lack tact and ability to hold a proper debate without resorting to name calling and just pure filth lol. Tears of laughter from the FF supporters.

What is obvious is that just as SODELPA supporters claim that FF supporters are blinded by Frank and in particular Khaiyum, they themselves the SODELPA supporters have been blinded by Qarase and the party leaders bull shit. The difference is that we don't believe in the old bull shit. Out with the old bull shit in with the new bull shit. It may still be shit but its progressive shit and not stagnant old crap. Unfortunately SODELPA supporters will never catch on because they have been duped into believing like sheep following their idiot leader over the cliff, refuse to see that SODELPA is a ship with a big hole in its hull and water is filling up quicker than they thought. Watch how rats swim ship. Wont be long when the exodus starts.

Very funny.....only jobs you Kai Viti are good for is seasonal work, factory work, labour work. Why bother but work hard with what you have. Why go overseas. You claim to own the land. WTF you too lazy to use it or too dumb to know how to use it. You carry on with Aust and NZ than bend over and ask for visas for seasonal workers...you guys are pathetic. You have all the land in the world, the sea and its resources but you guys are still big assed lazy as hell and think going overseas will solve all your worldly problems. Wake up from your dream plizzz...Go back to your village and live like natives that's the best advise for you. Fiji is small country, traditionally we have ties with Australia & NZ, over the years, we were being side-lined with patronizing attitude from governmental heads, not people, that is why you still see lots of Kiwis and Aussies are visiting our shores as tourists. However we are still being left alone and have enjoyed our freedom as one nation. To deal with two superpowers we really need to be wary before we go to bed with them. Now India has opened up visa for Fijians. isn't this another bait for the next influx of foreigners in our soil apart from illegal chinese who have already migrated to shores in their hundreds. This is one area that the FB and ASK government needs to seriously guard against. Our island is so small, our resources is so limited, we just have to look at Solomons to understand the impact of allowing Malayan chinese destroy their forest reserves which is 3times bigger than Fiji. Very soon, if Fiji opens up its shores, then population explosion, and the problems associated with it would takes us a boiler pressure point. Fiji will explode or implode from within. We are requesting the government to guard against this very seriously otherwise all Fijians (Indo and Itaukeis alike) will suffer.

Anonymous said...

Vili you have to know that Fijian heritage is vested with Itaukei Land Commission (formerly Native Land Commission-NLC). Looking for facts with Fiji Museum about Itaukei history is the wrong way to search to define Itaukei History of this Land. And to use the words racist since he speaks his own language in his own land is a tradition that is carried out by Indians in Indian, Chineses in China, Japanese in Japan. Please refrain from assertive attitude that denotes irrational thinking, one does not become a racist overnight when he bluttered out in his own language. Already you are stigmatizing Itaukei people. It's sad fighting amongst yourselves when almost everything is taken away from your face.

Vili Rakoro said...

You kidding me. The only reason he's using Fijian in his posting is because he's a backward racists nationalists imbecile. Fiji is multicultural, half of our population is made up of Fijian of Indian and other ethnicity therefore when communicating in a blog meant for all he should post in English to take into consideration those others who don't speak the lingo.

Most of my relation in Naitasiri don't even speak bauan and I know it's the same for most villagers around Fiji. If he really wants to be seen as a true Fijian then post in his own provincial dialect.

He probably thinks that posting in bauan direct makes him look respectable but guess what it just makes him look racist and ignorant. To make it worse this blog is owned by a Fijian of Indian decent lol. If it was his blog and he stated it's a I Taukei blog then fair enough but it's not therefore he is truly out of touch.
