Russians, same-sex marriage and a new flag

It's 2016 and Fiji is still the way the world should not be.

This week 20 containers of ammunition arrived in Suva much to the surprise of the whole country it seems, except for the acting police commissioner Brigadier General Sitiveni Qiliho, who said the police had given approval for the consignment.

The shipment includes small arms, two trucks and a helicopter.
The two trucks parked at military HQ in Nabua

With a supposed democratic government now in place, Parliament wasn't informed about the shipment.

Given Fiji's history with coups, one would think the shipment would be a very important topic to be transparent about.

Acting military commander Read Admiral Viliame Naupoto has now revealed that Russian soldiers will be coming to Fiji next month to train soldiers. He said the weapons were are essential for Fiji's United Nations peacekeeping missions, as many soldiers were using out-dated weaponry which made them poorly equipped.

If this is the case, why all the secrecy around it?

Also this month, Frank Bainimarama revealed a new Fiji flag would be flying on Constitution Day on September 7.

Everything on the flag will change, except the navy blue colour.

Five designs will be chosen by Bainimarama's office from March 1-19. The nation will then be asked to vote on these 5 designs and the one with the most votes will be announced by July 1.

Last week Bainimarama put his foot in his mouth again after criticising the suggestion of Fiji legalising same sex marriage.

The suggestion was made by Shamima Ali from the Fiji Women's Crisis Centre.

"Fiji does not need that rubbish," Bainimarama said. He added that if a woman wants to "marry" another woman, "they should go and have it done in Iceland, and stay and live there".

Homosexual activist and attorney Aman Ravindra Singh says Bainimarama has breached section 26 of the Fiji Constitution and should be charged.

"Under section 65 there is a particular offense called inciting communal antagonism. This issue has now flared within our community and in our society as a whole. The prime minister has breached section 65 in that his action has incited communal antagonism, and he should be investigated and charged," Singh said.

According to him, at least one citizen is interested in bringing formal charges against the prime minister by filing a police complaint over his comment.

Meanwhile Bainimarama denied he violated the constitution explaining that the Fiji constitution does not refer in any way to homosexuality or homosexual "marriage" in addressing the issue of citizen equality.

Bending the rules again to suit himself.

Happy New Year to all our loyal followers!

Disgusted WITH the traitor Ashwin Raj supporting Bainimarama.

A failed and rejected political scientist posing as a gay rights campaigner. He can't get a job in his field so lick Khaiyum arse to get appointed MIDA chairman.

Fake academic can shoot his mouth and spray fancy words but in reality a vacuous opportunist.

This fraud has not guts to tell off the PM for his homophobic comments as he would lose his job, so he is beating up the media instead.

To think UNESCO invited this gutless clown to be a speaker at the 2015 Regional Dialogue on LGBTI Human Rights.

He collected a hefty per deum from the junket, but betrayed the Fiji LGBT community.

UNESCO should ban him. The Fiji LGBT community should prevent him from using them.

A failed, wannabe academic trying too desperately to sound academic with fancy words.

How many containers of ammunition? 20? That's a shit load of ammo. Ok, let's say they use up 5 or 6 containers to zero their weapons, maybe another 2 or 3 to maintain rifle marksmanship..what will they do with the rest? Shoot lizards? Or...God forbid...shoot us?

The whole country feels secure except for the few surprised nutcases who made complete idiots of themselves. Let's name the idiots: Isoa Tikoca, Ben Padarath, Pita Waqavonovono and nobody else. It's seems that a few irrelevant people are trying hard to be noticed. C4.5 you could be more factual as the country wasn't surprised. Only the three and you maybe.

Relax peeps....those are the heavy weaponry needed by the soldiers in Golan so they don't surrender the next time Al-Nasi-dredre-ga comes a-calling. Or maybe they'll just surrender the whole damn lot, who knows.

What are you idiots talking about??What a shame that you lack IQ to know that this is all in response to rebel training last year, all these weapons is coming in disguise of peacekeeping.....the weapons coming to shoot and kill those who stand up against the fraud government....

Come on, for peace keeping, really, who is Bainimarama trying to fool, it all to do with preparing in case of attack against rebel groups therefore for killing Fijians, I hope you all reading this loud and clear.

Just hope our lamusona military will now not easily surrender these state of the art weaponry again at the first sight of riff raff militant insurgents in Syria like in 2014. Didn't they have sophisticated weaponry with them back then, like they were marching around with in 2006 and 2007 with all the fancy desert camouflage and their leader (now PM) at the forefront with sunglasses and menacing looking attire?? if they surrender again, better to give them solid track shoes that will help the scamper down the cassava patch or the olive orchards in middle east. bwhahahahaheeheeheehawhawhaw!!! me sogo mada ga i liu ni qanibulu!!!

How can we know that 5 flags will be selected from the public?
How can we know that those 5 flags won't be made by the government itself?

At least in NZ they did the right thing, even though the public ended up picking a childish flag with a pictogram. I don't think NZ will be able to change its flag in March.

It would be better to have experts giving the government their opinion about the new flags and let them pick
the 5 flags. At least, they could contact experts overseas for an opinion. This new flag will be there forever
so what would it cost them to ask for a professional opinion? The public should be educated about what
a good flag is all about. The journos have been strangly quiet for months...

Phew!! forget about the alleged 20 containers of Russian firepower!

The ravaging inferno of fire power in this highly esteemed C 4.5 blog since 2006 could have melted all snow and ice in a Russian winter.

But...but...we're still blogging on incognito to nothingness. Goodness, and it is 2016!!

Admiral Bainimarama and his gangs of many Governments including this democratically elected one have their numerous policies, acts, maneuvers and reputation flogged, banged, maimed, cursed 'an all by many in this blog.

Yet...yet...the majority of the Fiji Citizens, nearly ALL Christian Churches, and other religious groups, Cults , Vanua, sect etc seems to be readily accepting all the Rear Admiral is dishing out, seems many have been having a love relationship with the Rear Admiral all this years and many, like my tauvu from Gau Island wishes he rules forever more!

NOT us at the NFP...we at the NFP are following things slowly at a distance, and who knows, we may just take more seats in the next election away from the SODELPA and some from the non performing FFP MPs seats and NFP may just form the next Government and...uh.. use that Russian Helicopter...lol..

No...no..no way are not going to be in partnership with SODELPA again..please NO!!..they can find their own helicopter!

Ashwin Raj the wannabe but fake academic is the biggest closet homosexual in Fiji. He is the joke of academia and journalists in the region with his forever flowery statements. The things he tries to say can be said in much simpler language and much more concisely at that. This guy looks like a cross between a mongoose and a dog. They LBGT community in Fiji are now talking of his passive preferences in his gay romps.

So no russian bear.
Anyway, with global warming, there won't be russian bears for very long.
When the ice cap melts, they can't survive.

The helicopter? mmm Fiji used to have 2, they were given by France if I remember correctly, but I think they crashed because of lack of skills and training... hopefully the Russians are good teachers...

Did Khaiyum, Franks legal advisor explain thoroughly the new constitution to the PM so that he understands it? Did he ever read this book of the land anyway? His responce to Shamima Ali refering him to section 65 of the constitution proved that he needs to be educated. His haste in replying proved that his mouth is actually his brain

Spending money on Military equipment when Fijians already have to supply their own medicines because the fake Government of Fiji can't provide those same medicines for the common person, is a little bazaar to say the least. But when you consider Frank and Aiyaz seek treatment in Australia and China for their own ailments, it's no wonder they're not concerned!
So, have the Soldiers become Fiji's new cash-cow for the Regime, are their lives in peace keeping deployments, expendable?
And why doesn't Frank Bainimarama as the fake P.M. go to visit Fiji's soldiers in these theatres of war? What a coward.
I hope the RFMF wakes up to itself and uses these same weapons and ammunition to arrest and detain Frank and his followers.
Now that, would be a "good" investment!!!!!!

I reckon a good third of the males would be gay/bisexuals in our country. I don't know about Meli, but that is always possible.
Maybe Bainimarama should read his Constitution before talking.

More guns to prance around with that the military can't even man up to a real threat like Al-Nusra and fight back instead of surrendering like pussies that the Russians have now come to bail them up with brand new loads of ammunition and air support.

Militarism forever present that the soldiers led by kingpin Frankie and his protรฉgรฉ Ayarse are quite fond of intimidating civilians but yet can't face up to terrorists themselves.

Its clearly a no-brainer that Frankie can do whatever he wants with his own constitution, even if it means breaking the rules in it for self satisfaction as always. Especially when it comes to same-sex marriage to which no one in the country ever wants legalized because of the church anyways.

Bainimarama is correct about same sex marriage not allowed in Fiji. It's there in the constitution. What is legal is their right to be what they are, their right to equal treatment, right to privacy and free from sexual arrests. Marriage between a man and a man is unconstitutional in Fiji as well as marriage between 2 consenting women.
Bainimarama however was wrong thus automatically implicated himself. under ..."inciting communal antagonism" It will haunt him ".

Church steers clear
Sikeli Qounadovu
Wednesday, January 20, 2016
THE Methodist Church in Fiji and Rotuma has denied claims that it is associated with the Fijians Helping Fiji Co-operative Ltd (FHFCL).

President Reverend Tevita Banivanua said everyone was given the freedom to choose and the church could not be associated with everything. He said this, despite a picture of Reverend Apete Toko — Head of the Country's Men's Fellowship — appearing on the Fijians Helping Fiji facebook page.

Reverend Toko was spotted in a picture during a recent FHFCL gathering where he was seated next to Ratu Meli Vesikula, the chairman of the organisation.

When questioned Reverend Banivanua said the church did not support the FHFCL.

"Everyone is given their freedom to choose whatever organisation they wish, but I would like to confirm that the church does not hold a position in the organisation," he said.

"However, we are yet to be convinced on the allegations levelled against the organisation and we need more evidence to fully know what this organisation is about."

Meanwhile, eighteen Fijians graduated from the AHA business administration training course in Sacramento, California, last year.

Ratu Meli said the 18 Fijians left in September and graduated on December 12 last year after the three-month course.

One of the graduates, Suliasi Tamanalevu, has arrived in the country.

It is unclear whether the others are still in the US or back in the country.

THE inaugural awards night for the Fiji Independent Commission Against Corruption (FICAC) was held last Saturday at the Grand Pacific Hotel.

Fifteen recipients were awarded commission awards in the form of a plaque, recognising their efforts for last year. Chief guest Attorney-General and Minister for Finance and Anti-Corruption Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum informed those present on the night to remain clean from corruption and to be fully aware of their roles. He told the officers they were not to abuse their powers bestowed upon them. "You must know that you have the power and when you have that type of power, never ever abuse it," Mr Sayed-Khaiyum said.

Ok so what about inviting Josefa Voreqe Bainimarama and John Vugakoto Kean and give them both a reward for nepotism? The head of the Land Department could also be invited, that would be great! All of us, farmers in Vakabalea and buyers from Suva, are fed up of those two assholes.

FIJI should have its new flag flying high and proud by Constitution Day on September 7, says Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama.

Mr Bainimarama said the flag change was inevitable, adding that his Government would go on with their plans for a new flag despite calls not to do so.

Mr Bainimarama urged people on the island and around the country to actively participate in the flag designing competition that was currently progressing in the country, adding they should select the new flag design in a few weeks.

Speaking in the iTaukei language, Mr Bainimarama told members of the public in Wairiki, Taveuni that his Government had brought in a new reign.

Therefore, Mr Bainimarama said, it was only fitting that they changed everything from old to new.

Reflecting on his earlier statements about the flag change, Mr Bainimarama assured every Fijian the change would carry on despite calls from different political groups and certain people not to do so. He said Fiji was on its new journey to development and freedom, adding a new flag would reflect the change and progress that his Government brought about.

Responding to calls from members of the public on the island for the retention of the coat of arms because of its symbolic status to the people of Fiji and its history, Mr Bainimarama said the only feature of the flag to be retained would be its navy blue colour. Apart from that, Mr Bainimarama said everything in the new flag would change and be replaced including the coat of arms.

Some people had also requested Mr Bainimarama to retain the depiction of the lion on the flag as it was a reminder of the country's history with the English and their contribution to the growth of the nation. According to some members of the public, the depiction also reminded the country of its ties with the Commonwealth of Nations.

anyone know where the new submissions are posted so that we can criticize the new designs to make sure we don't end up with a crappy flag?!?!

"The 2006 coup is to end all coups in Fiji"..according to Frank Bainimarama. Is this a prediction, an assumption or a statement for something completed different coming our way. Coup de'tat is associated with military intervention in the ruling govt. But the Arab spring that started off in Tunisia by a poor decent market vendor who dozed himself with fuel and burned him changed all that. The three leaders ( Tunisian, Egyptian, Libyan) were ousted not through a military coup but by a revolution( a different kind of coup)
Today, military coup as a powerful tool to bring down any form of govt by military is becoming outdated. The Arab Spring has proven that masses uprising is more powerful and deadlier than a military coup.
It's coming to Fiji..not here though but is on its way.
So the purchase of these new weapons including a helicoptor and 2 trucks from Russia will not stop a mess revolution. ..gear up everyone! Welcome to the future!

In case you are familiar with Fijian culture, it is NOT a culture of revolution.
Not a culture where people take charge of themselves when it comes to CHANGE.
It has advantages and disadvantages. The advantage is PEACE. The disadvantage is

you will notice how hardly anyone in Fiji demonstrated against the regime. the few
who did where kailoma, maybe outsiders like heads of Fiji Time, Fiji Sun, a few
from NGOs, and that's about it! seriously! even today, you won't see anyone willing
to walk 10 minutes under the hot sun to protest. NOPE. Fiji is a different place indeed.

You failed to understand that Fiji is more diverse and is prone to lose its culture as it progresses. It is not an island of its own. Basically we are all part of a global system- a havoc system as I write. The person who will start a revolution will definitely be an outsider. Look at the inflowing of Chinese and the outgrown extremists ideology. Did you read that asshole terror threats here? Give our new residents education and change the system to accommodate them in power , you'll realize why I'm writing here. Fiji will never be the same as days and minutes go by. What the govt is doing to the people will one day climaxed to the point where life holds no sacred any more. The poor Tunisian vendor had been tormented by the govt for most of his life to the point where life to him was meaningless.
The Egypt revolution that brought down Mubarak was initiated by someone from outside. He was not an Egyptian national who got his education in the US.

@8:51 AM & 9:04 AM

the world and humans have always changed.
even though religion is based on stories people choose to beleve in, and can lead to all sorts of crazy behaviors, I want to point the fact that it is the HUMAN NATURE, animal nature, itself, that is chaotic, violent and dangerous.

MAN is something to be overcome. We have only ourselves to overcome our natural tendency towards self destruction.
Humanity is now in a post-religious era (I am talking for developped countries especially), lost in consumerism and unable to understand the real nature of life. All ancient references are GONE, we now have to give a meaning ourselves to our lives.

I believe the arabic world still think and live like in the middle ages, but so were a lot of Christians under Rabuka and a lot of Hindus lost in a collection of superstitions (like looking at the full moon is dangerous). there is a lot of growing up to do in Fiji in this regard, but I believe the future is greener in Fiji than anywhere else on Earth for one reason: people are not naturally prone to violence as you suggest because they havent actually been tortured or mistreated or prevented to do what they want (which is really not much: rugby, kava drinking, gossiping, church(for the show) and a few other things like sleeping a lot, eating a lot, et ...etc...) People in Fiji are fairly self-reliant when it comes to their own happiness. The fact that Fiji sustematically ranks HIGH in the happiness Index but that arabic countries are doing badly means everything.

People get angry and violent when they are fundamentally NOT HAPPY. The Rabuka gang managed to convince a few iTaukeis they should be angry in 1987. It led to the National Bank of Fiji disaster amongst other things... and now I belive the people have lost any illusion that a monkey in the military can put money in your pocket...

Humans are so ridiculous. what a freak show!!!

Sorry for being beside the point, but I have a question about the former governor of the Reserve Bank of Fiji.

Before the devaluation in 2009 I think, Reddy transfered a lot of his Fiji money to New Zealand. His crime was discovered later and the government of Fiji wanted to prosecute him.

My question: what ever happened with him? He is living comfortably in NZ, with no risk of extradition to Fiji? How come NZ is harbouring that criminal?

@1:10 PM
Qorvis is getting a lot of $$$$$ to create a nice picture of a country that is poorly managed, that is for sure.
Are they behind the flag change? I don't know, but what I know is that all countries flying the Union Jack in the corner are
saying they are "England Junior". No wonder Australia has had a long history trying to change its flag (look at ausflag.com)
and New Zealand well no need to talk about it. Even Tuvalu changed its flag but they rechanged their flag because they
want more $$$$$.... with or without Qorvis, I believe that Fiji will anyhow change its flag one day because the current
one looks ridiculous for an independent country. One doesn't need to be a bright spark to understand that.
We should remember that only 53% of Fijians support the current flag... that is not the hallmark of a great flag...

As for the democratic process to change it, we can put a cross on it. My prediction is that if the regime doesn't come
up with 5 great flags from the PUBLIC that haven't beam doctored by Khaiyum, we might see a flag change that will last.
Otherwise, it will be like in Tuvalu. When Bainimarama is dead, na kuila makawa will be flying again and we will just
have wasted more money.

As agreed at our last meeting in Suva we have made the small increase in financial payment you requested based upon the number of times you can mention QORVIS within each posting.

Thanks once again and keep up the good work............

Interesting to see how Americans seem to make fun of Bainimarama in this podcast about changing the Fiji flag:http://vexillogicast.com/eps/vexillogicast022.mp3

not much about the flag change process itself though.

Anonymous said...

FIVE flag designs will be shortlisted by March for members of the public to vote on, says Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama.

He said the deadline was extended because more designs were being received.

"Our current flag has served us well, but it represents our past, not our future. Fiji belongs to the Fijian people and so should our new flag. It needs to capture the beautiful imagery of our country and symbolise our unity and independence," Mr Bainimarama said in Naitasiri yesterday.

He said in March, they would consult members of the public before declaring the new flag on Constitution Day on September 7.

He urged all Fijians to participate in this national and historic activity.

"So I hope all of you will share your opinions and ideas during this important national conversation so that Fiji can fly a flag that shows who we are."

Interesting way of phrasing it: "they would consult members of the public".
I believe it is the right way to put it PROVIDED that the government consult, first and foremost, a committee of vexillologists. Why? First of all, there are already too many dumb people who can't even see the problem with the current colonial flag. The public poll showed that 53% of the people want to keep the current flag, that is very low for a flag, but still it shows the poor taste/understanding of flags by the public. I believe that only professional in the flag industry should be consulted. Those people look like passionate and would be more than happy to give an opinion for free about the 5 designs selected.

The main problem with Bainimarama is the lack of transparency and lack of clear rules. He has put some rules like "the flag has to be blue" or the flag has to have the same shape (I've always thought the shape of the flag depends of the design... a vertical flag like Italy wouldn't have the shape of a long flag like Fiji which combines actually 2 flags in 1) or no Christian cross or whatever else. Bainimarama should come clear about what are his rules and from there be transparent with the public. The role of the flag committee is NOT to design the flags, only the members of the public should be allowed to design the flags, and I would even say people who are NOT connected anyhow to any political party or the military. Only real ordinary members of the public should be allowed to participate.

Bainimarama should know by now what mistakes he did last year.

THE NEW FIJI FLAG SHOULD HAVE A BIG MONKEY ON A BLUE BACKGROUND, because that is what Kaiyum thinks of all Indigenous Fijians.
He even made the actions in Parliament, of all places.

Anonymous said...

@12:19PM Khaiyum should lose his Fiji Citizenship.
That is really unforgivable.

The flag should be the exact opposite of what he did.
I see the flag as what Fiji should be in a perfect world, in a dream.
Reality is often far from that, and I suppose that's why we stand UNDER the flag, not above it.

That being said, I hope that out of 900,000 Fijians there will be someone smart enough to produce a really great flag that will show what most of us the grassroot people are really: cool, friendly, loving and generous.

Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama has urged students of Nakurukuruvakatini Primary School in Naitasiri to part in the national flag competition. Speaking to students during a ceremony yesterday Bainimarama said the new flag will represent every Fijian, so they must submit their designed and makes their voices heard. He says this is a national effort of enormous significance – as the new flag will wave over Fiji for countless generations to come. The deadline for new flag design submissions has been extended until the 29th of next month. In March, the government will put forward five designs and consult with the public, before declaring Fiji’s new flag on Constitution Day, the 7th of September - See more at: http://www.fbc.com.fj/fiji/36763/pm-urges-students-to-take-part-in-flag-competition#sthash.qIATgGD9.dpuf

mmmmm..... the problem I see here is that the people of Fiji have already been fooled once with that flag competition.
Number of flags selected from the public: 0
Number of flags designed by the flag committee: 23

why would it be different this time?

I doubt there is much interest from the public, as the PM pretends. After all, there are no more ads about the flag on TV or in the newspapers. No media has published any new flag design for at least...7 months maybe...?? more? I find that statement very suspicious.

That said, Fiji needs a new flag.

“Do not make idols or set up carved images, or sacred pillars, or sculptured stones in your land so you may worship them. I am the LORD your God. You must keep my Sabbath days of rest and show reverence for my sanctuary. I am the LORD.” Leviticus 26:1-13

“If you follow my decrees and are careful to obey my commands, I will send you the seasonal rains. The land will then yield its crops, and the trees of the field will produce their fruit. Your threshing season will overlap with the grape harvest, and your grape harvest will overlap with the season of planting grain. You will eat your fill and live securely in your own land.

“I will give you peace in the land, and you will be able to sleep with no cause for fear. I will rid the land of wild animals and keep your enemies out of your land. In fact, you will chase down your enemies and slaughter them with your swords. Five of you will chase a hundred, and a hundred of you will chase ten thousand! All your enemies will fall beneath your sword.”

“I will look favorably upon you, making you fertile and multiplying your people. And I will fulfill my covenant with you. You will have such a surplus of crops that you will need to clear out the old grain to make room for the new harvest! I will live among you, and I will not despise you. I will walk among you; I will be your God, and you will be my people. I am the LORD your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt so you would no longer be their slaves. I broke the yoke of slavery from your neck so you can walk with your heads held high.” (Leviticus 26:1-13)

The people of the Old Testament were warned over and over against worshiping idols. We wonder how they could deceive themselves with these objects of wood and stone. Yet God could well give us the same warning, for we too tend to put idols above him. Idolatry is making anything more important than God, and our lives are full of that temptation. Money, appearances, success, reputation, security, and more can all become idols in our lives. As you look at these false gods that promise everything you want but nothing you need, does idolatry seem so far removed from your experience?

Not only do idols take God’s place in our lives; they also enslave us. God took the children of Israel out of bitter slavery and gave them freedom and dignity. We too are set free when we accept Christ’s payment that redeems us from sin’s slavery. We no longer need to be bogged down in shame over our past sins or by trusting in idols; we can walk with dignity because God has forgiven us and leads us to freedom. But just as the Israelites were still in danger of returning to a slave mentality, we need to beware of the temptation to return to our former idols and sinful patterns.

There is hope in God my Fiji. Let us fear the Lord, love Him and obey Him. There is no other hope apart from Him.

I wonder what the respective Churches would be praying for in so far as the National prayer points that affect all of us?? I mean, prayers that go beyond their church halls, leaders and own church families??

Or if all prayers were bonded on one telephone line system, would the switched board have a blow up due to cross lines??

As we said before in this highly esteemed column that myriad of contrasting prayers offered every Sundays and , in fact every day. How? The Padre at RFMF and some Churches throughout beloved Islands would be rallying in prayer for the good health and longevity of Admiral and his Government to rule as long as the term of their natural life.

Down the road other Churches and some across the Nation may be cursing the spirit of sedition birthed in 1987 and courted by many, hence may be declaring destruction upon the Admiral's Government.

Yet,others across the Theological paddock the moderate few standing in the medium strip crying, We have no idea, but...but...let your will be done either way we will accept as God's will.

That is not even taking a peek at the prayers offered at the Mosques, Temples, Synagogues, cults and secrete societies!

Phew! what a spiritual cross line, and that is the atmosphere we choose to live!!!

That is our Fiji, one and all doing our own "egocentric thingi"...the kids would say..

4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
5 Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.

Thank you my fellow citizens and friends. It is healthy and useful to talk about matters of real importance to us. But let us beware that sometimes, we may get lost in the trees and lose sight of the forest. In this case, let us never allow the details to distract us from the overall thrust and impact and meaning of what is happening in Fiji. QORVIS and the thinkers in FFP are trying to overload us with so much straw and thatch. Their overall objective is to overwhelmus, to demoralise us, to confuse us, to intimidate us to the point where we lose our bearing, our courage, our resistance, our control and our faith in God and in one another.
Let us be assured that the word of God is always the final arbiter of everything that happens and let us be instructed and empowered by it. “Whatever a man sows, that he shall also reap.” The word “man” in that verse, includes Bai, Khai, Bala, Qorvis operatives, CJ, DPP, Nazhat Shameem, etc etc and all of us on planet earth. It simply means, our time of reckoning will come, and our actions precede our judgement.
Now, according to history, that verse has always proven true. And based on god’s word and the testimony of history, what we are witnessing today and in the last 8 years is the dance of death and destruction by Bai, Khai, and their band of men and women. They may seem so invincible, happy, successful, happy, and secure to some. But know this, they are simply on their last dance called the Dance of Fools, the Dance of Death and Destruction.
Cheer up my Fiji. Fear God. Love one another. Do what is right. There is a God in heaven. He is absolute Sovereign. He watches, He sees, and He will judge everyone. He is also wathing Fiji’s band of fools dancing their Dance of Destruction, before they are summoned to account for their evil actions, dirty deals and various forms of injustice. God hears those who cry unto Him. Hope in God my Fiji. Help is coming soon. Do not give up your faith. Do not give up your love. Stand up for your faith. Stand up against injustice. Speak against the evil deeds around and amongst you. God will be for you. The time of reckoning is fast approaching. Prayer and action allows the miraculous to happen. We need people of faith to ACT. We need God’s guidance and judgement. Both are neede to restore the sanity and hope of our nation. Vinaka.

Fiji is my home. NO; like many of us Fijian overseas we/I DID NOT run away as you pathetically alleged!

This is my email semimeo1956@gamil.com

I make a deal with you...show us your miserable name, send me a test email so I could 7 days before arriving send you proof of my Tickets and I WILL meet you in Suva in February...otherwise shut up and try the very best you could live a decent liberated life!!...not living in fear and in hiding..

Oh, and show my travel and arrival details to the Fiji Police and Military intelligence.

Deal ????????

The FFP Government could do all us a big favour by pleading the Russians for a Mega Helicopter to assist in logging and carting water to the Maritime Zone during drought.

While at it, could they also ask the Russian Navy to assist patrol our economic zone from these porches deliberately drifting into our maritime zone and looting our marine resources?..oh, and also assist us sniff out these myriad of dubious marine vessels using some of our uninhabitant and remote Islands as a convenient transit ports of narcotic to Aust and NZ illicit drug markets.

Just that our own Navy may not have the capabilities, and our Australia and NZ neighbours have most of their resources poised to their respective Northern waters to assist process resettling of Middles Eastern refugees.

Or would the Russians wish to wait for the new NFP Fiji Government to finalise the deal?

I have spoken to Frank once, before the coup, and all I got was a smile, the smile of an 11 or 12 year old little boy, which highlighted to me his personality and mentality. And perhaps that's how Aiyaz controls him, stroking his ego and treating him like a little boy, so cunning the Indians!
Happy Australia day, but you do know I'm English right? And now I guess I can expect a rant about Colonialism and how the English exploited India, Fiji and Australia!
Please take your Medication this morning and this afternoon and see if you and your other personalities can come together to discuss the topics at hand, I get that you don't love me, that you are jealous of my white skin colour, that you feel inferior, though you shouldn't!
Later, once this coup is over and the perpetrators of this coup are in jail, we can discuss over a few beers, your obsession with and liking for lamb fat! Perhaps, if it makes hair grow, we can go into business together!
We just need to decide who will cook the lamb chops and who will bottle the fat, though we could take turns, make it a fair and equitable proposition.
Now if you don't mind, I need to get back to my BBQ in this rain!

Six put up fight in court

Repeka Nasiko
Friday, January 22, 2016

Chinese nationals grapple with police officers at the Lautoka Magistrates Court yesterday after they refused to go back to the remand centre at Natabua. Picture: JAI PRASAD

THERE was big drama outside the Lautoka Magistrates Court yesterday morning when six Chinese nationals refused to return to the Lautoka Corrections Centre after their case.

Chinese nationals Sanlin Xie, Changbao Xie, Liu Jinling, Zhong Chenhua, Weiqiang Liu and Yanyan Yang sat on the floor and resisted police attempts to take them to a waiting vehicle.

Their crying and the efforts of the police officers caused a scene, drawing a huge crowd of onlookers.

The police officers had to physically drag the men to the holding centre before they were eventually transported back to Natabua.

Aged between 32 and 50 years, the men were allegedly found with 384 ATM cards.

Through a translator, the men protested against being locked up, complaining about the conditions of their detention.

One of the men said he did not want to go back to the remand centre.

Police spokesman Inspector Atunaisa Sokomuri said the officers were executing a court order by Magistrate Raramasi Salakubou.

He said the suspects were disobeying the law of the court in refusing to be taken back to the remand centre.

"Our officers were doing their duty to escort the suspects and hand them over to the prison officers," Insp Sokomuri said.

In court, the suspects were refused bail based on submissions made by divisional police prosecutor West SSP Anil Prasad, who said the men were flight risks.

He said there was a strong chance the Chinese nationals would escape if they were released on bail.

The men will reappear in the Lautoka Magistrates Court on February 8 for mention.

As interim Finance Minister Mahen chaudhry lent invaluable support to Bainimarama in the early, crucial days of the coup.

Either his son Rajen Chaudhry totally lacks self-awareness or thinks the public are fools with short memories.

Public have not forgotten, judging from the kick FLP received on backside in last election.

Rajen is only against Fiji First because his father was kicked out by them, then humiliated in court over tax evasion (the $1million fine must have cut deep).

The election loss added insult to injury. Rajen is blaming Indians, and inciting indigenous Fijians through his facebook hate speech.

By labeling fijians 'cowards' and goading them, the goal is to start a race war to punish Indians and get revenge against bainimarama.

Rajen is trying to use Fijians for the Chaudhry family's personal agenda. Just like his father used Indians for his political ambitions and to amass wealth in the fundraising scam.

Like father like son.

The new Fiji flag must be in red color like the flag of China with a huge bear scratching its butt. On the top left is a lone star and below the bear is a donkey in full military uniform with its nose sniffing on the butt of the bear. Riding the donkey is a dick in bikini who is in total control.

Police probe threatening email

Felix Chaudhary
Thursday, January 28, 2016

POLICE are communicating with Google in the United States to track down certain internet protocol (IP) addresses ? to identify the source and location of emails ? linked to an alleged plot to overthrow the Government.

Acting Police Commissioner Brigadier General Sitiveni Qiliho said this was one of the reasons investigations into claims of an alleged plot made by Lautoka businessman, Rajneel Singh, was taking some time.

"I have also received threatening emails from an anonymous person or persons in relation to this case and tracking down the IP address has been very difficult because of new laws governing this type of information in the US," he said.

Anonymous said...

do they want to change the national anthem as well?

I thought they say they want to change the flag and the coats of arms. BTW, who's gonna change the coats of arms?...

I am not a supporter of the regime, of course, but I believe that in the long run, Australia, NZ and Fiji have no other option but to change their flag as they are colonial flags. Resistance to flag change will fade away within a year like it did in other countries where the flag was changed.

Fiji has got a super colonial flag. All the "top" parts of the flag are British. Huge Union Jack in the TOP, then lion on TOP of the shield and also English cross in the MIDDLE of the shield. That is somewhat ridiculous.

I believe that Sodelpa, which is a substandard opposition by the way, is being hypocryte on the issue. There was talk before to change the flag. Some senators. talked about it but that was it.

There is only one question here: will someone be able to come with a really nice design or not?
If the answer is yes, there will be enough support for the new flag as the current one gets only a 53% support, which is low.
If the answer is no, Bainimarama might have to listen to the people or face the consequences on his popularity level.

NFP to decide for MPs

Losalini Bolatagici
Monday, February 01, 2016

THE National Federation Party will make an official announcement today regarding the future of their three representatives in Parliament.

Party leader Professor Biman Prasad said a press conference would be held at 12 midday where the decision — reached by the party's working committee yesterday — would be announced.

A closed door meeting, which included all their representatives from around the country, was held at their head office in Tamavua yesterday.

The three NFP parliamentarians are Prof Prasad, Tupou Draunidalo and Prem Singh.

They had taken the issue of their continued participation in Parliament to the party's working committee to make the final decision.

In an earlier interview, Prof Prasad said the committee, which met yesterday, was to deliberate on a report from the party leader on the effectiveness of parliamentary democracy since October 2014.

In response, Speaker of Parliament Dr Jiko Luveni said where Government had an overwhelming majority, they would always win the votes.

The party has accused the Government's "dictatorial attitude and outright rejection of bipartisanship to advance the social and economic livelihood of our people" as the reason behind this move, which it said spelt doom for Fiji's future.

It's good that Semi Meo is a self confessed NFP stalwart. Since independence, the NFP was the prominent Indian representative nationalist party in Fiji that were hell bent on controlling Fiji's political future. In 1987, Rabuka backed by the overwhelming Fijian population put paid to those misguided ambitions. NFP has never won a seat since then and by the 2006 elections, membership was reduced to 5000 aging supporters.

The NFP is a relic of colonialism and the party is struggling to portray a moderate image amongst Indians today. Despite a sprinkling a Fijian candidates and voices like Semi, the party's historical Indian support are long gone to anyone who would champion their cause. FFP seemed to be the latest donkey, until it's usefullness to Indians dissipates into the Kubuabola Taukeism.

Dr.solution is a disciple of Lucifer!! and every "gift" from lucifer in NEVER FREE!!

Lucifer was kicked out from heaven..
The name, Lucifer, means 'day star,' or 'son of the morning.' Many recognize it as an alternate name of Satan, the fallen angel. But prior to his downfall, Lucifer was a magnificent being with a unique ministry. Unfortunately, pride overtook his heart, and sin cost him everything. When teaching on these serious topics such as Satan and sin, you can use relevant media from Sharefaith to make your message clearer.

Lucifer is one of three archangels mentioned in Scripture. He was created by God just as all angels were, but his role was different from the other angelic hosts. Lucifer was referred to as the 'covering angel.' Just as the cherubim covered the mercy seat of the Ark of the Covenant, Lucifer was established by God to be the angel of worship, one whose ministry surrounded the heart of heaven. Lucifer was created to dwell eternally in the throne room of heaven, in the very presence of God (Ezekiel 28:14).

According to Ezekiel 28:13, a probable reference to Lucifer, we learn that he is an amazing being to behold: "You were the seal of perfection, full of wisdom and perfect in beauty. You were in Eden, the garden of God; every precious stone was your covering: the sardius, topaz, and diamond, beryl, onyx, and jasper, sapphire, turquoise, and emerald with gold. The workmanship of your timbrels and pipes was prepared for you on the day you were created."

To dwell in the awesome presence of a perfect and holy God, Lucifer had to be perfect. There was nothing ordinary or plain about his appearance. Adorned with gold and precious stones, he truly fit the name, 'Son of the Morning.' He was a step above the other angels, not only in appearance but also in intellect. Lucifer's wisdom far exceeded that of other angelic beings. He understood the ways of God.

But Lucifer's splendor and beauty did not last forever. While ministering, he began to consider his own position of prominence. Lucifer became prideful, believing that he deserved more than what he already had. He wanted to become like the Most High.

Isaiah 14 reveals the fall of Lucifer from the heights of heaven, which resulted in his status as the creature that he is today:

"How you are fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning...For you have said in your heart: 'I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God; I will also sit on the mount of the congregation on the farthest sides of the north; I will ascend above the heights of the clouds, I will be like the Most High.'"
Lucifer had wisdom, beauty, ability, perfection, and yet he wanted more; he wanted to be worshiped like God. But God does not share His glory, nor does He permit another to receive worship. So before Lucifer had a chance to make his move, he was removed from the presence of God. Cast out of heaven like a bolt of lightning, Lucifer was stripped of his beauty, his position, and his rights to heaven. Satan's constant attempt ever since has been to oppose the mighty plan of God. He even attempted tempt Jesus to sin and worship him.

Lucifer's name, 'son of the morning,' was given to a far more deserving individual, the Son of God. Jesus Christ is called the 'Bright and Morning Star' (Revelation 22:16). Today, Jesus is seated at the right hand of God, dwelling in the presence of the Almighty. Christ's words hold true, even in the account of Satan: "Whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted" (Matthew 23:12). The subject of Satan is not a pleasant one. Satan's attempt to control this world system is nothing to take lightly. When you proclaim the Word and preach Christ, you must do so with utmost accuracy, power, and clarity. Sharefaith provides the resources for you to do just that.
